Just finished a long, drawn-out macro game against a Terran on that large-ish lava map. I went into that game determined to work on my macro and use gateway units primarily. I really need to relearn how to leverage forcefield, too.
I managed to put myself behind by 50 food at more than one point, but clawed my way back to parity via psionic storms and feedback. He sat on three bases for too long and finally ground to a halt, unable to secure a fourth as we traded armies again and again. Meanwhile I was still mining at my fourth and fifth.

Is ling-bling-muta becoming trendy in PvZ? Did someone do it in a cool fashion lately? It might just be its more common on my current MMR but I'm seeing it a lot. The baneling part doesn't seem to add enough to justify the gas expenditure

I'm only in gold but ling muta seems to be the go-to for the zergs I face, with occasional banelings if they're feeling creative. So I have been pretty much just been opening with blind phoenix. If they don't go muta then I just go kill a couple queens.
I think the change has come from protoss always going for colossus and mutas are a good counter.
I love tunneling roaches, but it takes too many upgrades to get there. By the time I get all the ups lined up, it feels like roaches are pretty obsolete anyway. Burrow+Speed+Tunneling+Ups... damn. That's a lot of investment for some roaches. I guess you could choose between speed and tunneling...

Eh. I don't really think so. Stalker/colossi > ling/muta, I feel.
Not if you're attacking and not defending a push. Stalker/Colossi is pretty immobile, while mutas virtually teleport.
Mutas are the reason I open stargate->robo every single PvZ
Mutas are the reason I 2base allin every PvZ
Seoul Train hits before mutas get magic
What I've been going over with Dahl has been basic attack timings and being able to see them coming. The first Hallucinated Phoenix and real phoenix comes out at about the same time, so you can see if theyre rushing to mutas and if so you can lay down a second stargate and mass them phoenixes for ezmode response while eventually transitioning to colossus. Or if your opponent, like a lot of mine, seem really committed to the phoenix muta fight for some reason, you can get up to 16 or so phoenix at most, but dont forget tech behind it. You can usually see a tech switch coming if you see mutas not being reinforced anymore, then you can just scout his base and see whats up.
Phoenix play is pretty awesome now that i've learned it. The other night I kept a guy on 3-4 bases for 30 minutes by just running around with 10-15 phoenix and killing whatever while expanding 5 times
First was my placement match for the new season, was in Gold last season, and got matched up against a Diamond?! Yeah, I lost hard to double Medivac drop.
Second was my first Silver level match. My opponent was Platinum! Lost to proxy Oracle -> deathball.
Final match was against another Silver. Won that my out expanding and macroing him. Survived multiple drop attempts and nukes. Ugh!

There have been an absurd amount of Protoss games in SPL lately. The majority of each series is either PvX or PvP.
En Taro Tassadar, mother fucker.

2gate robo expand/skillrays has carried me to rank 1 gold. I reckon I'll make plat so long as I keep doing what I've been doing.
I lost to a not-well-executed 4gate earlier though, which was disappointing. I should have gone for more sentries when they turned up, and just turtled, but I foolishly spent my forcefields on trying to displace their attack on my puny army. I was caught off guard because I don't think I see anyone bust out the old 4gate any more.

Its still good precisely because people don't expect it anymore.
filtersc just announced in his sunday vlog that he'll be doing protoss after terran, due to the fact that the zerg metagame is still in a lot of flux at the moment

This guy isn't a pro or anything, but he plays random and can be pretty hilarious and is good at talking while playing.

Their breaks are hilariously long though. Luckily I have some things to do, as well as some dota stuffs going on as well to watch.
but do i need to have like a picture of idra's head next to it for context?
