Looks like the Deathstroke DLC is coming to Wii U.
Warner Bros. Interactive have confirmed the preorder Deathstroke content for Batman: Arkham Origins will be available for Nintendo Wii U.

Over the past few months there’s been an ongoing discussion as to whether the preorder content will or will not be available, a discussion fuelled by conflicting retailer advertising.

Though with a statement from the game’s publisher handed to Aussie-Gamer this morning, we can all put to rest any doubt or concern surrounding the preorder content and its availability on Wii U.

The Deathstroke content pack allows players to play as the character Deathstroke in Batman: Arkham Origins‘s challenge mode, two character skins and two additional challenge maps.

i am. I wished arkham city would never end.

I hate game developers who mess with core gameplay between sequels just for the sake of it, and I'm super glad that the Arkham games have retained a familiar gameplay between them.

after beating NG+ and doing all the challenge rooms/campaigns i was pretty fucking over arkham city personally. it was a reall ygreat game but that pretty well burned me out on the whole thing. am i remembering right that origins reuses a lot of the city too? i think i remember reading that somewhere.

I sincerely hope they're not implying that's all of Gotham. Hopefully there will still be some other islands you can't get to in this game.

and her costume is actually pretty modest for an arkham game. Also I will never not be in the mood to play these games, ive played 1 and 2 to death and the dlc and all the challenge modes. More. MORE.

I think it helps that comic-book lore and settings translate so damn well to the way video games are framed and paced.

Also I never pre-order games, because ordering them online literally saves me half their price in Australia, so im hoping eventually deathstroke will be purchasable individually

Even if they re-use some of the map it should still be different, considering the differences in time (years I believe?) between the games means they can make them look different while still being similar.

IIRC, when the demo for Arkham Asylum first hit, you were pretty staunchly against it and didn't see what the big deal was while everyone else was gushing with anticipation

Oh yeah!! Woah thats crazy. I actually am like that with a lot of demos, I play them in a bad mood or dont give them a proper shot. When I finally played the actual opening to Asylum it blew me away, I immediately bought City as well and have played them both to death, I love them!

Yea, this multiplayer is pretty doomed from the start. Noone will play because everyone wants to be Batman, and not random goons.

Edit: Plus because Splash Damage is a terrible developer.

how did Gotham City Impostors do? did enough people play it to suggest that there's demand for multiplayer Batman? or are they just making a Batman themed version of Splinter Cells 'Spy Vs Merc' mode?

It's because most companies have a 'must add multiplayer mandate' now.

In the end it usually means there is a tacked on multi mode that people play for the first week and then it's a ghost town. This will be no different.

But, but multiplayer worked out great for Max Payne 3, Tomb Raider, and The Last of Us.

    No, wait...

Yeah I completely forgot The Last of Us even had multiplayer.

It's probably fun, but I don't really feel like tooling around in that world after experiencing emotional trauma from the singleplayer.

I will say that this multiplayer looks more appealing than Gotham City Impostors, but I understand that Splash Damage has some clunkers in its resume.

Max Payne 3's Multiplayer was excellent! Mass Effect 3 was also surprisingly fantastic. It can be done, but I'll believe it when I see it from Spash Damage.

The best multiplayer is the co-op missions from Uncharted 2 and all of Saints Row 3. So much fun to terrorize Steelport with a friend!

Everything I hear about this game just makes me sick to my stomach. Batman drops a thug to his death five seconds into the trailer, no Kevin Conroy, and to add insult to injury he was replaced with Roger Craig Smith. Awesome job casting crew, I can't wait to hear how Batman is way past cool. I can understand Troy Baker because Mark Hamill decided that he was done and Baker is actually talented. What's worse is that the Arkham series began life as a love letter to fans of Batman: The Animated Series, but now they've removed anything that even resembles it. Good job WB when I want a series killed I'll give you a call.
