Have you tried straight up disabling your AV? I had to do this the first time, then go back and figure out how to add the client programs as exceptions.
everyone says they're op but I've never had that experience.
Playing or facing?

I main Druid and have never had a problem against a priest. at master 3

Maybe you haven't played a decent one?
Most Priests I see (at least at lower levels) seem to run a control deck and use their ton of cheap removal cards and heals to maintain board control and cycle cards with Northshire Cleric or something similar. Basically slowly building board advantage till they've got you top decking with no minions and then just beat your ass down.

Yup. No luck. One of the producers tweeted that he's aware that the issue is decently widespread and that they're looking into it.

I don't know if they fixed it in like the last minute or so but it's working for me now.
[edit] And then it froze during the tutorial and stopped working again. Ugh
and in the most recent one the most common deck people had ready (because you were allowed multiple decks in this one for the first time) was actually a paladin deck, and first place in EU primarily used rogue

Priest is all about reversing momentum. Cabal Shadow Priest. Shadow Madness. Mind Control. All serve to turn a card from your opponent's hand to your advantage or against them.
Big power plays turn into big power foibles as your 8/8 taunt turns into their 8/8 taunt which is going to cost you an inefficient amount of cards to remove.
On top of that they also have insane board clear. Holy nova. Holy fire. Holy Smite. Shadow Word Pain/Death. Hell they have a card to turn their hero power into the best ability in the game.
And then their buff cards and hero power enable them to trade super efficiently. Combined with the fact that they are very difficult to rush down because of their ability to heal themselves (can't just toss a few fireballs their way and wait for your pyroblast to show up) it makes for a very frustrating hero to play against.
I'm not necessarily saying they're OP. They're certainly beatable, they're not going to have the perfect cards in their hand every time. But in a game about board control their board control tools are incredibly frustrating.
Priest I think got a little over tuned in the last patch and I expect a slight nerf with the next balance patch. I do think they are frustrating to play against at the moment mostly because no other decks feels they have equivalent tools especially in the late game.
Man, I don't think there is anything as satisfying as a Hunter as seeing your Tundra Rhino survive that one crucial turn while you have a Core Hound sitting in your hand.

Ah it seems that I can play now. Ran through the tutorial missions without a lot of trouble and I unlocked the priest deck first since I've heard that was the thing to do, but if anyone would like to play with me and give me a tip or two on how not to suck horribly, my Bnet id is abstrakt11.1365
I only struggle with priest's when they pack, and save, late game MC's.
Their other tricks aren't too bad, but that MC... When that goes just right for them, it's lights out.
Otherwise I don't think priest's are that bad. No more annoying than anything else.
It's not just mind control. SW:Death is another factor. Neither of these cards would be OP on their own, I think, but together they make high-value minions very difficult to play against a priest, which reduces diversity in the metagame.
Balance issues aside, I think MC is just plain Not Fun. I'm sure it could be balanced by increasing its mana cost or whatever, but as a concept it's a bullshit card that should simply be removed from the entire game.
In Magic, those effects only last a turn. Any creature steal which is permanent has a huge cost to it and had to be telegraphed (a creature which has to be on the board for a few turns first).
The issue here is that it's a spell you can't stop which steals forever. Those things are dumb.

Some warlock with more legendaries than sense just played a Nat Pagle (currently bugged, only 25% card draw instead of 50%), and then Tinkmaster Overspark'ed my flametongue totem into a devilsaur. Thanks buddy!
He left with 24 life after I cleared the board next turn. Lucky that I didn't have to deal with whatever other oranges were lurking in his deck...

I'm interested in the fact that unofficial tournaments use sideboards even though Blizzard has zero support for them. I wonder if that will change Blizzard's approach or continue to be a split in expectations of competitive play.

I just faced a similar warlock, two of all (!) of the giants, two faceless manipulators, jaraxxus, etc... and he won just barely after going into fatigue. Against my barely-over-commons priest deck with no mind controls (not level 10 yet). Yeah, guy, spam the taunt emote, because it was certainly your skill that won that one
On a related note, I really need to get hold of a Shadowform. Not enough dust yet, though...
I think maybe MC needs a downside. Like it does a few points of damage to the thing being stolen or something.
Though speaking of MC, I just played a warlock who had the most insane card draw I've ever seen. He had me pretty low but he only had 5 cards left in his deck on the last turn. The thing was though, I'd had two MCs sitting in my hand just waiting for him to drop his big gun so I could swipe it and end the game. And he didn't. The highest value minion he ever played was a freaking 6 mana Windfury Harpy.
It was just kinda strange.

Yup, it's like people just assume a deck is good if it has lots of blue/purple/orange in it...
So, I got in last night finally. Got the jankiest picks in arena, but finally hit 9 on my third one.
About the ranking system: is this even a ranking system? I hit masters 3 in the course of a night while unlocking the basic cards for the classes. Only got halfway through too. It's slightly more difficult now where it''s basically everyone just plays 4 attack creatures to avoid priest removal. It kind of seems like 2-3 wins will get you to the next rank. Is that the case?

Won my first game against a human opponent. It was priest on priest and I think I had one more shadow word: death in my deck so I guess I was defaulted the win. Fun game though!
So last night I drafted what I thought was a bit of a beast of a paladin deck. But maybe I over did it on removal spells?
Ended up with 3x Truesilver champions, 4 consecrates, 2 blessing of kings, a blessing of might. Too many spells? I always had those spells in my hand, but boy were the games a slog. Ended up going 5-3, but I thought that was going to be a 7-3 at least. The last 2 consecrates game in my last 5 or 6 cards, maybe I should have left them at that stage?
Followed it up with a priest arena, never got offered any of the removal spells (SW:P and SW:D, holy nova), no shadow form, no soulpriests. Ended up with 1 MC, 1 power word shield, 1 holy smite and a northshire cleric as my only priest cards. I ended up going 4-3 though, so wasn't too bad.
21 cards in the 1-3 mana range, a bunch of removal spells augmented by pocket spell damage if needed, synergistic minions with good value all by themselves, and seperate win conditions in Bloodlust, Ragnaros, and Malygos.
No weapons though, and I'm worried it's spread too thin trying to be everything at once. But then that seems to be the point of Shamans. Shamen. Shaman.
Eveyone should post their ideal decks more! Theorycrafting is fun.
Built a fairly solid paladin deck. Sitting 3-2 at the end of my lunchbreak though. Will see how it finishes up tonight. 2 losses were one to a really long drawn out priest game, and a second to a druid that had pretty much an ideal draw by the look. Game I just finished up got down to 5 cards left. Guess where those truesilver champions must have been hiding!

There is no way there aren't still severe balance issues.
Also, I still can't make it to 9 wins. I always seems to make it to 5 or 7 then tank.
