Does anyone know the minimum amount to reserve a console at Gamestop? Thought I'd throw some money down for the Animal Crossing bundle, to give me incentive to slowly pay it off. I figure it's either $25 or $50.
It's not that the +pad is bad, but it's too low on the face of the device, so makes my thumb curl too much.
And the XL is glorious, I really love mine. It looks better when closed or opened, the bigger screen is gorgeous even with the same resolution, and the 3D effect works better.
Yeah I think the d-pad may be my only complaint about soul hackers so far. All the stick seems to do is move the map. Why not flip them or make it an option?
Damn I need to sit down and finish the first one...
Alot of people tend to bitch about Nintendo's release calendar being sparse, but I love the random surprise here and there. Dillon 2 dropped much earlier than I expected.
I guess with LttP 2 coming out it's not outside the bounds of possibility that they'll do a special Zelda XL. Although you might have to tolerate a pre-installed copy of those EVIL SHADERS (boo hiss).
I went to pickup Fire Emblem tonight, and the bloke in the store was trying to get me to pre-order DKCR. I already own this game. Why do I need a portable version. Why do I want a portable version right now. Why.
Honestly, I hope there's a free game promo or something with it. I'm looking for any excuse. I usually frown at ports, but come on, DKCR portable version.

The answer is that you need it because it includes a brand new world with 8 new levels.

I finally set up SwapNote (and am now embarrassed I haven't done so before after the deluge of notes), but when I was doing so I accidentally missed on my birthday and confirmed absent-mindedly. Any way to fix that?
Anyone? Help?
Nobody loves me
Isn't your birthday tied to your Mii?
If not, there should be something in the system settings. I'd check, but I don't have access to my 3DS.
Nope, SwapNote doesn't use Miis. It's also not tied to your system profile, where the birthday is correct. I didn't miss by much, went with 11/26/ instead of 11/25, so not a huge deal, but I'd rather fix it if I can.
I decided to take a look at my Activity Log for the first time, to see if I've really gotten my money's worth out of this thing. Top Ten:
Mario Kart 7 - 21:27
OoT 3D - 9:18
Mii Plaza - 8:02
KI: Uprising - 6:23
StarFox - 4:31
eShop - 3:52 (lolwut?)
3D Classics KI - 2:32
TheatrhythmFF Demo - 1:39
Nintendo Video - 1:32
Pokedex 3D - 0:49

In two years, that's it. Ouch.
You only played the Theatrhythm demo? You need to fix that. And maybe you should look at games that have been released in the last year.

Impulse bought Ocarina of Time 3D on the eShop because I never beat the original. Blown away at how well done this is, I was really just expecting a basic port. The game looks amazing.
At least they moved roll to a button. The long roll jumps were a pain to pull of on the wii. Stupid shaking.
I didn't find they were difficult, and in fact I thought they felt more natural when mapped to a shaking motion, especially when you used the Wii Remote & Nunchuck combo.
...but some people can't seem to wrap their brains around motion controls in general, so I forgive you.
You're not going to make any friends with posts like this.
My opinions in general are a complete 180 from the popular opinion, so I'm not terribly concerned with making friends.
No worries Max...my thinking runs pretty much in line with yours, including your thoughts on motion control.
How the hell did you manage to eke out 300 hours on the thing in 2011?
Ocarina of Time 31:14
Radiant Historia 30:53
Resident Evil Mercenaries 29:58
Ghost Recon Shadow Wars 21:37
Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones 20:13
Swapnote 17:14
Alphabounce 13:43
Mario Kart 7 13:01
Mario 3D Land 11:53
Link's Awakening DX 11:46
Ridge Racer 3D 10:25
Just adding up the hours on those, that's 206. Lots of others that are less than 10 hours like Time Hollow, Mario's Picross, Pushmo, and SSF4.
I bet a lot of the time in Swapnote was just clearing out notes that everybody kept sending, or maybe I forgot and left it open for part of the day once.
At the bottom is 18 hours in "other," whatever that is. Idling on the main screen for minutes at a time?
Is there any button combination that does anything to 3DS VC NES games aside from switching between controller 1 and 2? I'm talking like full screen mode or anything.

Eugh. They may as well take my money now.
On a similar note, I'm resisting the urge to repurchase Mega Man 2, and 4 when it drops over here.

The Animal Crossing one is okay, but seems just a bit too cluttered. Might go for it anyways.
The Fire Emblem one wasn't an XL or I would have gotten it for sure.
It was in Europe.

In other words I liked the controls in DCKR.
