    Oh steam thread...
I should stop buying competitive multiiplayer games. There's a pattern to each one I've bought in recent years, that goes like this:

    - See a cool looking MP game on sale. Think "Neato, I can play this with friends, maybe". Poor impulse control takes over.
    - Play the game. Have no bloody idea what's going on. Get my arse handed to me over and over again, and eventually quit in rage and shame.
    - Think "I just need more practice! If I play enough I'll get good!"
    - 20-30 game hours later: Have a vague idea about what's going on. Get my arse handed to me over and over again, and eventually quit in rage and shame.
    - Realize that I'm never not going to suck, and abandon the game forever.
    - Feel bad about myself.

I guess I shouldn't get frustrated at losing, but when my kill:death ratio is 1:10 and people on the server are asking me if I'm trolling... it... hurts my feelings. I should maybe stick to single player and co-op games.
    <sigh>
It wouldn't be so bad except that I remember a time when I was GOOD at these things. I have no idea what happened to me. Old age? Cumulative brain damage? Several years of chronic sleep deprivation? Cursed by a witch? I just don't get it.

You should buy Blade Symphony or Guns of Icarus if you want an MP game to relax in. They're both reasonably simple mechanically and tend to have very chilled communities.

I mean fuck most of my |Blade Symphony gametime has being chilling out watching others fight.

I've played Guns of Icarus, but I mostly end up running around the ship in blind confusion.

So, I just moved cross country (and sank $8000 into renovating part of a house, making me broke) what better way to celebrate than buying some Steam Games!?

I currently have $32.01 in my wallet after preordering Shadowrun Returns. What should I waste it on?

Fez is tempting, but I kind of want to wait for it to go on sale. Prime World Defenders also sounds fun, and I've got a thing for beta access that often overcomes my desire for sales.

    Any other recommendations?

Holy fudgeballs! I did it! I killed the Harvester on hard with a newbie level 20 character on Dragon Age Origins! *sniffle* It's just... so great. I finally did it after what seems forever. It just keep torturing me, like some sort of ironic gamer hell...

If it's that Finnish site, I tried for HOURS to get the thing to work for me for cheap Skyrim and failed.

It's not that hard, really. I used Foxy Proxy with a proxy I found on steamgifts.com and it worked without problems. Well, I had to reload the site quite a few times because the proxy was slow as fuck, but other than that it worked like a charm.

There's a thread on it if you wanna glance through. It's mostly a game about clear communication above anything else.

It was just running so slow, and the proxy I used was a timed demo, and it didn't always work. I just gave up, figured Skyrim would be cheap this summer anyways.

I forget sometimes that there're threads for the games I play. :)
I should get back to that one.
Lately I've been playing War of the Roses, and... dear lord, I suck. I mean, I thought I was bad at Tribes: Ascend, but damn. Playing WotR is a recipe for lowered self-esteem.

Guns of Icarus has never made me feel that badly, apart from being conscious of the fact that I'm a liability to any team I'm on.
Alright. I know what I'm doing tonight - gonna go die in airships. Maybe I'll even break with tradition and join the chat, solicit for companions, and such.
    Damn I'm shy. :(

Well if you like War of the Roses you could give Chivalry a whack because it's basically the bloodier less percise version.

And Blade Symphony is a 1v1 dueling game that's like a hybrid of WoTR and a fighting game.

War of the Roses has been suffering from serious hemorrhaging of players, it seems like. I can never find a good server, there's one and it's always full. They never quite figured out what to do about archers to keep them fun and keep them from ruining everyone else's fun.

What is this I don't even.

Chivalry is just plain more fun than War of the Roses. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the players who've left WotR have migrated. It may offer a bit less fine control than WotR but it has a way better feel in my opinion. A lot of the time melee in WotR seemed fiddly and random to me...which is why I usually played Archer.

Archer was easier and more fun in WotR, at least in my opinion. Archers in Chivalry can still be a giant pain in the ass but they take a lot more skill to play well (or at least more skill than I have the patience to develop) so they're comparatively rare.

It strikes me as such bullshit when Activision puts Black Ops 2 on piddly sale and doesn't even put the rest of the Call of Duty games on sale. It seems like easy money (unless, of course, those games are selling just fine at their current price points, but this far into their life that doesn't seem likely).

And Fallen Enchantress is awesome. Or so I hear. Because it's not like I've been playing it. I do belong to the Steam Thread after all.

I'm kind of torn between saving up resources to purchase Monaco or Receiver (or is it Retriever? basically that one game that's very realistic gun reloading and you're in a building trying to go through randomly-generated floors without dying to robots).

Is Monaco a decent experience? I love stealth games, but it sounds like Monaco is less about stealth and more about dealing with a stealth screw-up.

I did do it co-op with one person who was perhaps not the most enthusiastic person. I bought a four pack and handed it out to friends, but these friends failed me.

Yeah, I wouldn't write it off until you have a bro team. The game is kinda made by the following moment happening over and over again:

    A suggests plan of action

    B discusses plan of action

All of the hilarity of the situation is obtained from the comic, too.

I found the game to mostly be me spending a lot of time alternating between accomplishing something and rezzing my idiot teammate, or hiding in a bush because someone had set off the alarm.
