I think we need 100 pages, so since I wanna see the shiny new OP , I'll share another "Killer Combo" from Inquest, with a twist!
They kinda had a half decent casual one, then blew it with the description.
Umbilicus and Ankh of Mishra, old school ping combo. cept Inquest wants to return the Umbilicus every turn, not the Ankh, cause they are dumb and loved to get it wrong.
It's really not that fancy.
Oh none of them are, they are all bad, this one was notable, because they were close to at least a common sense one, then still got it wrong.
It'll serve its purpose. And are you insulting my current OP? (you should, i made it just so that i could use this thread title)

It's nice that he can survive using his -3 as soon as he drops, so you can plonk a high CC blocker in front of him after spending 6 mana getting him out.
I was working on a RUG Standard brew and hoping that I could include new Garruk. But that is like, the exact opposite of what this deck wants to be doing. Specifically, it was using green to ramp and red and blue for fun stuff like Turn and Burn. The only applicable creature in there that Garruk could pop down is my singleton Thragtusk (the only one I own) and even that might be rotating.Oh well, the Nightshade Peddlers will be rotating anyway, and the combo with them and Staticaster is practically a third of the deck's power. I guess I'll need a new brew.
The Turn and Burns are non-negotiable, though. Until I shout "It's time to turn it and burn it!" at FNM as I pull off some ridiculous 3-for-1 with that spell, it'll be in whatever I come up with. Might even be my new favorite card in Standard once my old favorite, Forbidden Alchemy, departs.

so this dude today comes in talking about how he has a no-proxy vintage reanimator deck
that's really cool! and i say as much
and then he ruins it when he brags about how, when "kids" talk about how good they are at magic he pulls it out and crushes them with it
i clarify, because i don't understand, that he's talking about people playing like, standard
he confirms
i walk away because i don't want to get fired for telling a customer he's the biggest douche i've ever met

HOLY SHIT THAT BLACK AND GREEN ART
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNF
Not sure now good the actual card is though. The best part (for me) about the +1 is that it basically translates to "ensure you will have Bloodrush abilities in your hand" and that would be really great if I could have that for like, 3 mana instead of 6 mana are you fucking kidding me

the ultimate is PRETTY GOOD
I'm not disagreeing with that. There are very few emblems that aren't good.
But it's a -7 after a six-drop. So let's be generous and say you can get him out on turn 4 with some good fixing. That means that, at best, you can get an emblem on turn 7 that lets you have lots of creatures. That's..... great, I'm glad I can make my green deck have a lot of creatures out on turn 7 now.
The best use of him seems to be if have a behemoth creature in your hand; like some kind of 9-drop trample monster, and you can drop Garruk for 6 and -3 cheat it out early. Then it's there so defend against attacks on a 1-loyalty walker.
I dunno, I concede that my main deck with green in it right now is a Gruul deck, and that deck doesn't even understand what turn 7 is.

I really want to drop Garruk with a Doubling Season out and laugh as I -7 as soon as he hits
otherwise I think he's neat but usually I think I'd prefer standard ramp in my decks (but I am The Big Casual Player so I will probably find something else later I want him for)

I would just like to say that there is a lot of design space out there around Planeswalkers. Not just the Walkers themselves and all the things they can do, but cards that interact with them in new and interesting ways.
It's too bad that there isn't a Progentius-like creature in Standard. I actually think that Garruk would be playable as a way to cheat something into play. It's really not that hard to get to 6 mana, Primeval Titan taught us that.
