@GoodKingJayIII provided the following way to skip much of the introduction for the PC version of ME2:

A lot of people don't like the opening 10 minute intro movie, but there is a way to get rid of it. Go to:

C:....mass effect 2\BioGameMovies

Change the extension of the following files to .bak:

Opening_End_Seq.bik

Opening_End_SeqFM.bik

Opening_Seq_INT.bik

ProCer_300_FirstFlight.bik

ME2_Opening_SunMid_INT.bak

ProNor_Pod2.bik

ProNorEscape.bik

ProNorEscapeAsh.bik

ProNorEscapeKaid.bik

ME2_Opening_SunMid_ESN.bik

ME_EAsig_720p_v2_raw.bak

BWLogo.bak

ProNor_Shepard_Rebuilt.bik

This will not get rid of everything, you still have to watch the non-CGI cutscenes and Save Joker. But it does cut down quite a bit. If you want those movies back just rename them to .bik again. If you're worried your renaming the wrong thing, you can download a BIK palyer and confirm the files.

3. For those who hate planet scanning and hacking, there is an easy ini file edit floating around. This is just a colaseced editor that you guys have already been playing with but this one seemed pretty idiot proof to me. This again needs an external program but is non-excutable.

This has all kinds of stuff like god mode, extra weapons, infinite ammo etc., but if you just want the money, just use it to get your resources, save, then exit the game and revert to the non-hacked state.

I wonder how well worst map and highest difficulty correlate in the survey.

I think they will correlate very strongly. Probably partially due to people being butthurt about losing, but thre are several maps that are difficult due to being bad maps. condor is a great example, as are the two visibility hazard maps.

Thought you guys might find it an interesting read. It has numbers out the whazoo to the point I'm not sure how balanced it may or may not be until I put it to practice but it seemed like a cool system in general.

My issue with Condor is that I can never get a 'flow' going with that map. Like in terms of where to go and how to play the map it just feels janky.

Compared to something like Jade which has really clearly defined areas and sightlines.

Listening to the vid again (yeah, again, it's worth it), and I'm struck by how it highlights the strong characters Bioware's writers have created, the excellent dialog they've written, the excellent execution by the voice actors and actresses, and the confident way they set about presenting the whole.

Can't wait to see what Bioware next produces with this team.

There should be a mass effect game where you operate a mobile geth platform like Legion's. Instead of picking a class at the start of the game, whenever you have access to the consensus, you can swap out your programs. Stealth mission? Swap in some covert expertise.

Can you one-shot all humanoid enemies with the AUI? I know that Batarians can. Not to mention that one HM with really high damage is preferably to multiple, low damage HMs on something like a Praetorian or Scion where you can only get one shot in before they pierce your stomach

Not to mention that the playtesting of Reckoning was...not very thourough :P

By that I mean that Talon/AUI are ridiculously OP
