Just finally beat this after getting my game, three things:
1. The difficulty on this game doesn't fuck around
2. This brought up my fear of things not meat to be underwater being underwater.
3. That was some ending.
I'm actually not clear on why Elizabeth is doing this
this version of Comstock, at the very least, is in no position to be the threat to the world that any of the other versions were
He's not on Columbia, has no followers, has no memory of any of that stuff
Elizabeth eliminating this one just seems like petty revenge
Well to be fair, the Booker we played killed her instead of kidnapped her.
To be fair, that wasn't purely Comstock's fault.
I mean, if you were wrestling with some other dude for your baby girl and the two of you ended up literally ripping her apart, wouldn't you be at fault for that, at least partially?
I would more blame Comstock, who was kidnapping her, rather then Booker who was having second thoughts about giving her away.
Also everyone said it, but her face at the end gave me chills.
I mean good Christ do you guys see what this shit means
The pattern is broken, shattered, and Elizabeth is going through setting it right
The girl is gone, so Comstock didn't have Elizabeth with him, and was dropped into a world where there literally was no girl, which means that there's a whole continuum of realities outside of the ones affected by Elizabeth's killing of (all but one) Booker
The problem of Comstock is more endemic than what she was able to fix by killing off every iteration affecting or affected by her
WHAT THE HELL IS SHE GOING TO DO IN THE NEXT ONE THIS IS SO BALLER
Also a few things to note
When Booker is callin out to Sally, his speech patterns change, both midway through the DLC and at the end - he calls her "child" and "dear" and "girl", which isn't something Booker says, but is the kind of paternalistic nonsense Comstock defaults to constantly
And it explains why Booker is so much weaker in this - because he's pushing 70, or more
And it explains why Elizabeth is so constantly cold to him, refusing to call him Booker, why she doesn't care much when he gets the Hell beaten out of him, and why she isn't bothered by his discomfort when they dance
He stares into the baptismal fountain where Booker kills him in all those other worlds
This DLC was so cool
I'm pretty sure that
Booker isn't quite that old, here.
Mind you, we have no idea how much time actually passed after accidentally getting Anna killed, but we do know that without her to raise, there was no twenty year gap as a result of her upbringing, so it's very possible that he had Lutece make him a portal to rapture very shortly afterwards, and may only be equivalent to around 50, give or take a few years.

Well, even allowing that
He's spent several years in Rapture - I believe he mentions a few specific years it may have been that he arrived
Even if he's not a 70-year-old he'd still be in his late 50s or mid-60s
That's plenty old enough to not be quite as bad-ass as your unstoppable 30-year-old war veteran self

There was a brief exchange near the beginning of the game that addresses this. You ask her why she is doing this, and she says something to the effect of "keeping a promise". It looks like when Booker said he wanted to get rid of all versions of Comstock (by "smothering him in his crib"), Elizabeth is making sure that every instance is destroyed (ie, the ones that escaped due to a paradox) out of a mixture of obligation and hatred.

Booker just reunited with Elizabeth. This game is intense. The combat is really fun. And the vigors turning Booker's left arm into a weird mutated thing really enhances the immersion.
I noticed something funny about the middle of the game.
The alternate Booker's little vox-tape portrait is totally Handsome Young Hipster Stalin. I chuckled a bit. Maybe I am seeing things, but I feel that was deliberate.
I'm stuck late in the game.
How I am supposed to defeat Lady Comstock? I've tried all of my vigors, I think, I don't see any helpful tears aside from the usual guns and health ones, and shooting her doesn't seem to do much. Her zombie minions keep killing Booker.
I'm also thinking about buying that combat DLC, because a lot of the guns are really cool, and while I see myself re-playing this game, I want to use more of the guns and vigors.

just keep at it. keep an eye out for the adds, and just keep pumping bullets into her. while you'll likely have to go scavenge ammo a lot, there's no shortage of enemy bodies to loot and you'll get it eventually.
The answer to all of those fights is pretty much fire bombs
Or, if you are feeling spicy, the floating power, chained to other people when the floating person dies, and then just go shotgun crazy.
Take out the zombies and Lady Comstock ain't shit
regarding your spoiler
I can't seem to kill the zombies fast enough. I have the burst rifle, which is a really great-looking and sounding gun, and the repeater, and I can have Elizabeth spawn a shotgun, but I am not having much luck. The murder of murder-crows has been my crutch, and it doesn't seem to work on these zombies.

I had good times with a rocket launcher, I recall.
Was there any difference between if you went lethal and non-lethal? I went totally non-lethal and I didn't notice anything that outright said YOU'RE A GOOD PERSON

The orbital lobotomy section actually made me physically, viscerally nauseous. As in, I got dizzy and sick to my stomach and had to just... pause and take a short break after looking the other way for a while didn't work out. When they moved to actually go after Sally instead I was like NOPENOPENOPE PAUSE HERE'S HOPING I DON'T HAVE NIGHTMARES
It's weird; the only other time any kind of media has made me sick was getting motion sick in STALKER. So kudos to Irrational for that, I suppose! Not even gory horror movies have managed to do that to me before!
I liked that the plot brought you through Columbia and Rapture, both. Elizabeth was also a pretty strong character in general too, and it was nice to get some answers. Not sure I'm crazy for the ending. But I did like the part where she went on the plane and tied things together. I'm just not sure about Atlas' motivations extending to taking Elizabeth out? I dunno, it's probably too soon to get critical; maybe I'm just reeling from seeing Elizabeth get taken out like that.
I also liked that they gave more of a moral reason for the leader of the Vox to go out the way she did. And it was great to see the Luteces again!
It also seemed significantly longer to me than the other DLC, so yay! Gonna be so sleepy for work tomorrow oh man.

I love hearing people talk about the game, especially when they enjoy it

the whole system of only having two weapons and potentially being without one you'd upgraded for hours was really ... not so great
I really wanna play it
But I'm so focused on Dark Souls right now
But I really want to see what happens with Elizabeth
Why I fear the ocean.
What I've found is best
I've put it on pause because that cripples my browsing speed
this is a big download
I have a tenuous at best grasp at what happened but I enjoyed all of it.
