Is jungling as NP not a thing at higher skill levels?

jungling is basically the only thing people do w/ np in pub games, even tho you can put him whereever b/c treants are dumb

Shameful pursuits and utterly stupid opinions

Well the problem with jungling is that you are far away from encounters and leave your teammates vulnerable, but NP doesn't have that problem, so he's the ideal jungler, no?

And as a summon jungler he isn't the one taking damage, so hes much more likely to make it out from an invade alive than say a lifestealer or bloodseeker.

You're assuming that the average PUBer bothers showing up ever. In my experience, your average NP game goes thusly.

    - "The battle begins."
    - NP disappears. You forget that you had a fifth member.
    - NP will occasionally attempt to backdoor an enemy tower, usually while you're being destroyed in a team fight.
    - Did you win?
    - YES: GG NUBS
    - NO: OMG fcking noobs report canary for fed!

He's also mysteriously unable to put some damn trees on the lifestealer who's screwing with your pulls while your carry farts around in-lane missing last hits. Though that was probably just that one guy.

TP'ing between two enemy towers and sniping the carry that just barely got away from a gank is priceless though. A NP that has good map awareness can get scary.

try using the trees to mess up their pulls and change creep equilibrium in your favor. Pulling the whole wave with the low HP trees is harder than just keeping it occupied for a bit while your wave gets into tower range. And send a tree in to their pull spots at the right times to make sure they can't pull.

There is nothing I love more than being in a lane with a pub that is actually willing to go in for kills on the other team, since I like playing ogre magi, and a 1.5 second stun at level 1 can be deadly.

Up to a certain point, smart but balls out aggression can have an incredible impact even in lanes that don't seem like kill lanes. A lot of people kind of expect lanes to be back and forth harassment; if you can dive in at a reasonable but unexpected time, you can seriously wreck people. This is only up until you get to the skill level people don't instantly panic or mindlessly throw out spells when dived, and/or start paying attention to the map more closely, though.

God there is NOTHING in this game I hate more then when I set out with Undying and my lane partner is just too stupid to go in. How you spend the next 30 minutes of your life is literally dependant on what this asshole does in the first two minutes of a game.

2-20 at 14 min. came back and won as alch. my buddy marino as the SK, ghee on ogre, @TheManTrap on vs and @page- as the hardcarry dusa

I'm not going to try to explain how we won that, because I don't know. I'd like to go with: they were bads. But considering we were down 2-20 to them I'm not sure how much I like that explanation.

Also zero lategame heroes with minimal effective CC against two lategame heroes with a supporting cast that includes two damage amps, an armor reduction, a few stuns, and a good bit of AoE CC.

Like, any game with those two teams that lasts fifty+ minutes and doesn't result in the latter team winning would either be due to playing with both teams full of people who have zero clue what they're doing or the enemy team fountain camping with Prophet for a while.

There are people who play this game with just no notion how teamplay works. A lot of them; it's been putting them in my queue exclusively for the last couple days, which is infuriating. If I sleep one guy and Bane ult the other, I want you to kill the one I Bane ulted and then cc the other guy when he wakes up, not pour fire onto the one I slept. :/

Teams composed of those guys rack up a bunch of kills then keep farming long past the point where they're ahead and leave you time to catch up.

At this point, putting LGD in the qualifier feels unfair to the other teams. Must be crushing to lose this hard.

Oh, this is another tournament. Thought it was east qualifier for some reason. LGD looking good though!

They go out carried. Your achemist and that medusa can get pretty scary when you add some stuns and Vengeful's aura. They had the lead and should have kept pushing the advantage.

Ha ha, look at dat end game on Dusa. That's why you won anyway, Medusa has ~ 630 GPM. They let the game go to 56 min instead of using the early lead to leverage their bitching mid game push comp. Also NS built a agh's....

    Don't forget Ogre's steroid.

I guess it can be, but I think there were better items for him to build in that game.

If I'm snowballing as NS, I always build Aghs. That unobstructed vision is so clutch.

Aghs on NS and then pushing as a 5 would have been good since there's be no way to get the drop on them, and they should never lose a straight up teamfight early.

Aghs on NS is also great for breaking the base because you can see right into the T3 tower no problem. Its pretty amazing for that fact alone.

re: winning 2-20 games. I watched the replay and they had SS and NP. They needed to push and not dive into the center of our base for kills

here's how you know skill tiers mean nothing: I just had a kid (on the other team) in a high skill game build battlefury on brew. It's embarrassing that I get queued with these people.

Had an alchemist on my team die 7 times in 12 minutes and constantly eat KotL blasts from the same position and be all surprised every time it happened. So yeah I know that feeling.

I was playing Medusa for awhile; became pretty convinced that early deaths mean nothing for that hero. You just keep farming until suddenly it's 50 min. and you're death incarnate.

So, most of you are just waking up, but I just watched Liquid pubstomp iG into the ground 20+ kills to 2. Luminous and his co-caster were having trouble processing what they were watching at one point. Not quite as fast as Mouz's 18 minute win in the TI3 qualifiers, but much more brutal.

Put that in spoilers! The G1 tourny is pretty great so far. Lots of good playing, and major surprises. I'm of course cheering Liquid on, and hating on Alliance because of Loda. Its been really nice seeing both eastern and western teams using Wisp since hes been (at least reportedly) overlooked in eastern dota for a long time.

Wisp was overlooked in china up until about 3 weeks ago, now it suddenly became popular. Half of the asian teams don't know how to play wisp properly though, which is showing.

Hating on Loda is pretty silly.

If I don't see Visage first round banned for the rest of G-1, I'm going to be very surprised... I would rather see Lifestealer every game than a support going beyond godlike every time he's picked.
