Been lurking but I have to contribute here. Haven't the PAX passes always gone on sale after Tax day (April 15)? I am guessing next week is the big day...

I am not certain something as periodic as pax prime badge sales can really go off of previous history. There have only been about 10 badge sale dates ever, and between each one significant changes to the system and its environment have occurred.

Going by SkeleVader's ticket launch/sellout time spreadsheet, only recently (2011 and 2012) have tickets gone on sale on/after April 15th. Of course that trend could continue, or we could see a c-c-c-combo breaker and have tickets go on sale today.

Getting it early is unfair to everyone else. Don't mean to sound rude but I'm very happy you got no password. They shouldn't be giving that out yet.
I totally agree with you. I was just trying to see if I might be able to get some insight on when it would happen not get a link to it. It just goes to show that some people with onpeak have no clue what they are doing...
I seriously hope nobody leaks the link again this year...
Having that happen last year was a major piss off.

How has OnPeak still not learned how to not hand out links and give us information? Like I'm honestly baffled that going on what 3 years and 6 coconventions they still either give out links(working or not) and information they shouldn't. Because let's be honest the reason any of us were hopeful about this week is because of what they sent Serenity

Because I assume they do a whole lot more events that don't care when the link is released.

also, unless you have the password, not a big deal.

This time. I missed it but didn't they give out a bunch of links early last year that didn't require a password?
And Skele I can't think of any event that would want information or links released early. So unless PAX gets its own special team I can only think/ hope that it would/should be company policy not to release anything for any convention early

They sent out a courtesy E-mail letting people know the site had gone live, which I am sure is their standard practice.
I would bet that most events they handle are business conferences and such. These types of events want the link posted as soon as it is live so their attendees can start making plans. They don't have the concern that things will get bombarded with 100,000 people and sell out crazy fast.
I agree that they should not leak the link, but I can understand why it happens. (This is all just speculation on my part and I have no real knowledge of how their system operates)

Every time I come to the forums, when I see this topic, all my brain reads is "Pax Prime Badges .... Sold" and I get a mini-spasm. Hoping it's next week... >.>

Beginning to think they read this thread and decide not to release when they see us talking about that day being the day. Like if no one mentioned it I bet tickets would have been put up

I promise you, they can care less what happens in this thread.
And it's gonna be today. I just woke up from a very real dream that they announced them. That's got to be a sign
Last year I decided I was going to skip East and make my next PAX my first Prime. I had a very real dream a few nights after that decision.
I was standing in what my brain decided was the main queue for the Keynote/Opening (I've never been to Seattle) and I thought to myself "This red carpet on the walls is fantastic, they really went all out." It was packed too. Next thing I know someone is handing me a swag bag and it is filled to the brim with Luigi hats. I don't remember much after that. I do recall waking up and feeling super excited. My subconscious perception of PAX is really weird.
EDIT: Staying on topic - yeah looks like my spot in the pool has come and gone

My dream was actually me waking up, checking my phone and seeing they were on sale, then buying tickets.
I was totally sure today was going to be the day, but apparently not ((((
Hopefully the new guy and his birdie are right and we get them Monday or Tuesday.
I hope it doesn't happen on the weekend. Yeah I have my phone set to go off at any of their tweets but I can camp the forums and the site at work; I'm out doing things on the weekend, LOL!
This thread has no bearing on when tickets are released.
LIES! He's just trying to throw us off the trail! Stop trying to read my brain waves!
Zer is actually Mike. A guy on the internet told me so.
EDIT: We've all been taking about when they're gonna go on sale but has anyone thought about what they're gonna cost?
Personally I thinking/hoping we'll see 1 days going for $35-$40 and 4 days going for $115-$130.
That way one days aren't super expensive, and the 4 day passes would offer a discount over purchasing four single day passes without having the problem we currently do of a 3 day being cheaper than two 1 day passes essentially getting an extra day for less than the price of two.
The price at PAX East this year was $35 a day or $70 for 3 day. So continuing in that pattern, I could see PAX Prime costing $35 per day or $105 for 4 days, getting one free day. But that seems off to me, because a lot of people will only go 3 days, so aren't really saving money by buying that 4-day pass. So I think instead a 4-day pass will cost $95 or $100, to encourage people to get the 4-day pass.

Even if 4-day passes cost the same as four individual day badges I'll still get the 4-day pass.
I'm guessing 4-day prices may go a little more expensive than three single-day passes to drop the demand on the 4-days. The complaint before was that the 3-days were so cheap that people who had no intention of going all three days would get them because it was such a good deal. By adding the fourth day, they're adding supply of single-day passes. If they raise the prices of the 4-days, they'll drive down demand. If I were trying to ensure that 4-days didn't sell out in 4 hours again, that's what I'd do.

The last four Prime dates have been Feb 19, Apr 5, Apr 15, Apr 25.
Here is my sheet detailing those dates.
And while what peetsnack says is true, it is still fun to analyze & speculate.
