I think it's just Brachydios in an arena with a set equipment.

Well, if you like Brachydios, the new DLC is a Brachydios challenge.

What is it though? 3 or 4 of them?

    kill it in 30 minutes.

No idea of you get parts as a reward. Be cool to have a slime weapon early.

This is a general question for all monsters but I'll use an example. When I break the R. Ludroth's crest and/or mane, I see a white sparkle drop. I am looking for a R. Ludroth crest, so I'm hoping the white thing is a crest. Usually though it's a dash extract or a wyvern tear. I don't think I've noticed it ever be a crest, but I do have one in my inventory so maybe my memory is foggy. Are the white sparkle things ever animal parts?

    To my knowledge, no.
However, once you are done with the quest or free hunt, it should be in the rewards box. The top section is the regular brown/red, but the bottom section is blue, and is labeled something like "Wounds". That is where you would get the mane. The tail can be carved from the tail itself, if you sever it, or in the rewards. You have a higher chance of it being in the rewards if you sever it. You have a significantly less chance of it being in the red section if you capture it, and almost no chance of it appearing if you kill it but do not sever the tail or mane.

  • PikaPuffPikaPuff Registered User regular
They can be, depending on the break. R ludroth example, that's a tear.

Barroth breaking off mud pieces, that can be a fertile mud drop.

YOu can actually get low-grade monster parts from the sparks. I've gotten R.Ludroth Scales from the shinies. It's rare, you're more likely to get Tears or whatnot, but you can get monster parts from shinies. Don't bother trying to get a Plate though, that'll never drop, it's very specific to parts that you'll get by the boatload anyway.

No, like all loot tables, it depends. On some monsters it's a 2%+ drop. Yes, even rubies.

Actually, the shinies that a Rathian drops when she flies off and replenishes her stamina by savaging some herbivores CAN be a Plate, from what I hear.

Secret Stash good for money! I generally ignore the sparkles, though. I know I shouldn't, but I'm too focused on the task at hand to worry about what's there. I now see that I have been making a grave misstep and missing out on at least 20 Rathian Plates and 10 Uragaan Rubies!

First Stygian zinogre part I found was in a shiny.

    Page 2? Nonsense.

And yeah, sparkly things can definantly be monster parts. I seem to recall the best way to farm Heavenly Rathalos scales in Unite was to flash bomb him out of the sky to get his shiny, then chop of his tail and carve. If you don't get what you wanted just restart the quest!
Oh boooy, not looking forward to farming Mantle's in Tri U.

Also I think I'll probably try and make all the G-Rank armour sets, they all look really cool. Apart from the bear stuff I guess, that's boringly the same as the low rank set.

  • ElderlycrawfishElderlycrawfish Registered User regular
Arzuros is an excellent harvesting set that is pretty much the G rank equivalent of leather armor.

It might not be pretty but its great to have for resource gathering.

Oh I'm sure it's a fine set, but I'm all about the visuals here, and it looks lame and, even worse, it looks the same lame it did in the lower ranks.

But I'll probably build it eventually regardless, when I need to get my gathering on.

I want the most trolly armor possible as a male with the magia charm graphic. Kirin helm would be nice for that purpose for the unicorn look, but sadly he, and his armor that would look sweet as shit in HD with the shiny-factor, is not in the game.

Was also very disappointed at pink rathian's armors for male; thought they'd match the magia better.

I forgot about, essentially, the entire armor changing on Bnahabra. Made it in Tri to run around in a purple tux with a jaggi mask while using purple gobul weapons. Add the chromatic/shiny aspect of it in TriU and that may be the route to go then since it looks like Butterfly is the female equivalent of the male Alecueth (not bothering to check the spelling on the bug armor that's close enough) armor.
