Phoenix Games' Peter Pan, with one bored-sounding guy doing the voice for every character in the entire game without even trying to change it up or disguise the fact. It's as hilarious as it sounds.
Puppeteer was reviewed pretty well I guess, but I couldn't get into it. It's a simple platformer, which could be fine, but the only new thing is the scissors, and it's not that interesting. And the narration and cutscenes are constant. There's never a moment where someone's not talking, or more accurately, yelling/shrieking. The graphics are VERY nice, though.
Sounds perfect to play with my 3 year old then.
Truthfully that's exactly what it is. Imagine LittleBigPlanet with a story and a few more gameplay elements. It's clearly meant for younger gamers, and even comes with a set of storybooks that you watch after each chapter. My only issue with it is it seems a little too difficult for the very young, and the chapters and acts themselves are a little too long. Each one takes about 45 minutes, and there's no saving between acts, just checkpoints. It does have a LOT of charm to it though.

My copy of Atelier Meranu arrived today. After opening it, I realised 2 things.
1). I'd bought the third part of the trilogy by mistake, instead of part one.
2). This is only the second game I've bought on disk - the rest have all been digital downloads, either on sale, or on PSN plus. It actually surprised me - I've been mostly download only on the PC for a while, but never expected my console playing to go the same way.
If you play the Atelier apprentice series in order, do you get any gameplay benefits ? Do stats or anything carry over between games ?

Nothing carries over. There are references since they're direct sequels but nothing that would lose you since this series isn't a "save the world" narrative.
The only big thing is that on the PS3 the first game's gameplay isn't as refined as the latter two games - if you start off with a later game you might have a tough go of it dealing with the first game's mechanics from a quality of life perspective.

I'll shelve Meranu for now, then, and grab the first one in a few weeks.
I have Tales of Graces to keep me busy until then.

I can say for sure that I own Totori Plus and played Meruru, then later on played Ayesha. Ayesha is a pretty big step forward in my mind, and makes both the combat and the alchemy a lot more intuitive. If you wanted to skip the Arland trilogy and start from the new trilogy, I wouldn't blame you. I might end up doing that soon, myself.
I think I read that all the voice acting was done by the publisher's family or something and was intentionally half-assed as Sony had a strict rule about having dubbed audio for RPGs on the PS2.
I feel slightly better about that than the notion that the folks behind Mega Man 8 or Resident Evil 1 actually thought they were putting effort into it.

Picked up lone survivor and Thomas was alone. I wanted to play LS on PC, but never got to it. I did play enough to realize that yes a pixilated side scroller can be scary.
Also the only reason I got Thomas was alone (and tried LS for that matter) was Extra Credits....
I bought Thomas and Peace Walker, and now that Thomas is done I'm really debating buying something else because there's so much time left. Really debating lone survivor... Or stealth inc...hmmmmmm

Lone Survivor is the better choice of those two, IMO. It's like if Silent Hill was a sidescroller.
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
Lone Survivor definitely drips with creepy atmosphere. If you want to be a-feared, that's your pick.
Stealth, Inc. is more replayable though. To me it feels like what Trilby: the Art of Theft would have been like on a bigger budget and without the RPG mechanics.
I think we might have wound up getting a forumer who worked at Disney to send the lawyers after them and got them shut down after we found some stolen Disney art in their games.
+1

I am sad so many of the images linked in that thread are dead; I remember it being pretty hilarious.
Also, holy shit, that thread is almost 7 years old. Time flies.
For what it's worth, I finished Stealth Inc but can't say I really liked it. I'm usually fan of platformers (hard, easy, whatever) but Stealth Inc really didn't do anything for me and I had zero incentive to go back through to improve my grade on any of the levels, or unlock anything extra.
Could the title be updated to reflect that Bioshock: Infinite is only for US PS+ users?
It still costs full price on the EU store.
Usually I don't bother because there's limited space in the title. PAL updates almost always come on at once, so I'll just post "PAL PS+ Update (game name, etc.)" those weeks. US ones are updated individually, so I'll just make note of the more popular games added. If you come into the thread though, you can always check Darth_Mog/Diarmuid's weekly update posts or the OP (though sometimes I can be a little late, depending on my sleep schedule or how busy I am).
Our February update should be announced next week and if the rumours are true, we'll be getting Bioshock Infinite anyway.
Quick question: I would like to grab Spelunky on sale for 3.75, but that price is only coming up for the Vita version. The PS3 version has no extra discount for Plus as far as I could tell. But the game is cross buy, so it should not matter which version I grab, correct?
Anyone know of any PS+ membership sales anywhere? My free month passed and apparently it doesn't auto renew? Good of a chance as any I suppose to get it cheaper.

Correct, and I can personally verify that I purchased the Vita version, downloaded both the Vita and PS3 versions, and got a lan multiplayer game going just fine.
I know this game is kind of "old" but I just got around to playing the demo of the Flashback remake. I never played the original, but it seemed pretty decent. However, the reviews suggest that it's terrible. Is it actually awful, or is it more of a "How dare you mess with a classic?" knee-jerk reaction?

It's real. Check out the user's channel, there are a good dozen more examples where that came from.
BK is Citizen Kane compared to that.
EDIT: Game is Animal Soccer World on PS2. Probably not on PSN. :P

Their motto should be: Good things come to those who wait.
Definitely going to pick up Lone Survivor.
I may also get dragons crown, P4G, and a Vita. Wish there was a Vita/Dragons crown bundle out there somewhere.

No idea about the lag, though.

Did you play the same Resident Evil I did
The voice acting isn't exactly stellar in that either
I have no idea why I have so many feels now that it's done, but I totally do. Wow.

Sometimes it's actually harder to license the Japanese voices.
And as for Phoenix Games, we had a pretty legendary thread about them.
