I hadn't heard of Wonderboy until a few days ago in the VC thread (I think) and I'm pretty hyped about it now. Damn you people and making me spend money. When I go broke, I know where to place the blame.
I will definitely wire my moneys to the FEKA corporation when this comes out, and probably pick up Dragon's Curse as well. I really like the art style of it, very attractive stuff.

Growing up, at home we always rented the NES. When we went to grandmother's, her places had Sega Master Systems for rent. Every time, at least ONE of the WonderBoy games would come with it.
I've followed the series a bit less after I was a certified Nintendo fanboy, but somehow it stuck with me until recent years when I was able to get my own system at a pawn shop with Wonder Boy and Wonder Boy 3; Dragon's Trap. Then I was reminded why I liked the series so much (or at least figured out WHY I liked it)
More recently, I was able to get the PS2 Monster World Collection, which I made a thread about some 4 odd months ago when it was announced. I'm glad to see Dragon's Curse and WBMW on Virtual Console though.

I'm really surprised they're dropping Curse and Monster World so close together. Tho I guess hudson and sega probably aren't even attempting to coordinate. WB in MW is definitely the snazzier game, I fear Curse is gonna turn some people off of the series.

Man I registered just so I could publicly dork out about Monster World. It's been maybe 5 years since I played this one last. Re-bought the cart but it doesn't load property, guess it or the genesis need a cleaning or something. Extremely hyped for the VC release, playing through Dragon's Curse on it right now even though I have the Hu-card.
Monster World IV is also sweet.
My secret VC fantasy is to see a localized IV and Dynastic Hero show up.. anyone got a US Dynastic Hero they want to sell me? Rarer than Dracula X, arg.
I have the US Version of The Dynastic Hero, but I'm not willing to sell.

I have the JP version but never played it long enough to begin to cope with the language barrier. What it really boils down to for me is bugs being rad, I guess. The bug appeal is immense. erhg, um. and obsessive collecting.
Worse graphics, CD audio, added cutscenes and bug costumes aren't worth $300 I guess.
God DAMMIT. I was so close to beating Wonder Boy but then for some reason when I died, I skipped right past the continue screen and went back to the title. I think my finger might have bumped select which I think counts as skip. I was so close to beating it too. I was in area 7 round 2. I used so many continues though that if it was in an arcade, I probably would've spent about $100 but I didn't care. I was determined to win and I wasn't going to let them win. Then they won It took me so long to get past those stupid areas with the spiders in weird as hell formations but I had died so I no longer had my axe. I don't know if I have it in me to try again.
