I think by its nature, they can't hide it. A sharp-eyed player can just watch their crystal count go from three to zero, as you can see the opponent's resources, for example.

More likely you just won't know what it is until you trigger it.

The little pink question mark above the mage lights up when she plays it, so it looks like you'll know when your opponent has one in play.

Yes, it appears above her, but the question I believe was whether that was the case from the perspective of the opposing player, as the video is being recorded from the perspective of the person who played the card.

Pretty sure it shows that they had a card in play, just that you can't see what the specific card is. For experienced players they would probably be able to guess what it is based off of the mana spelled and what secret cards go with which classes.

Checked out all the content I can find on this game, applied for beta, and I've got a link or two for those interested.


www.hsspot.com - Fan site with dev tracker, both text and visual spoilers, and a deck database. Apparently there's a deck builder somewhere on their site but I can't find it.

Also, while looking for other free ccgs to play while waiting for an invite to this I came across Might & Magic: Duel of Champions. It's fun, but it is really only worth playing to tide oneself over until Hearthstone comes out.

The raiding was their best idea, though I never did it.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they're focusing on 1v1 for this TCG, though. It really does seem to be something to do to kill the time while waiting on your real raid. :P

I'd swear I've seen a blue post saying that they would definitely like to do dungeons/raids, but it's beyond the scope of the initial release. Possibly down the line a bit. Maybe we could see something like the series of "dungeons" done (Deadmines, etc), which didn't require a player running them.

Heck, I'd totally do a matchmaking queue where you can queue up as either the raid boss or a player for a raid.

I would make the fuck out of a Scarlet Crusade deck. Basically I want them to release extra heroes or whatever over time.

Alternatively, imagine some form of competitive ladder raiding where you can enter weekly/monthly runs where you pit yourself and 2-4 of your friends against the newest raid deck you choose and try to win extra packs depending upon how well you do as well as maybe some unique treasure cards that you can only get from defeating different raid bosses (alternate arts, early access to new cards coming out of the next expansion pack, or cross-over stuff to WoW proper). Also, as each new raid deck comes out you can run against the older ones for free but without any of the extra stuff (maybe an older pack if you win).

Nah, it hasn't even started yet, that's just data mined private server recordings.

You can opt-in to Hearthstone via your battle.net account settings.

I'm also excited for this, and the fact that I can use my D3 RMAH fake monies to buy card packs in Hearthstone. I'll probably end up playing both a lot.

Hearthstone looks pretty neat, I'm sure I will give it a try.
I'm unsure how it will compare to the paper wowtcg though. That game is a lot of fun, and Hearthstone seems to have completely different game mechanics. They don't look like the same game at all.
