Khoo, are any of the panels going to be uploaded for viewing by the PA Team? I'd love to watch this Strip Search panel that Jerry is talking about.

If this were animated, I'd have a still shocked looking Gabe slowly start edging his mouth closer to the faux-phallus, (fauxllus, if you will).

Nevermind! Should be somewhere here: http://www.twitch.tv/pax/b/380836937

Now I just need to find it in the reel...

To be fair, I think Khoo picked the two final subjects.

They went back to the suggestion box for a swear word, and it was significantly more tame.
Nope, it was a genuine draw. I didn't fix it.
    Beautiful.

Is there a story behind the random orange line in the second panel?

I don't know why that, of all things in this comic, is bothering me. But it is.

I am so so glad today I was too busy to check the comic at work.

Oh man. That was hilarious and random. Now I can't wait to watch it come to life on Twitch.

I hadn't even noticed. If I was to guess, I'd say it was a mistake because the comic was drawn live, and they didn't do any cleanup work.

Doubt you'll find it there since twitch didn't stream that one.

Unfortunately, the Strip Search panel was not filmed. It's not going to be available on Twitch.

The Make a Strip panel, where this comic was created, should be available about 20 minutes into the Day 2 video that's currently up on Twitch.

I totally forgot to eyeball Twitch TV during PAX East. Is there going to be a Acquisitions Incorporated one? Usually there is not.

  • BaravisBaravis Registered User regular
Yeah, I haven't been able to find it. :(

I hope they continue to draw the "Make a Strip" panel this way in the future. It is very entertaining to watch the creative process take place live.
If they wanted to take some pressure off they could even fill the basket with their own ideas so they would have a head start on the process, but not know the actual combination until show time.

I think there was a question about that in one of the Q&A's this year, and the answer (paraphrasing) was that the live D&D was a PAX Prime only thing. But I believe they also mentioned that they would be willing to do more than that, but that Wizards of the Coast was only currently interested in doing one a year. They also at least implied that if enough people ask WotC about it, there might be a possibility of having one at East as well.

Yeah, I enjoyed it quite a bit more than them having an idea mostly in place already with people at the mics asking for stupid crap to be added to it. (Disclaimer : not all stuff asked for is/was stupid) This way we get the first third to half of the panel being sort of a mini-fourth panel, and the second part of the panel being Mike drawing furiously while Jerry fields questions.

If you think that this is the most bizarre PA comic you haven't been doing it right.

I've been reading PA since '99 and I'm having trouble thinking of one that was more unexpected than this.

I've read every single Penny Arcade comic twice, and I think this is the first one that made me go, "What the...." And I think Tycho's bestiality fetish is comedy gold.

So like you know, do whatever, because it's not like I pay money to look at the strip. But in my humble opinion, drawing a comic based on words pulled out of a hat is an idea that probably sounds a lot funnier than it actually is.

This is no where near the most surprising thing I've seen behind spoiler tags, even on this forum.

@Idolninja, thank you for preparing me all those years ago with SR2. I don't think Mike and Jerry can ever draw anything that will be more insane/bizarre than what you concocted.

Twisp and Catsby were not as vulgar, but just as inane. They have a lot of ludicrous strips, just usually not as vulgar. Which honestly it's not even that vulgar, remember the penis glasses?

Both of the first two links in Jerry's blog post are fucked up. Looks like he typed that one from the Emerald Dream.

PAX fact: This is also how Sunday's Q&A started. With less double headed hot dog fairy.

Then said toy was signed and tossed into the audience post-panel. Good times.

Oh, that wasn't a criticism. I first saw this strip via the Make-a-Strip panel, nearly suffocating with laughter in the process. Part of what makes it so funny is that I wasn't expecting something like that at all.

These are meant to be mostly funny for those at PAX/watching PAX. The end result maybe humorous to others, it may not. But that's kinda the whole point.
