I am playing as a control wizard. I am totally enjoying the teleport ability. It is making it way easier to kite that bad guys. I forgot to check where the PA guild was at. So, I am on Mindflayer.
I'm on Mindflayer as well. Started playing before I checked on PA's server choice.
Since I only went through the intro, I rebuilt my character on Beholder now and ran through it again.

I am really getting a kick out of the boss fights. Just the right amount of difficulty. I have done the ones in the crown quest line and I got a little close to dying on the last one. My wizard was darting all over the place.
Mount Hotenow wrecks everyone I think (and it gets worse the deeper in you go). Probably the best thing to do is buddy up. It was easily the most frustrating area I've been in so far.

Yeah its rough, Sangred grouped up with me and we duoed it (and picked up a random third in the middle) pretty quickly.
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.
Speaking of names. Has anyone noticed that a lot more players in this game tend to have actual character names as opposed to an online pen name compared to other MMO's?
Might just be my own perspective but I swear people seem to care a smidge more for roleplay in this.

Probably because Cryptic managed to have the least idiotic naming system in an MMO. Duplicate names are allowed! This was why I didn't play Dungeons & Dragons Online past the character name menu. Requiring you have a unique first name was the dumbest thing.
I am having a frustrating time in dungeons as a rogue. I'm still leveling up, around lvl 19 I think, and leveling up is fine. Dungeons consists of 1 boss with 500 trash mobs. AOE seems to be king. I always do poorly in terms of DPS because I have god awful DPS and I spend so much time running out of red circle which are almost always melee AOE's. I feel like ranged heroes with AOE who don't pull aggro are kings of DPS and don't have to worry about red circles that much.
I don't see what I'm doing wrong. In World of Warcraft the DPS rotations are a little more complicated and I do well in all 3 roles in wow. Yet here I struggle.
Yeah, we get an AOE at level 30 (path of blades) that's pretty nice to have in dungeons.
The main thing is to remain mobile and focus bigger targets. I do fine for DPS based purely on the fact that I always want to make sure every action leaves me in base contact with a chunky target.
So for example,w hen you dodge out of the red circle, do it THROUGH the opponent so you wind up behind him still able to strike. Or dodge towards another target or make sure you're ready to deft strike.
Cloud of steel is also helpful for those boss based AOE's.
I'm only level 31 but I'd say rogues definitely have a place even if the game is AOE crazy.

Yea, I just got to 30 on my rogue and the plan definitely seems to be find the biggest target and stab it a shitload.
Unload daily, abuse Bait and Switch to quickly refill bar, Unload daily.
The only one I had an issue with so far is the teleporty pirate boss but there were only three of us in that PUG and he WOULDN'T STAY PUT. I just put myself on add duty and kept the number to one or two on the map at a time. Wasn't elegant but it worked.
Guardian fighter is a pretty fun class, I really dig the active blocking. It really comes alive once you can attack while blocking to refill your guard meter.
Holding aggro at lower levels is infuriating though.
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKERS

You can't really compare WoW to this when it comes to damage. In WoW, the majority of your DPS came from theorycrafting, gear and knowing the right rotation. In this, your gear and feats/skills do matter, but it all comes down to skill with movement and mouse.
Oh and the "3 roles" are bugged in this. They clearly are designed as the trinity in the tooltips, but in the end rogue is the boss tank/killer, cleric is the add tank and GWF/CW kill adds.
Later on rogue will never come out top damage, unless the other people are just terrible or there is a huge gear difference. But every dungeon group should have a rogue no matter what, or the boss fights just drag on really long.
The trinity is in play. Clerics are tanks, potions are healers, and rogues are jerks.
Control wizards are huntards. They're either good and supremely useful, or terrible trolls that ruin everything for everyone with poorly executed knockbacks.

I find in different situations I can be both, to be totally honest. That AoE ice knockback is just too fun to resist.

I feel like I just shouldn't play tonight. While the injury system is kinda cool in theory chilling for five minutes by a campfire whenever my net decides it hates me isn't enjoyable.
Yes, but my mind balks at the concept of suffering any minor in game issue cash wise due to my net sucking. I gotta hoard man, what if.. one day, they patch it to make gold useful? Then where will we stand? Exactly!

So Guardian Fighter is a lot of fun. I'm digging it.
If there's a threat reducing feat line, I'd ignore them. Clerics seem to get aggro regardless of what they do.

It hit's targets in an area around you randomly. It's an AOE.
Better than Blitz anyway.
blitz and whirlwind of blades also only hit like 7 max i think

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Though the fact GF doesn't come into that summary of what classes do in dungeons is worrying :P
Also are the servers kapoot? My launcher wont connect.
