That's pretty lame. Square's marketing of the series is sparse enough (which, yes, is both a blessing as it is frustrating. I'd hate for them to go the Gainax route with their merchandise, but a few extra figures, statues, and animes wouldn't hurt), but this was a pretty well done video, and it wasn't like they were trying to do this behind Square's back. They could've just compromised.
You must have been one of those guys that got pissed off when Square shut down the fan made 3D Chrono Trigger.
I was, but at the same time I wasn't the least bit surprised to see what happened. It is extremely frustrating to see a company defending an IP they don't even use anymore.
Just watched this. First off let me say that the Video was good. It was shot very well and re-created my favorite scene from the movie. Both of the actors looked perfect in their roles especially Tifa
I liked the song as well. but then again I am big fan of C-pop, K-pop and J-pop so take that for what it's worth.
While I am disappointed that Square hit them with the cease and desists order I am also not surprised at all. However it might have been in square's best interest to say "OK guys what you did was wrong there but pay us some cash for the license and put a little ad at the end of the Video for FF VII: AC and we'll call it a day" That way they get some money and advertising all in one swoop.

Looks like Square is finally doing something about it
I was kind of looking forward to a sequel.

Song sounded like something you'd expect to hear in DDR.
(I'm pretty sure Konami has disavowed all knowledge of its existence by now)
