famous chef has his work cut out for him!! so did gordon ramsay in the amy’s baking company episode of kitchen nightmares. if you have not been following this madness, check it out
kitchen nightmares is one of very few shows i will watch. if you want to watch the horrible effects of being insulated from truth, this episode is an eye- and mouth-opener
here’s a link to the story, in case that video gets taken down. it’s just. amazing.
"The British chef walked off the program for the first time in the show’s history, after the couple’s antics and finger pointing proved unsurmountable challenges. Some of the more memorable moments: the couple pocketed the waitstaff’s tips, admitted to firing more than 100 people, picked a fight with a customer who’d been waiting an hour for his pizza and served up pre-made frozen raviolis."

What on earth possesses people to agree to have their business on a show called kitchen nightmares
Do they honestly believe that it will be different this time, OUR restaurant is perfect, he's gonna come in here and give us a thumbs up and a glowing review and moonwalk out?

It's called

hubris
I like it when the host points this out.
"If everything's perfect as it is and you're not going to change anything, why did you call me?"
Occasionally you get people who are all "hey, our restaurant is fucked up we want you to fix it", but they're rare and they usually don't wind up willing to change what actually needs to be changed.
See, that particular Sinfest seems like its making a joke about seeing those particular things everywhere to the point where it may not be justified or at the very least is annoying. But that seems too self-aware.

Generally they get him to come because it's a failing business and he helps them to turn it around!
90% of the time this is what happens! He points out the flaws and roasts the fuck out of the owners and they get their shit together. He gets people fired and makes ultimatums and makes changes to the menu etc.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
+1
