I tend to always get games against 3 healer teams (Kayle, Nidalee, Sona) that also for some god damn reason also have long ranged utility mages, like Malz and Lux or someone super bitchy to deal with like Jayce. All game fuckin every game.

Well this was a fun game. I went with the popular Elder Lizard->Boots->Locket build and then went for a spell-pen tank build. It worked out great at the beginning (I was 9/1/1 when my team had 13 total kills despite not connecting until 2:00), but eventually their (plat) Cait could very easily 1v1 me despite getting the drop on her with Ignite. Sold the locket for an angel, sold that for a NLR when I died.
We had an overwhelming advantage at 20 minutes due to them trying to 4v4 us over and over again, to the point where we managed to get an inhib. Trundle, however, refused to group and Sona and Galio were very scared of initiating, so we ceded the advantage to a very experience Caitlyn who farmed like a madman. I made a few key mistakes as well, and eventually lost my stranglehold on the map due poor to item choices (should have gotten a DFG) and some general over-aggression issues (don't tower dive Rumble and Caitlyn, even if they are at 20% health and you have everything up).
It was a fun game up until Trundle started griefing with pillars, but we eked out a victory when Sona and Galio landed their ults on Cait, allowing us to explode the shit out of her and mop up the rest.
Sejuani is great in ARAM.107 v 105 kills. For once pretty damn even teams. They had a Zilean though which just makes aram kinda total bullshit I have to admit. His ult is just no fun to deal with when its all about team fights.
Earlier, Morello said that the only thing that was salvageable from Poppy's kit was her E. Her passive is invisible, unmitigateable damage reduction, her W is more free stats (if she needs better stats to be useful, why not change her base stats and give her something interesting?), and her ult is more free stats and invisible damage reduction.
You could rebuild her to be more 'season 3 friendly' (SHIELDS, SHIELDS EVERYWHERE), but she'd still be a shitty laner due to no wave clear and no ranged farming.
The highest CS i have ever achieved on ARAM I was playing Tristana and we had, by all accounts a terrible team. One of the dudes says "no one CS but trist" and everyone followed suit. By 40 minutes of a long hard defensive game i had some 350 CS.

Playing her right is to get AP and sit on people till they die :P
Middlesticks is much better than jungle fid. he gets the farm needed to have a super team fight ult and has utility. His main problem in mid is that his poke relies on minions to have a good range(and mana issues)
Middlesticks is a bit variable in his matchups, but super good against people he is good against. If you are against someone without a reliable way to stop drain, you can just draintank their damage.
Janna is one of those "sleeper OP" ARAM champs. Her waveclear is ridic, her AP shields are ridic for both shield amount and the fact it's a BF sword and she never dies. Oh, and the AOE heal.
I played her in a game the other day and basically dumpstered the other team for something like 30/4/45.
there is NOTHING sleeper about how OP Janna is on ARAM. She's almost an auto-win button.

Not in my experience. I've seen several Sonas lose. I've only seen teams with Janna lose twice. Once, the person who had her was lagging so hard that she disconnected and reconnected 3-4 times during the game. The other time I had her in a 3v5, and we still almost won that one.

I'm not sure if that's just due to how easy her kit is to pick up, or what. If you've never played Sona before you're probably going to contribute more than if you've never played, say, Nidalee before.

I was reminded of this fact earlier when I played a ranked game as shyvana, I went 9/3/12, we had a galio who flash ulted near the end of the game and a couple of stragglers tried to run away but RAAAAGHH IM A GODDAMNED DRAGON back in the blender you go
Was ADC as Vayne and the support guy decided to play Sion (uhoh). Funny enough somehow we were up against a Darius/Akali lane?
I ran AD marks, Flat Armor/MR glyphs and seals, lifesteal quints
Started Doran's -> Vamp -> Zerkers -> IE blahblahblah
I ended up with 227 CS at 37 minutes and 15-5 kills.
Now the fun part will be next game where I get completely outclassed and feel like an idiot. I've been trying to use lolreplay but I can't get it to work. Need to fiddle with it more.

Lol replay is semi broken right now. If you have a decent PC just set up OBS and a private twitch channel.
Temp Fix from some guy on Reddit:
There's a temporarily fix for that (wait some minutes I'll edit my post)
So :
Go there : C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\solutions\lol_game_client_sln\releases\0.0.0.229\deploy. Scroll down, find League of Legends.exe and copy it.
Then you go to User\My Documents\LOLReplay\Data and scroll down to the latest version folder (3.6.0.389). Past the exe into this folder.
Now when you launch a replay it will ask "Warning This replay is from a newer version blabla... would you like to select blabla" click no.
Same for "cached exe blabla would you like to..." click no
Here you go, dont know if there are issues with that but it works for me.
Edit : Yup sadly it only works for your recent replays
Edit : You can also click "repair" (right click on a replay) and you'll be able to watch it but there may be issues with spectator mode or something like black map.
I played qualification division games for silver 3 last night. I win first game without any problem or drama.
Second starts with someone calling top and picks Riven. Then at the start of the game, Riven says this is first ranked game. Everyone laughs and I mentally prepare to lose this game. The game is going very bad, my team's Vayne refuse to kill anyone during my ganks and Talon is losing to Lux in mid(4 deaths in 6 min, no idea how that is possible...). Meanwhile, Riven is 4/0 top against Nid and tower down.
Long story short, we were down 4 to 12 in kills by 14 minute. Riven roams for kills, pushing lanes and carry the team to win.
Welcome to Silver 3! But damn that's one weird way to get there.

If you need armor + hp you look at Randuwins or Locket, unless you are a magic damage dealing tank in which case you can sorta maybe occasionally justify sunfire.

The best part of that best Riven NA tourney was qtpie beating hotshot. QTPie is just plain garbage at Riven. He was actually practicing her on his stream in ranked the week leading up to the tournament and he kept going like 0/10 and finally gave up playing her and said he was going to practice her against bots because he was so bad. =P So it was just hilarious to see him kill hotshot. Granted, Riven is not one of hotshot's champs either, but it was just extra funny because qtpie isn't even a top laner.

I've been told to rewatch my matches to learn from my mistakes, how do I do that? I clicked around the summoner screen and couldn't find an option to replay matches. Or do I need a 3rd party program for that?
I wasn't around for innervating locket. But looking at it's stats I wonder how they thought it was balanced in any way whatsoever.
Riot were worse at balancing back then. It was not at all unexpected to see it removed considering Udyrs and Sonas were completely broken. Never running out of mana and effectively drinking two hp pots at the same time was a little much.

Right now you need a third party application. Riot have a replay system on the test environment but its not ready for live yet and probably will not be for another 3-4 months to a year.
Lolreplay is the most commonly used one. However its sorta broken right now. You can also use screencapture technology like fraps. Or You can use twitch.tv and open broadcast system as a way to record your games.

Also it was more of a metagame tournament as you never play mirror matchups in ranked games. Very strange, actually.
