Looking for gaming people in louisiana
This may seem like a weird thing to post on a forum for a company based in Seattle, but I've been having a hard time finding people in the Lafayette area. Maybe I just don't know enough people, maybe I could be better connected, but we don't have a good hangout game store anymore, and I can't find so much as a "leave your name number here" board to start really looking. I hoping that someone from the area happens to read these forums and can give me something to start with. It may be a long shot, but desperate times and all that. Other than that, any advice on a plan of action would be awesome.
All i can say is, hey i was young and i needed the gold pieces

You might check the official site for your game of choice and see if their's anyone in your area playing.
For example, I did a search for Louisiana on the Privateer Press board, and found this post. It's a year old, however the important part is they mentioned a facebook group called "Wargamers of Lafayette". A quick search on FaceBook for that group turned up this group. Might be a good place to start.
If nothing else, that FB names a game store (And Books Too), which leads to another FaceBook page. I don't know the area, but if you're looking for a game group, a game store's as good a place as any to start looking.
Otherwise, chances are pretty good that someone on these forums is in your area and will be able to point you in the right direction based on more than google searches.
Maybe check local colleges?
Other than that, you said there was only a dead group on meetup....start one. Can't find any flyers about looking for a game....put one up. It sucks but it may be your only option.
