One of the things I love to do every year is pick up a few new dice/board/card games for the house while I'm at Pax. I especially like to grab games that I hadn't heard of or can't find locally to me. This year we picked up:
We Didn't Playtest this Either - we have the first game, grabbed the expansion this year which came with blue cards and the dice expansion as well. My wife teaches kids hospitalized for mental issues (ie depression, drug abuse, ADHD regulation, etc) and her high school age kids LOVE the game so grabbing expansion was required. I'm sure they'll be thrilled with the addition.
Dragon Dice - I sat down and played a demo and it seems like a great fit for me and my son to play together. We have too many games that aren't fun until you get 3 or 4 people involved, so a one on one game is a nice change.
Square Shooters - One of my wife's favorite games ever is a game called Sharp Shooters which is like yatzee but with varying challenges and poker chips for scoring. This feels like that - with the added benefit that the dice can be used for dozens of other games. I picked up the deluxe kid with extra chips, dice cup and score cards.
At PAX East I bought the Cards Against Humanity expansions, because of PAX East I bought Castle Crashers on PC (had it on Xbox 360 but sold it), Bioshock Infinite and voted for a few games on Steam's Greenlight that I hope to buy in the future. Im also thinking of getting Monster Hunter 3 on 3DS as well as Splinter Cell Blacklist.

My wife and I bought Luigi's Mansion on Saturday, and she got her new Pikachu 3DSXL.
Otherwise, I found lots of stuff to watch out for in the future. I'm super interested in Contrast, The Swapper, Outlast, and a shitload other indie games.
I bought Innovation Saturday night, and my brother and our friend played it until 1:30am in the Westin bar area. It's fantastic. It took us awhile to finally understand how it worked, but once we did, we didn't want to stop playing.
I bought a bunch of iOS games when I got home as well. I wished more booths had QR codes set up so it was easy to download the games right then and there, instead of going through all the cards and flyers I picked up. Pwn, Color Sheep, Spaceteam, Major Magnet, Ridiculous Fishing, just to name a few. I haven't been able to get on Steam yet, but I'll be downloading more stuff there tonight
We bought alot this year...King of Tokyo and Power up Expansion, Tokaido, Ascension with 2 expansions, escape, seasons and the cards against humanity 3rd expansion
Sentinels of The Multiverse. I played it once and was instantly hooked, its a cooperative living card game, with a super hero theme. Great quality on the components, excellent art direction, very good re-playability and the mechanics are interesting. This was what I ended up spending more time with than anything this weekend.
I also bought bioshock infinite while walking from my phone, the future rules.

Just grabbed some video games. A found "Captain America and the Avengers" and "Justice League Task Force" for Sega Genesis. And I grabbed up a complete copy of "Virtua Cop 2" for Sega Saturn.
My buddy and I each picked up a copy of Star Wars X Wing so that we can have 6 ships at once in a single game, plus the cards. This awesome guy Sean was doing demos of it all weekend and got us hooked. It's a tabletop aerial dogfight game that was full of entertainment. The core concept reminded me a lot of Steambirds, but obviously was a lot more detailed and involved. I bought it from Pandemonium, who were really friendly and helpful. Ended up sticking around until 11:30 on Saturday playing X Wing until I ran out of gas and had to head home.
We also checked out Munchkin and plan on buying a copy later.
Did anyone check out Mercs? That looked pretty damn cool and the concept of why there were parts of the card cut out to help with blast radii from things like grenades was pretty ingenious. I didn't get a chance to play it, though.

While I agree that being insensitive is an issue, so is being oversensitive.
Really enjoyed playing Pittsburgh '68 which was demoed by the creator. Fun 45 minute card game for 3 or 4 people. The players-turn-into-zombies mechanic was zany and cool. Picked this up right away. Also got a copy of "We didn't playtest ..." but not sure why (impulse buy I guess:))
"Ray's the Dead" looked very promising though the devs said another 12 months unfortunately. Pikmin with Zombies!
I am more into retro games than modern ones, the one game I've been on the lookout for at a reasonable price is Donkey Knog Country 3 for SNES, which I picked up at PAX for $20.
I didn't actually pick up ANY games on the show floor, but I'm planning on picking up the CAH expansions and maybe a few extra games after playing them at PAX.

