Anyone having issues with the economy balance should post on the official thread that's just gone up about the issue. I know there have been some comments on jewelry repairs, horse trip costs, wax, and guardian armor when I've been online.
I really like the way the devs have been responding to the community so far.
I've played through the hobbit intro quest and am liking it pretty well. However, I did something stupid. I finished the intro quest which brought me back to the shire. Then I used my map to transport me back to Bree. I had to run back to the Shire, but I don't know exactly where it was that I was supposed to start there. Can anyone tell me exactly where I'm supposed to be?

Little Delving. Head all the way west across the shire to michael delving, then north and west.
FWIW I mapped out of celondim (elven start) to thorin's hall (dwarven start) on my alt. Oh, what a fun run that was, and it was in the fog at night so I couldn't see a damn thing either.
I just figured out you can play music....
Ive been standing in a City playing the first few parts of Stairway to Heaven, making a crowed of about 5-6 people stand around me! Its awesome! I cant wait to see what else that system can do later on.
Okay, I've had this installed since Sun (It's now Tues) and the servers haven't been up once for me ? It's not my PC so maybe it's something to do with where I am (Which I am highly, highly doubting) -- any ideas ?
Don't think there is one but I've been in plenty of North America and/or European alphas/betas before hence why I assume it has nothing to do with my location.
Edit: It turns out, if your account is 'active' and you have '14 days remaining' it actually means 'F off, go get a new beta key.'

Yeah, you can play the naturals and accidentals in one octave, and just the naturals of the next octave down.
The devs have stated that they plan on expanding the system to allow for three full octaves natural and accidental as well as the ability to hold notes (so the flute does not sound horrible). Some comment has been made about a way to allow cooperative music playing that will eliminate the lag barrier as well. Currently the delay caused by latency makes duets pretty much impossible to play in time. Even if you can factor in the lag so YOU hear it right, others around you are not guaranteed the same performance.
We have a musical buff writing up a review of the music system, but I know in my heart of hearts he will NEVER finish the darn review. Too much of a bloody perfectionist. Instead of saying 'duets are hard' he is insisting on trying them until he masters them. As well as compiling a full list of all the chords that work and don't work in the current system, and instructions on how to best manage arpeggios. I can't even SPELL that.
Me? I am lucky to get these meaty paws to make something that vaguely sounds like chopsticks.... played on a lute. I like to chase music lovers around. I think I am going to get petitioned for musical harrasment.
Edit: It turns out, if your account is 'active' and you have '14 days remaining' it actually means 'F off, go get a new beta key.'
Expand please.
I have this that started popping up yesterday at login. My beta key is from our preorder, I have the founders capes and jewelry and such, as well as a few leveled characters that I would rather not remake.
Are you guys still questing after hitting 15? I've hit 15 with two characters, but I think Im going to save any white / yellow quests for when the game goes live. I guess I could just deed / craft whore until then.

I've been doing lower level quests for deeds and crafting, and doing any quest that is dark blue or higher (level 13+) up to the point of turning it in. I think I have about 20 quests ready to hand in now :P Needs to be live noooow. In other news, I can now craft artisan jewellery, but you have to be level 40+ to wear most of it. Need more gems, gold ore and silver ore :P.

I just assumed that it said "X days remaining" because that's the number of days before launch - at which point, you need to buy or your Founder's preorder benefits go away.
Its really fun SniperGuy. I'd play some Stairway to Heaven for you on my Lute but I'm on another server, and you'd probably have to get through the tutorial before I could show you.

