God I love playing against Pub's that try and tri-lane. My friend and I were slardar and timbersaw and every time they would try and spring a "trap" I would crush and sprint away while Timber would chakra.

You know what is not fun? Melee mid-lane vs Silencer. I was playing Brew and it set me back so far. You can't even gank because you have no manas.

We eventually won because their carries didn't farm for some reason, but it took a freakin' hour. I also learned that I needed to ult early into fights to beat the global, was so worth it.

When do the matches start today? The international page doesn't seem to list a precise schedule.

I could swear that Silencer's ult silences Brew's spirit's spells too. Silencer just does a lot of bad things to brewmaster in general, it's not a good match up at all.

Edit: It sounds like at least the earth spirit shouldn't be silenced, or if he is should immediately dispel it. But I could swear the last time I went up against that matchup, the silence affected all the spirits.

It does silence the spirits as well. I meant ulting early heading into teamfights. Three silenced pandas are much better than one, and they had a super fed nyx who did basically 70% of their dmg in a single burst (he went full pub-stomp and got a level 5 dagon). So if I hadn't ulted yet, they could kill me pretty quick during global.

I ended up getting a hood and a scepter eventually and we won by rushing the throne after a prolonged stalemate where both sides were 2 rax down.

EDIT: Worth mentioning, they also had a centaur. Centaur ult + global silence is hilariously effective.

Silencer makes a great mid against a hero like Brew, without a cheap spell to shrug off the curse. Against a Zeus or OD, it's a totally different story.

There is a noticeable difference from last year. "2GD" cut all his hair looks more professional, the stage setup is vastly improved. They have 2 stat guys now and I'm not sure how they got Theon Greyjoy from Game of Thrones, but he is doing great. The field reporter is a real nice touch as well, doesn't hurt that she's a grade 1 hottie.

  • CorriganXCorriganX Jacksonville, FLRegistered User regular
The field reporter is a real News reporter from a seattle news station. Kaci something.
