Question about the patch notes. When it says I should make a new character/worlds, does that mean all the planets of my current characters Universe (even the ones I haven't visited yet) won't be affected by the changes, or will worlds I have yet to land on be affected?

Well! I have theories. I've built some massive surface installations, and enemies don't spawn inside/on top of them (birds excluded). I have a feeling that enemies don't spawn on player set tiles of certain types. I build with prison materials, mostly.

If it uses similar spawning mechanics as Terraria, beasties won't spawn on player-placed background tiles.

Each world you visit gets a save file, which includes what version of worldgen was used. When you visit a world, if there's a save file, it'll use the specified worldgen information. So unless you go delete those files, worlds you've previously visited won't get the new changes.

There are a whole bunch of improvements to balance here, particularly in the early game.
We aren’t wiping characters or worlds, but if you want to experience the proper balance
you should make a new character/worlds to play it on!
Has anyone found the underground temple with the frog statues and a strange Frog NPC that you can't kill who sells jack crap worth of items?
Yeah, I ran into that guy before the patch. He had... mostly gold picks iirc., tough cheap. And lived in a certain form of "tomb block" milieu that stretched over quite some area. There were also a couple of frog statues that looked like him or his kin.

There's no hope for me bonding with my family this winter
It's in my top ten too. (though I think some of that time is due to forgetting to close the Starbound launcher, which steam counts as having the game running)
And your solution is clear. Buy your family copies of Starbound for Christmas and all play on the same server.

How do I build the third boss?
Not noticing any new build a boss recipes at my metalworking or robot crafting station.
My current project is a floating island with a Glitch fortress on it... I am hoping I may be making it 1/4th the way to Asteroid... then there's going to be another tower that leads to a titanium space station...

I want to explore, but I can't find any coal. Poor Poor Bonjangles Tailwhip is sad. The flashlight is not enough. I mean, I'm a monkey, shouldn't I be able to hold this thing with my tail?
Where are my character files saved? I've made way too many test dudes and need to clear some out.
In X:\\(steam directory)\steamapps\common\Starbound\player. They aren't listed in plain text though (appear as some kind of alphanumeric string), so make sure you make an archive before deleting.

Yeah. If you get them early it's a good way to get a gold pick.