Play Freebird! :rotate:
Also, from the dev chat last night:
Sprite - *UMCorian* Any plans to put up 'No Stairway to Heaven' signs in front of the bards Breland?
LOTRO_Patience - I keep asking for it in the next patch. And an NPC that yells "Freebird!" every time someone starts to play. Tens_LOTRO - We actually have stealthed GMs to prevent against that very thing. Constant - Look, don't knock the classic... Keth_Turbine - Well, the sign would have to be lore appropriate, so it would have to say, "No stairway to Valinor." Mithril_Miser - I never really got what was so great about Freebird. Tens_LOTRO - They will delete your inventory... Tens_LOTRO - And your pants. Tens_LOTRO - (Sorry, its late) * Keth_Turbine sings, "I'm as free as a bird now...." Mithril_Miser - Man, I love our test server. I can delete all the pants I want. Keth_Turbine - such pants he will delete! LOTRO_Patience - I'm still waiting for the ability to smash your lute against the ground when you're done with a really killer song LOTRO_Patience - Okay. Obviously, it's time to go home and get some rest. Constant - Thank you and goodnight! Mithril_Miser - THANK YOU GONDOR! WE LOVE YOU! GOOD NIGHT! Tens_LOTRO - Thanks for coming everyone! Constant - *Lutesmash*

Hahaha, that's awesome. I can't wait to work on the music stuff.
Also: I know minstrels obviously have bonuses, but is there any bonus/effect from playing music if you're a non-minstrel? Besides rocking out, that is.

The music system is just for rocking out. Also in either that or another recent chat session they talked about how they were planning on making the game able to read a text file or something for which notes to play, which should help the less musically inclinded of us out.

Negotry. I made a bunch of alts, and I've spent most of time time skilling up Armourcrafting by farming ore, and getting help from fellow Barrovians who rock.
I still have not touched the main story line quests. I need to talk to Strider when I have a group ready. I figure its a waste of XP to do it all now.

Seriously, if I become a minstrel, all I will play would be Javert's parts. Stars for inspiration, One day More for bloodlust, etc.

Easier said then done. I all hear is marry had a little lamb over and over.
OK listen up you scally wags, the brilliant mind(s) behind The Six Mouths (Warhammer Online Pa Guild) has offered up a place to squat on their forums (Thanks Ash), and we shall take them up on that. PA thread is nice, but its not a good place to have a discussion about say, LEADERSHIP and the likes, specific threads about who can make what, what materials people need or trade in and we can plan Barrovian outings and shit.
I'll start playing soon, just had to mess around a bit...
and....
I'm done. *quits forever*

This is me about to get Tolkiepwnd by a level 33 ELITE MASTER (there are Signatures, Elite, and Elite Masters as far as I've seen now) Drake named Bleakwind (and his little warg too) in the North Downs. He was near the entrance to Angmar. Rare spawn if I've ever seen one. I was just trying to get close for a decent screenshot. Not actually stupid enough to tackle him.

I have a question about crafting. If I decide to change my crafting choice, and the next choice shares a profession from the last, will I keep my skill gained or lose it?

So what the hell is up with the Scholar profession? When I'm on my bandit who is a tinker, I can buy my shit from provisioners or whatever then just craft my ass off. When I'm a Scholar, I can't find the shit to farm with, have to BUY my ore/ingots for weaponcrafting, and all the stuff for Loremastery is from drops? Wtf...
Other than the interface (which everyone bitches about, but can be fixed in the future since it's addon-able) here's my two issues from playing it for 2 hours.
-I'm currently addicted to wow.
-Hard to click on mobs/objects (Small click box?)

I would suggest just using the TAB button, since it selects monsters, starting with the closest first. It's also right next to your hand for easy pressing.
As far as I can tell there IS no box. You have to hit a pixel.
Which means if there are trees around and you're trying to hit a plant with no width (only height) and there are leaves in the way... move the camera so you can see it and it disappears. Can't click.

Kinda frustrating.
Bah, I'd rather hit tab, or try and find that pixel, than have to click around in a circle trying to find the corpse I wanted to loot (ala Vanguard). >.<

I've been wondering this as well.
If I do create a minstrel, I will find a way to play all of Javert's parts, but instrumental.
I'll send an email ..
name is Rhonyn for any officer that can invite me. (or do I need to be logged on?)
in any case, i'll be hitting you guys up for an invite tomarrow sometime.

Mob ranks are
Swarm -> Normal -> Signature -> Elite -> Elite Master -> Nemesis? -> Arch-Nemesis?
Not 100% sure on the names for the last two, but they are basically for raid targets.
