The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
One of the cooler things about this game is the Foundry, a suite of tools for players to create dungeons, encounters, or entire campaigns for other players to use.
Neverwinter's open beta starts on the 30th, and will be a soft launch of the game.
I'll add more details and player names/info when things kick off.
I really liked NWN2, but I really doubt Cryptic's creative chops. The writing in Champions was pretty abysmal, and the bit of this I played in beta seemed incredibly generic MMO.
NWN1 was pretty great online in itself, probably 100% due to its awesome campaign editor
if the foundry is good and it isn't stupid in any other ways you could very well find some friends, make some dungeons and just ignore whatever the actual game brings to the table
Free to play, free to download, you can install it now, but can't play until the 30th unless you've dropped some lettuce on the 60 dollar or 200 dollar tier packages.
See that's where them saying it is an "open beta" comes in, cause now anyone that wants to stand up for the game can just use the "well it is only in beta phase right now" argument.
So, I have a ps2, and my girlfriend and I have been playing games together. We've played through both X-Men Legends, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance (I'm looking for MUA2, that's next on our list).
Once we finish that one, what other games are there that are 2 player co-op and have a good story? I know there's at least one or two D&D themed games.

I dunno, City of Heroes had decent writing, though I dunno exactly how Cryptic split when they left to work on Champions and Paragon took over CoH.

Cryptic got none of CoH's writing. The early stuff was Manticore who left before the split.

I played this for a little while and uh,
this game was kind of a huge disappointment for me
it's like, all the worst parts of cryptic's MO, a crappier version of DDO's combat? no fanks
Yea, they're doing some kinda ranged archer class next. With the way they have classes set up they actually have a lot of room for more. If they have anything close to the number that dnd has that would be great.

Obviously ps2 games only...
Uh uh
um
oh! I don't know about its story, but apparently Champions of Norrath is a super solid game in a similar style as Legends and MUA.
It's the same company who did Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, which is also supposedly excellent and in a style like Legends etc.

It seemed fun but I bet it would be better with other people.
I can easily see myself using that exclusively and never actually playing the game, unless it's to test my modules

BG2 was kind of a big deal

TOR is great up until the endgame
Which is pretty much how I feel about all MMOs now that CoH is gone, or the ones that don't suck right from level 1 anyways

it was fun to play at their booth at PAXEast, anyway!
Which is about as released as a free to play game can be.
Seriously. I love playing an archer type and I'm surprised they didn't make some type of arrow slinging class.
Secret Satan 2013 Wishlist
I would imagine that'll come with the inevitable expansion.
Also, can I say that I feel like five classes is just a little light?
