Okay folks I got a question....should I get this system? I'm terrified of this going the way of my original DS and being fantastic on release but having no one to play with if I get in too late. With X & Y and Smash Bros coming...I'm finding it hard to resist. (I realize getting in NOW is considered quite late...)

MH3U is the shit, dude. No online, but packed to the gills with content. If you missed Tri then you're in for a treat.
i downloaded oracle of ages and thought id probably never play it through it again and 1 day later im over half way through just got the cane of somalia. game is basically one dungeon after another after another with minimal fetching shit in between which is why its one of the best zelda games. i'm not sure if any dungeon tops LA's eagle tower but pretty close.
i forgot all about the seed shooter and how well it straddles the line between annoying/tedious and challenging. its like 'man can i bank this fucking shot already' and thats exactly when it does.
i don't remember how to do all the puzzles off the bat but really the whole series has formulaic themes so nothings real hard if you just take 30 seconds to look at the situation.
I just started oracle I ages this morning Beat seasons last night, decided to do that one first since its the one I've played before but I barely remembered anything from the game. The Roc's Cape rocks. I feel like a boss when fighting with the thing just flying all over the place.

Animal Crossing feels more like a daily commitment while Fire Emblem can be played more at your leisure. There's more to do consistently in FE because it doesn't depend on another day passing. I think FE would be good.
How often will you have a wi-fi connection? You mentioned traveling and camping, so presumably not all the time? Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but FE seems like the more no-internet friendly option. (I own neither game, and it always hurts a little inside.)

Definitely yes. Most Gamestops have a big rack full of Facebook/online/etc game/gift cards which includes eShop cards (I think in $20 or $50?). That's where I got my $20 card for a couple games.
