every one has to agree though that it feels good to have some sort of pinny arcade pin on you're lanyard.
I was considering adding a wearable set to my collection (Basically extras anyway).
I really like our pinny arcade community though, we're awesome imo.
Anybody afraid of losing their pins should look into getting some locking pin-backs. You can get a pack of 12 of them for about four-five bucks off amazon, cheaper if you ebay it. There's a couple different kinds, so I'd recommend the ones that don't require an allen wrench to put on/take off, both because they're easier and because those ones can damage the pin if you're not careful.
I have these ones, and they work great. You can shake your lanyard and the pins won't even move, but when you want to take them off (to trade, for example) they snap right off.

Keep in mind, that you should keep the original backing for trades.
More secure clips are a good idea but trades should be given in their original (official) state.
Also; bearing personal safety in mind. is there some way we can agree on a "ask me about pin trades" etiquette. For instance, an exposed blank lanyard or just the pinny arcade logo pin (if you have one)
Keeping your pins safe is paramount but the only way to trade in person is to ask.
Yea, if you are swapping sets or just trading a full set for some other pins, backing is big. Keep that shit miiiiiiint.
I know I am only keeping 2 of the Prime pins, so I am hoping the whole set gets to me in one piece and the board is kept decent to be able to be traded. Everything is worth something, even if it is nothing to you. Having that backing can make the difference in getting the pin you want and not getting it.
Keeping the pins tradeable is why I suggested these ones and not the screw-on bolt ones that most people use (they tend to be the only ones I see Disney pin traders use). Those can damage the pin, and with repeated securing/removing, weaken or even break the spike right off, rendering them useless for trades. These ones do no harm to the pin.
Since the DLC Kickstarter pin is the only "Limited Edition" backing we've currently seen in the wild, I suppose we can expect the 15th Anniversary pin to be similarly difficult to procure.
I highly doubt they only make 250 15th Anniversary pins. Maybe 1000. 250 is waayyyyyyy too low for something this big. Limited Edition can also mean for a limited time, as in not limited number of them available.
This seems unlikely.....but what if they limit it to people registered to the forums for x years.....probably not, many of us have been fans longer than we've been forum members.
also pa wiki says November 18 was when they started

I've been registered here since December 2003 (and lurked well before that). Sooooo, I am fine with this method.
I don't think they would take that kind of approach, too elitist.
It may be something as simple as only x many available or only available for the week of their anniversary.
If It was only available for say, a week with ample stock and the (probably very few) remaining added to blind boxes or staff trades for later Paxs.
Also, I think it's official now. We are Pin Pals

im not!!!!! i joined up last year when they announced PAX Aus, have been lurking for a while before that though.
Ditto. Reading since almost the beginning, only joined the forum because I was finally able to go to PAX. (Too broke during the early years, too asleep during ticket registration later on, too working abroad, etc.) http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/1998/12/09 was my first PA comic, back when a bunch of us were studying for a qualification which no longer exists. Jesus, I'm old.
I doubt they would use forum sign-up length for this. The Venn Diagram of PA fans who are: (A) collecting Pins; (B) on the forums; and (C) aware of this tweet; shows ever smaller circles.
I was just about to say how awesome it is that they have seen the community we are becoming and that we have dubbed ourselves Pin Pals!!!
What I am really looking forward too is the display case that I am hearing so much about, do you think that they are going to allow for the card backing to fit in like Redfield85 has his framed?
Also excited for www.pinnypals.com !!! check out grgemonkey's progress guys!
Do they even have $20 Disney pins? Not counting eBay of course. I figure the most is like $12-15.
Yes they do. Some of the limited edition and park pins hit $20. They used to auction off insanely rare pins on ebay too. Some of those had editions of only 10 or 15.
Hey all, just joined the forum today so I could post in this thread. I've already started my collection of pins, but I'm looking for some pin partners. I go to PAX East every year, but it's harder to get to the other shows. I would be willing to get pins for someone at East if they can do the same for me at Prime and/or AUS.
I realize it might be a bit late this year, but I do have a handful of East 2013 Chandra heads if anyone is up for a trade.
So, do any of you Primers plan on getting extra Strip Search pins? I have someone getting me a Prime set and possibly the Strip Search pin, but not guaranteed.
Out of all the non-PA pins (well, you know what I mean), the Strip Search pin is one I really want.
i REALLY want a strip search pin...but all my tradables have been accounted for at the moment...hoping someone would consider trading for next years aus pins for it, we'll see what happens after prime though

Hey Pin Pals, I was just wondering if I could ask if anyone has a spare core set 2013 card backing from one of their spare trading set?
Reason I ask is there was some sort of error with the printing or packaging or something with the ones sold at PAX AUS and they all say PAX EAST 2013 on them.
So it would be awesome to have a card backing that says CORE SET 2013 on it for when and if I frame mine like redfield85 (except I hope to have a complete 2013 set or close to it )
I know there's a few people hunting all the pins, I was one... but after seeing the newer pin sets it will be nigh on impossible. Not anything new, I know. But what I find myself doing is planning for pins I really want.
For instance. I really wamt the loading ready run pin plus the chainsawsuit and strip search pins. Which I will need to trade for... I'm not sure if those particular groups of awesomenauts will attend PAX Aus 2014. But things like the behemoth pins I wouldn't be able to stop with one. I would need them all. So my question is to all. Where are you drawing the line?
man, now im bummed that i didnt keep my card backs, everyones mentioning theyre collecting them! i threw the first few out because i planned (and still plan) to put them all up on a cork display board, probably the one PA will release in the future. Though i still have the Limited Edition DLC card back.
And reneguage, i plan to just get as many as i can. Being in Australia, my chances of getting a complete set are limited even further, so trying not to get too disapointed about not having all of them. As long as this awesome community stays active there will be plenty of chances for us to help eachother out.
Staying away from ebay as much as possible, generally the prices are too expensive, but i wont say no to a good deal if i find one.

November?
That's my thinking, the question is will they release it at the beginning of the month, on the 18th or some random time?
Also, how limited is the Limited Edition? 250, 500, 1000, more?
