I hate to say it but this thread is devolving into a forum game. It makes it kinda useless for people looking for updates like me.
I do agree with you. But I think we're done with updates now. I think the next update will be "Tickets are on sale" followed shortly after with "Tickes are sold out".

Which is usually in it's own thread and hopefully won't be buried in this one.

Any real information will be posted in an obvious location. People want to speculate, and this thread exists to keep that speculation out of the FAQ thread.
Has PA thought of a lottery ticketing system?
One where you sign up to enter into the lottery and tickets get released to you at random?
Or at least a personal dedicated sign up day/time for you to buy your tickets?
That way there wouldn't be a crazy mad rush of people trying to buy their tickets all at once.
I do kinda wish that they set a fixed time so that people could book it off to get the tickets. This "random drop" approach just makes people antsy and/or bitter if they miss it for being out of the data sphere during the mad 4 hour rush.
Counterpoint - having a set time is more likely to turn things into ComiCon, where everybody camps the site and tickets run out in three minutes, as well as enabling scalpers that normally wouldn't be lurking.

I think having it happen at random ensures that the forum stalkers like us get tickets. Although I would like to know when the tickets will go on sale, I much prefer it this way!

There is a thread in the Debate and Discourse subforum exploring alternate methods of ticket selling.
I advise reading it for a bit, as many options that people will think of have already been thoroughly discussed. That doesn't mean discussion can't continue, but don't assume you're offering a fresh new idea off the bat
Man, old discussions are looooong. And that one is full of argue argue argue. I just want to know the best way to sell tickets to highly desirable events. Dern' it nerds, lets get those brains working.

To sum it up: There (probably) isn't one. When you have 100 people who want to go to an event that has room for 10 people, 90 people are going to be disappointed. No matter how you distribute them, there will still be 90 people without tickets. So the next logical step is trying to find a fair way of distributing them. Unfortunately once you start digging into it, the concept of a 'fair' distribution turns out to be really subjective. If this kind of logic seems uninteresting to you, then take it on good faith that the folks running PAX really do care, and that a lot of smart people have tried to come up with a better system and haven't been able to yet. That being said, the current system is biased towards those of us camping the official channels like hungry eagles, so sign up for twitter notifications and join us as we wait anxiously on our techno-stoop!
I put my money on tomorrow morning. Common big money!
Hopefully it's my last day of where I can stalk my computer. It's either tomorrow or the 18th.
Didn't OnPeak say something about "later this week" on Tuesday? I predict tomorrow as well. While OnPeak isn't PA, I can only assume they're referring to the reservation system opening up, and PAX Registration is always on weekdays anyway.
@Lazorz OnPeak has exactly zero to do with opening up badge registration.

What Zer said and I'm moving closer and closer to conspiracy Keanu that serenity pulled the biggest troll on us.
But honestly even without serenity chiming in i was predicting probably tomorrow or next week at the latest. They said it would be about a month, about a month ago. So it just fits.
So on Tuesday I emailed onpeak and asked about when they would start reservations and I got a response yesterday with a link that said hey go here. When I clicked on it it had the landing page for the 2013 PAX reservations but when selecting the PAX group it asks for a password. The email didn't have a password though

It's probably something official they weren't supposed to send you. But that does make it seem like they're really close to releasing tickets since they're trying to do everything at once this year. So *crosses fingers for tomorrow*
Getting it early is unfair to everyone else. Don't mean to sound rude but I'm very happy you got no password. They shouldn't be giving that out yet.
I totally agree with you. I was just trying to see if I might be able to get some insight on when it would happen not get a link to it. It just goes to show that some people with onpeak have no clue what they are doing...
OnPeak has a history over the past couple years of either not having the right information when it comes to making this sort of thing public, or simply not using that information.
Since there is a password, I am 100% certain that it is not available for public use and they should not have given it out to just anyone. Obviously not *your* fault, but still sucks.
Good morning, wonderful forum people! Perhaps today is our lucky day. I did finally get the permissions changed on the Google doc for the pool, so if your name/time isn't currently there, you may put it there.

Gotta transfer funds to my CC :-D
Don't think so. I was testing my phone to see if I could get tickets on it when Aus still had some and I only remember seeing CC/debit

I would suggest subscribing to SMS Twitter updates from them as well.
Great way to stay updated if you're on the go during the day.
Tweets go straight to your phone via text message.
