Fast way to grind exp we found, do the [Advanced] quest for 3x gigginox when its available... we had one guy paralyze it with duals, 2 hammer users and a SA. It basically went paralyze, KO, shock trap, knocked over then dead. About 5-6 mins to kill all 3 for around 3000 exp I think it was. They basically die in the same spot they landed in, pretty hilarious.
Since [Advanced] quests aren't always the same, we did the 3x barrioth one if no one had the other one since it's about the same amount of time... not as quick since he moves around more.
Lots of Tru Armorsphere's from all the exp grinding too. Rank 64 now... still a lot armors and weapons I wanna get.
You know, as I was killing a couple Arzuros to build up another Pecospander to go for the Sparqlepeco, it kind of hit me, man, really says something about this game that giant armored bears are the game's less-than-tutorial enemy. And I guess that's why we love it.

Stamina armor skill plus URL swords is really the best combination, I am pondering what else to choose. Grinder is a no brainer, cause DS loses sharpness so fast, I wonder if I should do the status/element or something else. Attack up seems orthless, maybe evasion...any thoughts from other DS users?

The only problem with Barioth X (and other long coat/dress types) is the back part doesn't move so you have this weird clipping thing with your feet popping out of it whenever you run around. That said, it looks damn sexy when you're standing around looking badass.
I lucked out with an evasion +6 charm, so I'm able to pump it to evasion+2 and get rid of the stamina recovery down. Not sure what to do with the spare slots though, I guess boosting I've damage for when I get a better ice weapon.
That is true, I'll just have to make sure I pose dramatically every now and then.
I've got an Evade+6 charm, so I could boost it to evade+2 and get rid of the Stam Recov Down, buuut I've also got a Stamina+5/Expert+9 gem which lets me get Marathon Runner, Crit Eye +1, Stamina Conservation +1 and Evade +1 (which is still pretty good now that the hitboxes mostly work, just means you have to work a little harder to dodge through roars) unfortunately as Stamina Recov gems come with -1 Evasion I can't gem that out without losing the Evade+.
Marathon runner plus stamina conservation are hilariously useful for Dual Swords; in demon mode your stamina drops at least half as quickly, which lets you use it a bit more freely and then you can dodge twice as many times in succession thanks to stamina conservation, it's awesome.

As you can see there are lots of slots left on it, and there are different ways to do the same thing with mix-matching Narg X/Z where you get Evasion+2, Evade Dist, Focus. Use a mega dash juice and you become a fucking ninja.

There are enough slots still there to put in a lot of different stuff. The charm isn't really needed, since you can just gem 5 slots with evade dist+1 and then use whatever charm you want for the 4th skill. If I ever get a handicraft charm with enough points on it I will be adding that. For now I just swap out element up or fast sharpening.
Being able to evade head on into stuff is great though. I never really had fun with Brachi using my other weapons, just was kinda boring.... but with that setup hes a blast.

The last time I was on, for funtimes I threw on my High Rank Rhenoplos set (for the Focus), chugged a bunch of Mega Dash Juice, and went after Brachydios with a few folks from this here forum. THat was so much fun, dashing around like a ninja never gets old. I want to have a group where you guys, the other three, are all using Dual Swords, and I'll bring a Hunting Horn that has Negate Stamina Use. The fun is going to be hilarious. I'll be your Splinter, and you guys can be my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...you can choose any three, we'll just pretend that the fourth one gorged himself on pizza and is lying in bed.

Heh, anytime I have a hunting horn player using that buff I go with that evade duals set in the link. Brachi is easily the funnest fight with that setup, you can just evade-dash with him as he does all his silly jumps and odd turns.

I found Brachidios pretty fun with a Lance. He can do all his fancy jumping and flailing, but then he gets ballsy and attacks you, and promptly gets jabbed in the face till he falls over.

I went to go fight my first Rathian. I saw the cutscene when she flew down, but when it ended, she was nowhere to be seen. Cue me spending literally 30 minutes trying to find her before saying fuck it and leaving.
And I brought only healing potions with me, nothing to gather resources either, which is a shame as I would have waited out the timer and gone back with some more stupid Carpenterbugs or something.

He shows up pretty quickly, not until after you start hunting bigger monsters though. You'll get an urgent quest for him fairly early on.
