it's 100% the way I sit and my work chair.

I lean heavily on my left arm when sitting usually

that has led my work chair to start cracking recently

pretty sure the shirts got caught in on of the cracks and tore them up.

gonna go to HR today and see if they can get me a new chair

maybe, though i feel like this was more my fault with the chair than a poor construction problem.

I knew something like this would happen eventually - i don't know if you remember but my hoodie at PAX had the left elbow ripped up and everyone kept telling me it was ripped.

I just got a sharp left elbow I guess.

the history of the snapback in urban and hip-hop culture is really fascinating imo; learning why it's so common to leave the sticker on the brim was a revelation to 14-year-old me

Why is it so common to leave the sticker on the brim?

to show off the newness of it.

    http://blog.asiantown.net/-/17945/ladies--for-your-treat--the-man-who-is-deported-from-saudi-arabia-for-being-too-handsome

Remember hearing about those men that were deported from Saudi arabia for being too handsome? We have pictures now! Meet poet/actor/photographer Omar Borkan Al Gala:

    Omar-Borkan-Al-Gala-Dubai-20.PNG
    Omar-Borkan-Al-Gala-Dubai-05.PNG

The whole story is so strange. I can't imagine what it must have felt like to be deported. Awful, and also strangely flattering? Hopefully he and his friends can get a positive spin from this, at first I read they were from SA (which made the story kind of tragic) but instead they are from Dubai, or him at least.

Suddenly, "too handsome" makes so much sense....

TO BE FAIR at least they are consistent across the sexes.

As that is why the women are covered up, because men just have a chubby and go a rapin'.

so, back in December, the beau and i decided to get our portraits taken since we don't have many photos together, much less looking nice. our parental units have asked at various points for pictures of us together, so it seemed like a good holiday present. the fashion thread got some of the background decisionmaking, but never saw the results. here they are (with some slight modifications from the prints!)

we gave large framed versions of our respective favorites to our parents, along with a 4x6 of the other. i came around to liking his pick more as an objectively better picture, but i like our expressions in the second one. 8-> the first one is fun because she took it as we were walking up to meet her to start taking pictures. :rotate:

    Your pick is better.

But more importantly, I like his shirt. Where did he get it from?

Fashion bros, I need a haircut again soon and as always I don't know what I want.

I've been pretty into this sort of thing lately:

    curly-quiff.jpg

But I have some reservations about getting one. I have thick, thick hair that is far straighter than I am, and styling it has always been an ass and a half. Any version of this cut I see generally has hair with some shape to it. And if I do go for it, what sort of product should I be looking at getting?

    Lookin good Ogs!

And Straightzi I love that haircut but I don't think it'd work well with straight hair, you might consider something David Lynch-esque, the short sides and longer choppy cut top (depending on your hair's texture you might even look to get razored layers too, it ends up wonderfully choppy on straight fine hair)

yeah I don't think that would work with straight hair.

slightly aside, I love that jacket. You should wear that no matter what your hair is.

hey, the fact that he was wearing a buttondown is Fashion Progress. but sorry, @Karl, i'm not sure; maybe Old Navy, otherwise...

for years, his uniform was white tees with Dickies and black Converse. color and anything fitted have gradually entered his wardrobe. partly a punk give-no-shit aesthetic sense, part body image.

@Futore plz find me some snapbacks with something interesting on 'em that ain't sports, Marvel super heroes, alcohol brands, or video games. Will allow for exceptions that are tasteful, well designed, or obscure. Ideally not 40 goddamn dollars, because I will probably end up rolling the bill.