We picked up Fluxx:OZ, Gauntlet of Fools and Microscope. We meet some great people in TT who joined us to play OZ and Gauntlet on Friday and Saturday. I have a list of Indie games to look forward to also.
I ♥ making awesome crafts! I ♥ my Cookie Brigaders!
CAH third expansion, Space Alert + expansion, and all the expansions for Sentinels of the Multiverse. The fact that the core box for Sentinels fits all the cards from all the expansions complete with dividers for each villain, hero, and location is...well, I gushed at the Sentinels booth for at least a few minutes on how grateful I was that they thought all of that through. I was really impressed with those folks.
Additionally I picked up the Dread sourcebook along with the Murderous Ghosts book. I really could have dropped so much more money than I did...everything was so pretty and tempting.

What do you think of Fluxx: OZ? I'm really curious because my wife wanted it as a huge Wizard of Oz fan. But I was skeptical as I don't know anything about the game (and I'm not an Oz fan). If it's a fun game I might still surprise her with it.
CAH expansion 3 was sold out when I tried to get it. Unfortunately. Didn't buy any other games there, though learned of some new ones I may pick up in the future.
Also Can't wait for Ray's The Dead. Absolutely psyched to buy that when it comes out. The demo was great, plus the second cousin once removed from Stubbs needs to be a part of my family
I picked up a set of zombie dice and the expansion so I could give my iPad a break. Had an amazing time playing while waiting in lines with many fellow Paxers!

Ray's the Dead was pretty fun... like another take on Pikmin, and I mean that in a good way.
We also picked up Sentinels of The Multiverse - was really excited to play it with the creators
Also grabbed a copy of a game we picked initially based on the box-art and timing - Scrumbrawl. Super light and silly, and will probably be a drinking game :P

@Imsorad Fluxx is such an easy game to play with a very simple first rule (take one card and play one card). Your gal would love the Oz version. This is the third version we own.
I also picked up the Penny Arcade and The Guild expansion cards to Munchkins.
I ♥ making awesome crafts! I ♥ my Cookie Brigaders!
I got my own set of zombie dice, Acension - Rise of Vigil. Wish I picked up the Monty Python version of Fluxx but ended up putting it off and didn't have the time to go back.
Most of my attention was set on board games this year.
I picked up
- Marvel : Legacy
- Dominion : Intrigue
- Netrunner : Android
- Arkham Horror
- Ascension : 2 player version
I'm mostly proud of the last three grabs as I got them at 30% discount and saved quite a bit. I did not risk it with Marvel : Legacy since only a few retailers kept it in stock
Ascension looks tempting - as I mention in the OP we have tons of games that are really most fun with 3 or more players that I like grabbing stuff that just me and my son can play.
My wife is out of town this coming weekend so I think I'm going to take him to a tabletop day event nearby, maybe we'll grab a copy assuming they have one. We still don't have any Munchkins or Fluxxs either. Is there any place folks recommend for good board game reviews?

