I've been playing a bit of Eador, and that certainly is an oldschool game.
In both the good and the bad sense.
The Good:
- If you like HoMM / Kings Bounty battles, you'll like this. It's those battles, except there are no stacks, but single units with lifebars
- There's a lot more choices to make strategically, because each square holds several locations (Usually battles, sometimes quests/shops/choices) some of which you must explore
The Bad
- The game is a bit light on configuration and doesn't seem to run supersmooth for what it is
- According to the forum, the game still has quite a few bugs (to the point that the team has apologized). I haven't really encountered big ones
- The popup that tells you if you can handle fights is ... iffy. It really values heroes and levels on units quite high from my initial guess at it, nevermind that even a level 10 slinger probably can't hurt a level 1 swordsman
The Oldschool
- The tutorial kills you dead and wipes your army if you engage the wrong enemy
- Some heroes definitely seem to start out stronger than others
- It has several layers of random (What tiles, what enemies in those tiles, when you explore and find them, random events with dicerolls in them, and dicerolls on the damage)
- If you don't bring, or lose, your healer(s) then you better not get hurt because 1hp/turn is not very much
Oh I was going to say you dropped down from above and shot it into the face of an unsuspecting bad guy before saying "I'm BATMAAAAAN" and then disappearing into the night.
Because Gotham City needs sex offenders.

Sounds to me like you need to set your audio device rather than your video device. Options should be under control panel, then audio. There's also some software that lets you toggle between if you want to do it faster. I used some a while ago for toggling between HDMI TV audio output and headphones.
Right click on the little speaker icon in the bottom right, Volume control options, and pick the one.
Awesome, that helped a lot. Thank you!

One day my dear pit you shall be mine, but for now your punishment is required for someone else. Steady be your RNG as you viciously sodomize this victim repeatedly on floor 1.
Blame @Mechmantis! He gifted me Organ Trail for the Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon I sent him because he beat me to gifting you. So I sent him Surgeon sim. And then SotS to you. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!!!!!
Dungeon Hearts is cute and fun and cute ... and hard as fuck. It looks like a relaxing way to spend 10 minutes here and there. Oh, no. No it's not. It's about as relaxing as getting a full body rubdown with a porcupine. Without oil. After being sunburned.

But that sounds like it exfoliates like a motherfucker.

I will kickstart an HD remake of Number Munchers on Steam, btw. Or Odell Lake.

As @Drake has repeatedly said, Shootmania is pretty fun. I got access to the open beta and it's been a good time. PM if you want to try it! (is that legal? if not then don't)
Do you love Dark Fantasy and cool Swordplay? Of course you do!
That's why you own The Witcher 2 already!
Wh-what? You... you DON'T?
Well, I guess it's your lucky day.
Edit: I neglected to pay attention, so there is only a short time to claim! Grab it while it's hot!
Edit 2: Oh, and I also neglected to read the damn thread before I posted, so I see it's being gifted out like hotcakes. Well... well, you guys haven't marked it as wanted on your wishlists... so, so, so THERE
You guys ever get those phases where you really want to play something, but that something isn't in your Steam/GOG library? Even with the massive backlog of untouched or barely played games? I really want to play Super Metroid or FF8/9 for some reason, anyone know anything similar on Steam?

"But I feel like playing some ______"

The cycle repeats itself!
I do not see enough entries for these giveaway, I know you can't get enough of FTL and want some more RNG goodness so The Pit might be calling your name....
As a resident huge fan of the series, I've got a lot to say about why I love this series from Nadeo. Although I've found my internet connection speed wanting in Shootmania, that issue will fade into the ether once the NBN rolls out (as long as it's hobbled by the Libs).
Anyway! What's to love about Trackmania? It's the perfect game for spousal or children interruption. I, like you, would sigh a little sigh when your significant other would come into the study/games room and start a one-way conversation about something or other. I don't really mind, and it's likely to be more important than gaming, but come on I was in the middle of something that requires intense concentration to pull off and now the flow is gone (is what my eyes say but my mouth stays firmly shut).
With Trackmania you don't even have to pause the game. You just turn away and give your full, beaming attention to your chosen love one and actively engage with them. As it turns out they freaking love it when you do this, who knew!? The multiplayer game will go on without your intervention or input for a good 10-15 minutes (after which you're probably going to be kicked to the lobby, fair enough) and because there are countless tracks, you'll probably never get a chance to race each one again anyway. I've put in over a dozen hours online and I'm yet to repeat a single track, so it's no big deal if you miss a few.
It's also a great addition to a weekend morning routine. Wake up, shower, shave, toast, coffee, Trackmania Canyon for 3 or 4 races, start the day. Bloody lovely.
The controls are predictable and super-tight, the racing frantic and exhilarating when you edge into the top 8 of a room of 50 racers, the sense of speed is phenomenal... This game has probably broken all other arcade racers for me, I haven't played any other since.
OK so that was longer than I expected. Where's the giveaway, TeeMan!?
I want to hear the best suggestion of a future "Mania" game. Their outstanding community toolsets and creativity can't just be limited to arcade racing and 90's-inspired FPS. Give me a snappy title and a run down of community features that'll make me fly to France, track down their headquarters and make me scream "Excusez-moi monsieur, J'ai une idée de jeu!!" and be suitably stunned at my perfect pronunciation and accent.
Please submit all entries through PM and a winner will be chosen in a few days to be suitably rewarded.

Something insane
Something that pains me beyond belief
Fuck my life
Get ready
I came like Batman.
Prepared.
Big Isy has started a gifting war. I just got hit with Blood Dragon.

God fucking damn it
But his glee was not to last, for a few moments later he saw something being fired back from the sharply-dressed decapod.
"What is that?" someone on the deck asked. "I am not sure", our heroic mantis replied.
"SOUND THE RETREAT! Engines to reverse! We cannot win this day!"
As the ship departed one could hear over the horizon a fading
classshoooooooooooole
EDIT: @Big Classy stays true to his name.
@Big Classy dickpunches me with The Pit
Now I must bide my time and search for something else to give away

The Not Gothic 4 Gothic 4 Contest
The game that should have been Gothic 4.
EDIT: Actually, nevermind. That game is too old to be worth a contest. Not worth anyone's effort. How about instead -
Free to good home. First person to PM and ask for it gets it. :P
(I'll come up with something else to do another contest with...)

Oh god I love those two. Their song "Accidentally Masturbating" was the best thing ever.
I know, I've just been waiting for an excuse to post that.
Also its called "Go Cart Racing" not Accidental Masturbation
That was a thing. It'll take some time to process. And it sure was pretty. I wore out my screenshot key.
Thanks again to @Big Dookie for gifting it to me in the first place.
Heyyy.. that gives me an idea *strokes beard*
