Aww dude you are missing out! Masalas are good, yeah. But a nice vindaloo is like an orgy of flavours in yo mouf.

Yeah it really does seem like a little spice would make it better.

Thing is I've never had anything spicy my ENTIRE LIFE.

it's not gonna get less spicy if you wait.

Interro I gotta fly some of our mexican food over to you.

We got some sick burritos and tacos here lemme tell ya

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHwegwXwwHs

Don't knock it 'til ya try it son.

Please. I live in Southern California. You can't step to our Mexican food.

I've tried it there. It's okay.

    Excuse me?!

You understand that Mexican people emigrate all over the world, right? There's two Mexican restaurants in my suburb that make fucking amazing food.

if you're including Pancho's then I totally take issue with that

their food is average at best

Actually no I'm not. I heard a lot of good things, so I tried there. Supermarket enchilada kits are better then the dross they serve up.

I used to think I could handle spicy food, but then I went to an authentic Malaysian restaurant.

A friend of mine eats whole chilis like snacks and even he won't touch some of the stuff on their menu.

No one who can eat a guinea pig is a human.

They are instead monsters wearing human skin.

That's right, I draw the line at guinea pigs.

so you're saying all native peruvians are inhuman monsters

    real nice, uriel, real nice

also ceviche is super delicious. all the rest of the food in peru is pretty crap but you can't go wrong with ceviche

Ceviche can be hit or miss for me. Good ceviche is awesome, but bad ceviche makes my hair curl. Like, more than usual. Also how is alpaca, that's not an animal I associate with food.

a friend of mine who married a Thai gets really cocky about his spice tolerance

i will say, it's impressive. I've seen him eat things that made swaggering, macho, thoroughly heat-inured men weep.
Then he says "well it's good, but not as hot as my wife's food ..."

Then we rub it in his eyes.

  • VivixenneVivixenne Remember your training, and we'll get through this just fine. Registered User regular
    there's different kinds of spicy

I tend to roll my eyes a bit when people tell me they can eat spicy food, cuz chances are there is a type of spicy they can't handle

Sichuan food tends to be a trick card for a lot of people since Sichuan peppercorns tend to numb the shit out of your mouth first, THEN burn the shit out of it

In only wearing concealer to work today because I am oh so tired. At least it's really nice outside while I wait for my boss to get here.

I wore lipstick for the first time in months yesterday and it was a smeary train wreck. I need to re-practice.

Mexican food in Australia seems like it's probably ended up like New York "style" bagels or pastrami on the west coast of the U.S. where you have a bunch of deluded Seattleites saying, "yeah these bagels are great, they're so fluffy!" or "this pastrami is so good an lean, not gross and fatty!".

that's a big call made on slim to no evidence. I mean, you might be right. But short of flying everyone here around the world for an authentic taste-test off, you're basically being needlessly skeptical. Australia prides itself on its authentic multicultural cuisine.
