The DLC are both super short but a lot of fun and tough if you want to do everything
Sam's campaign is way, way harder than Raiden's. His enemies on Normal are at maximum aggressiveness all the time, so that his boss fights on Normal are more intense than Raiden's on Revengeance.
I think the MGS2 demo is a perfect example of people being okay with Ground Zeroes. Mainly cause the first ZoE sorta sucks and tons of people bought that full retail game just to play a demo.

And it's a good thing they did, otherwise ZOE1 might not have sold enough to merit ZOE2, which was amazing.

I really wish that Sam and Raiden could fight Khamsin and that sam and bladewolf could fight the other bosses
though I don't think either of them could take Monsoon, and Armstong would probably be impossible for bladewolf.
So, is it possible to pre-order Ground Zeroes on the PS4? I was looking all over for it and couldn't find it in the ps store. Which is odd considering the ps3 version is front and center.

The only way for Raiden's bosses to give Sam a proper challenge is for them to be as aggressive as Sam's bosses, so the player has to balance whether or not to taunt them
No amount of aggression ramping would keep Sam from tearing the shit out of Sundowner, though
That's probably the biggest reasons all of Sam's enemies are so aggressive: if they weren't, his taunt/STRONG combinations would just trivialize every fight completely

Absolutely. Even Monsoon would need to be faster. Several of his attacks would allow an easy quickdraw* charge afterwards. (*Sam's standing Y/Triangle charged attack is called Quickdraw. It is his fastest charged attack after a dodge. It's the go to charge move you should be using.)
Sam's enemies give you just enough time to land a Quickdraw if you are on point (and I'm talking perfect timing here) after dodging their attacks.
You can also let go of a charged attack slightly earlier than if you just held it down. As soon as the concentric circles on the charge come to a point you can let go and land the charge. If you hold it down he lets go a good quarter second after this point, which is valuable wasted frames. I don't think it has just frame properties or anything. Pretty sure it's just that little extra bit of mastery you can gain that really helps considering the super tight timing requirements for landing a Quickdraw.
On normal, several times against Armstrong, he would do a dashing kick, then immediately do another kick. I would dodge the first kick, then get hit while charging the quickdraw. Trying to dodge during a charge makes Sam release the uncharged version first, so I couldn't even dodge.
So I started reacting to it with blade mode cancel dodges.

I remember playing Metal Gear Solid on the Playstation and hearing The Best is Yet to Come - my Gaeilge was never great, but the words seemed familiar. When I saw in the credits that it was recorded in Temple Bar, Dublin I nearly fell out of my chair!

I don't see a pre-order option either, which is odd.
Oh well, whenever it releases I can just buy it using my phone and then have my console start downloading the game remotely. So, it is not a big deal. But still. Odd.
I totally disagree, personally. Don't get me wrong, Revengeance has a great soundtrack and I love working out to it, and its perfect for the kind of game that it is.
But it doesn't have anywhere near the emotional power, timelessness or beauty of the best songs from MGS.
I could listen to some MGS songs 10 years from now and still have them move me. Revengeance? It's good but when Guilty Gear Xrd's OST hits it will replace it on my playlists.

As someone who loves Gaelige it made me very happy to hear some of it in one of my Favourite game series

I absolutely agree. Some of the songs from MGR are a little too "angst-y," if you ask me.

There's nothing angsty about any of the songs.
They're all about why people fight. Not about why they go and sulk in a corner.
Can we please not start ranking music in here? It brings out the absolute worst in people and I don't want to see this thread devolve into that.

This is true, however, as far as instrumental only goes I don't think anything can top HGW's MGS1 remix for MGS2. That is, for all time, the definitive Metal Gear theme.

It doesn't show up in either column on the store, Coming Soon, Pre-Order, etc. Nor does it show up in the search. Really strange, you think it'd been all over the store front for weeks considering it's history on PlayStation and how the game's creator up and said "Buy it on PS4 please".
Edit: It's now showing up in the store via search - 9:00pm EST. Still not able to buy it, sad face

It is really amusing because I just want to be like: take my credit card Sony! All the moneys for it!!!! But they won't. I feel like a crack addict whose dealer is refusing me.

I will say that I'm generally not a fan of traditional metal(though I love progressive metal) and Revengeance still gets me hyped.

Dammit, Amazon. I chose release-date delivery for Ground Zeroes, you estimated the 18th, but you shipped it out late and it won't actually arrive today. I am sad.

GAME is apparently selling at parity with Amazon, got a gift card so I think I'll be headed in on release day. Maybe they'll have dumb release day tchotchkes.
Man, it's the same day Second Son comes out. And FFX HD remaster. Basically everything I'm hyped for. I am braced for the "PS4 copy yeah?" "no. PS3. Thanks." "BUT BRO. THE FRAMES PER SECOND BRO!"

He was right. Got to the last few seconds of the MGS3 theme and I started tearing up.
This is maybe the only song in the game where I prefer the instrumental to the vocal version
Though it's close

sam would 100% tear monsoon to shreds
in fact sam would tear any of raidens bosses into teeny tiny pieces because of how his design works
Straight up murder.
Because I never think an enemy is going to be staggered long enough for me to get a fully charged attack off.
No amount of aggression ramping would keep Sam from tearing the shit out of Sundowner, though

If only because Raiden's parry counter is a Hell of a lot stronger (generally)
Or is it? Maybe not

Weapon upgrades.
I've seen a no upgrade revengeance run with raiden. Three counters to kill a mastiff.
Sam with a fully upgraded mura would smash the world.
Raiden would have no difficulty with Sam speed enemies. One word: Ripper.
I don't see a pre-order option either, which is odd.

I do like how they prefaced the video by saying Revengeance was excluded because its music was too hype. :P

When Heavens Divide is the best Metal Gear Solid song Y/N?
Does it have the lyrics, "The only thing I know for real... THERE WILL BE BLOOD! SHED!"? Then N. :P
Metal Gear Solid, mang.
Either way, nothing beats "One day, you'll feed on a tree frog."

i plan on having it as the music for when you call in the chopper in mgs5
its a dark night, enemies everywhere, snake makes the call. and suddenly, from the heavens light parts the dark clouds, enemies look up in awe.
"WHEN HEAVENS DIIIIIIIIIIVIIIIIIIIIIIIIDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"
