Dungeon Keeper + A Bit Of Pikmin = Overlord?

So pulled up gamespot today and saw a preview for this game called Overlord.
So imagine Pikmin, but instead of using them for good, you're twisting your will to have them suffer your every bidding. Also instead of cute little plant duders, you have gremlins and goblins at your disposal. This is where the dungeon keeper comes in. It seems that there is a sort of morality scale that you can tip. From what i can gleam from previews and the offical website it looks like there is no true "Good" path, but a simple Evil or Really Evil.

yeah, thats the E3 trailer, it does have a little in game there.
doesn't look like anyone's played it yet in the press either. Supposedly a summer release date, but yeah, this game officially has my interested piqued.
Considering that I'm a huge Dungeon Keeper buff this game really tickles me in the right places. It'll be interesting to see if it'll hold up against the old Dungeon Keeper games.
I don't recall seeing this at E3, but i'm definitely interested. The Dungeon Keeper and Pikmin games were both fantastic, so hopefully this turns out great.
In the trailer it looked like one of the minion goblin dudes was wearing a pumpkin.
And I've been on a Dungeon Keeper / Evil Genius binge all week so this is just spectacular timing.
oh man, I'm playing Evil Genius now. My base is awesome and I've got just the right mix of minions, I just need to get to the second island already so I can start getting rid of those damn Super Agents.
Regardless of how the game plays, I will buy anything made by Triumph because Im a complete Age of Wonders fanboy. I need to go find my Shadow Magic disc and play that again.

The title is in very good hands. The AoE games were great turn based strategy titles often compared to Master of Magic. Triumph seems to know how to make a modern title that evokes the good parts of classic games.
Known about this for a fair few months, and been anticipating.

It's definitly a game i'm going to keep watching, i'm a little tired of SHOOTER SHOOTER SPORTS SHOOTER on the 360, this could be a welcome mid-summer change up.

not very, if i remember correctly.
Edit... hrmmm, apparently
1. Full install Dungeon Keeper 2.
2. Apply patch 1.7.
(if you during installation get an error message saying "Can't run 16-bit Windows Program. Cannot find file..."
then go to Start - Run... and type regedit. Make sure the following key is disabled (set to 0):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem\NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation=0)
3. Install Windows Application Compatibility Toolkit 3.0 (use Google to find it - it's free from Microsoft).
4. Run the program and create a new database.
5. Click Fix.
6. Name of the program to be fixed: Dungeon Keeper 2 - Name of the vendor for this program: Bullfrog Productions.
7. Program file location: Browse for the location of Dkii.exe in gamedir.
11. Choose File and Install and then exit the program.
12. Create a shortcut for Dkii.exe, choose properties and add -32biteverything in the Target commandline
(it should look something like this: "C:\Games\Dungeon Keeper 2\Dkii.exe" -32biteverything).
Yeah I saw this at Gamespot and was happy. I loved Dungeon Keeper, and its always fun being the bad guy, its nice to have the rare game that lets you do that with abandon.
Also your minions will pillage for you, and if you don't keep them on task they will get drunk and goof off. Really looking forward to this one.
I never had to do any of that crazy crap to run either Dungeon Keeper 1 or 2.
Both worked perfectly for me. The only 1 part that ran excessively fast in Dungeon Keeper 1 was anything that scrolled while not in-game such as the high score menus or the map selection.
So is this XBOX 360 exclusive? I hope not. Let it come out for PC, I mean its basically the same platform. EDIT: Yeah its coming out on pc... read the page first .. der

Looks like it's coming out for the PC as well.
It seems this is being released at about the same time I wanted to pick a 360 up anyway. It reminds me a bit of Sacrifice too, which is a big plus.

I wish there was a way to double-lime for truth.
I had to put Shadow Magic away due to sheer mad addictiveness.

looks interesting. I wonder how much control over the minions you get.

I hope it's pulled off well.
But yeah, looks awesome.
Wish Dungeon Kepper hadn't died with Bullfrog.
Reading this made me want to play Dungeon Keeper 2, but it refuses to run for me.

Wow. This Overlord thing looks precisely like Pikmin and Dungeon Keeper had a baby. Hopefully it was Pikmin 2, which was superior.
