Being that mrstolo and I haven't hardly even started any mining, I think some villager trading may be in order. I do want to find a build spot away from spawn for a good mine. I'm thinking some kind of industrial mining facility. Anyone know of a good direction to head away from spawn? The east village is literally the farthest I've traveled.

Maya, I see in the logs where you are getting disconnected but I don't see anything to indicate any reason why. Was anything unusual when you logged out?
Try rebooting and it that doesn't work, maybe a reinstall of Minecraft.

Set keep inventory on for a a few minutes, set up a command block with the command /kill Mayabird and start flipping the switch like crazy when she logs on

I restarted and tried again. I'm dead and I can't respawn. I can't even click on it (it's greyed out) before I crash again.

Could someone maybe head over to 57, 33, -148 or thereabouts in the nether and see if there's a problem there? Also maybe recover my stuff? There's a trail of fence posts to the spot.

I found the fence posts and portal to savannah, no stuff to recover. If we can get you to log in alive, you should still have your stuff.

Last resort may be to delete your player file, which WILL cost you all your stuff =(

Actually, I don't think that's necessary at all. I was just imitating other people but from what I've tested it's alright to stay.

can I beg for some assistance getting rid of some bedrock that random chance has put in a bad place?
I will mine the rest of the library with my bare hands if it means getting rid of the annoying platform underneath

While I normally have a pretty strict policy of playing within the game rules, SURE. Dig down to the bedrock bit, leave me a linking book at my house with a clear sign, let me know, and I'll log in and nuke the little bit of bedrock.

I think you could make really interesting multiplayer worlds by screwing with biomes and mineral rarity and so on.
