I removed my sig for a little bit so it didn't look like I was pimping a game I'm making, but I need help with the ascetics of a text window. Namely, I can't seem to find the correct colors to make the text pretty, and at the same time readable. I figure this may be a technical question, but as the term window is kind of artsy-fartsy, I though I would bounce it off of you guys...
Here is the terminal window as it stands now.
Now to help me with my color picking, I created a template that I mess with in Gimp. After it seems to look good in Gimp, I import it "live" and then get all hyper-critical. Here is a screenshot of the template (using a lighter color).
Here are the problems I see.
On the darker palette, the the vertical lines in the outline make the text kind of hard to read. In the lighter palette, the font just looks like an outline font. Now I know the font in the template and the font in the terminal are different, there's a technical reason for that. (It's also the reason why I can't change the font in the terminal. It's a rare free-to-use Unicode font.)
Am I on the right track? Is there a color choice better suited to the font color/outline? Is it because my kerning is messed up in the terminal? Am I just being hypercritical? Some advice a direction will be nice.
If this isn't the right forum to discuss such things, feel free to obviate and I'll slink off to other parts so the forum.