I bought the Resident Evil Deck Builder game, which appealed to me as a fan of A) Deck Builder Games Resident Evil. It's very much a cash-in, but a well done one, so I'm a happy nerd.
My buddy and I each picked up a copy of Star Wars X Wing so that we can have 6 ships at once in a single game, plus the cards. This awesome guy Sean was doing demos of it all weekend and got us hooked.
I think the same guy got me hooked too. Did he have everything imaginable laying out, with a pretty sweet vinyl playmat that looked like the death star?
I ended up ordering the X-Wing Core Set, and the Y-Wing and Tie Advanced online. I picked up Sutakku while I was there which was a really fun push your luck game and an impulse buy. I also ordered Roll Through the Ages after player it there.
A friend of mine purchased Innovation and the Lord of the Rings LCG while she was there, along with Sutakku too. Then she added Hacienda and Tsuro of the Seas to my CSI order so we'd both get free shipping.
Am I the only person who played games at the library and just ordered them from CSI if I liked them? The wonders of free wifi. The prices at the con were a bit outragious. Especially on something like the X-Wing core set which can be had online for $15 under retail, and even brick and mortars like Target have it at a discount.
The game we were most enamoured by was called Red Dragon Inn. Liked it so much we grabbed 1, 2, 3, and every expansion except for the standalone (via Amazon, as there is no way those would have fit in our carry-ons). Still debating whether to grab Ascension or not, as I'm not sure the game had enough interaction between players. Also grabbed Ninja Burger - Secret Ninja Deathsauce Edition.
- Pittsburgh 68 (the creator and his nephew were demoing it, and were great guys. This was a lot of fun!)
- Flame War
- Drinking Quest 2
- Luigi's Mansion
- CAH Expansion 3
- Zombie Dice Expansion
I picked up a copy of Ascension: Rise of Vigil, but I'm not sure it counts since I was picking it up as part of a Kickstarter reward from backing Ascension Online.
In addition I also picked up Mice & Mystics, which I had played before and enjoyed. $50 show price meant it was matching online prices for the game, and being able to get it then and there without shipping (and having a chance to play a couple of chapters during the weekend), was great on top of having the money go straight to the publisher rather than through a reseller.
Tons more I would have picked up, but the weekend was expensive enough as it was
I picked up Luigi's Mansion, Attraction (the game with the magnets), Katsumi Goddess (the card game with anime art that came in a round tin can), and the CAH 3rd Expansion (and all three Promo packs).
Sadly, picked up nothing. I was hoping to do some board game shopping, but every damn vendor was selling games for MSRP. On Sunday, I saw ones for 20% off.....of MSRP. On a daily basis, I can get games for far cheaper than that on Amazon with free Prime shipping or even cheaper on Coolstuffinc with free shipping if I'm buying $100+ of games. And in both cases, I then don't have to worry about transporting them back home.
I think the same guy got me hooked too. Did he have everything imaginable laying out, with a pretty sweet vinyl playmat that looked like the death star?
That'd be the gent, alright. Very sick layout that he had, and I can easily see why he had the customized foam cutouts. If anyone is interested in the X Wing game, please take note that the ship pieces are kind of fragile; very good artwork and the game is totally worth $40, but don't plan on playing with someone who is pretty forceful with things. Also note that the core set comes with 6 dice (3 red, 3 green), and that's it. So far, they don't sell the dice separately, so that's kind of a bummer and contributed to why we bought 2 core sets (other reason was more ships in play at the same time).
My friend is a screen printer, so he said he'll print out a bad ass layout for us to use. We figured we'd just play with the 2 core sets for the time being before going all out on the expansions. Unfortunately, we only get to hang out once a week (silly kids take up a lot of time, but worth it), so I'm not sure how often we'll be playing.
We also discussed the idea of having the asteroids moving 1 movement per turn. Obviously that would create an insane amount of havoc, but it would definitely spice things up a bit more once we got good at X Wing; it'd be like calling your next shots in pool where it just makes it more challenging.
Sorry about ranting. I'm still going through PAX withdrawals.

I have to say on gaming - I picked up Dragon Dice because the demo made it seem pretty easy to pick up and play and have fun. Reading the instructions at home reveals that either he skipped a bunch of rules in the demo or I'm a complete idiot. I swear the instructions are the most overwritten things I've read in ages and every other rule is "if you have the expansion do this..." I don't get why the instructions in a starter kit would be so non-beginner friendly

Played a demo of Ascension, then just had to get this one afterwards. Even picked up the original to have more pieces.
