I am spared MW:O by virtue of just being really terrible at it. Doesn't help that I cannot afford a decent mech.
Get through 25 matches in trial mechs (which is basically the bare minimum of time for getting a grasp of the game anyway) and you get a pretty massive money bonus, sufficient to purchase a really solid medium mech at the VERY least. MWO has some current balance issues, but they may be addressed as soon as next week. And once you get hooked, you'll have plenty of money to buy other mechs; one of the ongoing issues is that people have more mechs they want and the free money to buy them with than mechbays to store them in, and even mech bays are only a buck apiece.
Purchasing premium mechs with real money is ENTIRELY unnecessary in MWO; they can help you earn money faster, but I spend immensely more time in standard free-to-play mechs than in the couple of premium ones I have.
By all means, drop by the MWO thread and ask for help there, because the game has some solid adherents right now and will have a LOT more once the game is really solid on balance. Nobody minds giving new guys pointers.
Yeah, XCOM is virtually unplayable for me on the PS3
I wish I hadn't sold my 360 copy when I heard about the free Plus copy coming :?
I guess I'll just wait until I upgrade/replace my PC, and get it on a Steam sale. It's not like i don't have nearly a dozen PS+ freebies I haven't tried yet.

So, I finally caved today and picked up a used PS Vita and an 8GB memory card. After the stuff I traded in, it came out at just under £40. and thanks to PS+, I slapped Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Coconut Dodge Revitalised, Sine Mora, Velocity Ultra, Thomas Was Alone, and Rayman Origins straight on there free of charge.
This is awesome. Just picked up the Limbo crossbuy too, heard a lot of awesome things about that game so I figured I'd take the plunge.
I got this Tumblr and I don't know how to use it.

Too many PS+ freebies are lost on me because "Well that's on PC for, like, $7 and that's the best version anyway." Then again, I don't suppose they want to give away all their exclusives.
Well, my computer is kinda old and not exactly a gaming machine, so even though a lot of games are better on PC in a general sense, they're actually worse on my machine compared to consoles. XCOM, Saints Row 3, and Darksiders are just a few games I can think of that I got free on PS+ that would run like complete ass on my computer.

:^: I was this close to buying a gaming laptop just for Don't Starve. Quite glad I can put that cash towards the PS4 instead.

So as I'd asked before, is there any kind of wizardry I can do to directly link my PS3 with my computer so I don't have to run an ethernet cable straight to it? Cause if I've gotta do that, then I'll need to buy a 50'-100' ethernet cord ._.

Just buy a cord. They are not expensive and will work more reliably than whatever wifi kludge might be available to link your PS3 & PC.

Why would you need one for Don't Starve? The game runs in Google Chrome these days even. Can't imagine it's got demanding requirements, and would probably be pretty awkward with a controller.
At this point, I assume @Chance is running like, an Apple II or something. He keeps referring to that game as some sort of Crysis-esque challenge for his PC.

Hmmm I had assumed that my rig wouldn't run it, 'cause it couldn't run the copy of Rochard I got off Steam... maybe I should look into the demo ^.^ Oh God, don't get me excited for this, I'm heart-deep in The Last of Us right now.

Even Rochard wasn't too system intensive for my non-gaming laptop.

If you're willing to spend a bit of money (or know someone with the necessary skills), you can get an ethernet sockets put into an external wall of your house (as long as it's double bricked, otherwise they have to bash a blank conduit into your wall which is more expensive/messy) and have the cord run through your ceiling instead of across the floor.

I wish I hadn't sold my 360 copy when I heard about the free Plus copy coming :?
How? I played & loved my PS3 copy of XCOM, and never encountered the bugs most folks speak of - what's off about it?
From what I can gleam from message boards and such, apparently when they updated it a few months ago with an update - the one that added different modifiers to play - it apparently added a lot of bugs and glitches to it
The frame rate is terrible, and I'm never usually a type to complain about frame rate
We are talking sometimes in the single digits here

Is the coop not included in the Plus version of Uncharted 3? It says I have to "purchase and install" that feature when I try to select it on the main menu.
Caved and bought The Last of Us. Could probably have gotten it cheaper through trade-ins at a store but with the PS4 coming, I figured I'd buy it digitally in case the console is not BC.

They started giving away Uncharted 3 multiplayer free a lonnng time ago, didn't they? I'm pretty sure... nope. Says co-op's not included in the free multiplayer. And the free copy of UC3 on PS+ is single-player only.

So I was thinking of buying Atelier Totori Plus but when I look on the PSN the listing is there but it just says no content available. I haven't run into that before, I thought this was a recent game. Any reason it would get yanked from the store?

That -likely- has something to do with the fact that it released initially as a bundle (With costume DLC, frivolous stuff) which was only for a limited time. Thus that got pulled and hasn't quite been replaced in the list with the base game itself. If you do a search for "Atelier", it comes up.
Really, considering it was released with -almost- no announcement and literally no fanfare, this is kind of par for the course. Unfortunate, really.

I was more hoping a way I could literally connect my PC and PS3, as they are right next to each other. Guess I'll need to run a new cord and... *Checks newegg* Not buy it from Best Buy.
We actually got it run along the ceiling, keeping the cords out of the way with hooks.
If you ever need electronic cables buy them from monoprice.com
Their prices have gone up a little since they've become more popular, but they're still the best value next to ebay, which can be a hassle to deal with.

You could take the ethernet cable that would normally go into your PC and stick it in a 4-socket ethernet switch which you can put in your PC area, then have a small ethernet cable going to your PC and a slightly longer one reaching over to your PS3.
So, in the time I've had PS+ I've built up a sizeable collection of vita games and am considering getting one.
Just someone please tell me it has a better joystick than the one on the original playstation portable. I always felt like that one had terrible design and location. And trying to use the trigger buttons always left my fingers sore as well.
I'm actually remembering to post The Drop this week.

I'm assuming that Eat Lead was de-listed at some point to be re-certified or something because I -know- the game has been released already. Aside from that, Epic Mickey 2 has its Digital-Only debut on the Vita and the Jak and Daxter Collection hobbles its way to the Vita. Much like the PS3 version, I'm hearing that it...doesn't run all that smoothly, unfortunately. But I guess it's not much of a surprise. Disappointing, surely, but not a surprise.
