What was the final runtime on that one? I've only been glancing at runs now and then, but I'd yet to see one go over the estimate.
Which made it pretty surprising to see a 2h estimate up to 2:20+ at one point.
From what I heard, it went to 2:45 before getting culled.
Fire Emblem was always an iffy pick for a marathon run for that very reason. If everything goes as expected, you'll end up around the estimate. Unfortunately for bertin, every single thing that could have gone wrong, did - plain bad luck and RNG dickery on top of marathon luck. It starts with Seth having unusually horrible strength growth (he had something like a 5% chance of his growth being that bad) and ends with a 90% critical chance completely whiffing.
If FE7 can be solo'd with Marcus, I'm fairly certain there are strats to mitigate the influences of the RNG. Maybe bertin is a bad runner? It was hilarious to see the resets though. Not as funny as the Pokemon R/B glitched run last year, but man. He botched it up real good, especially when Saleh missed with an 80%+ hit chance.
With the predictability of the GBA FE RNG, you could memorize every input and (I think) guarantee every result, including stat gains and crits.
That's really TAS territory though.
They're now getting a higher score than I thought possible on Star Fox 64. And they haven't even reached Area 6 yet.
Nobody remembers the singer. The song remains.

If you aren't watching the LTTP race, a) try to catch it later on and b) holy shit it's 45 minutes in and both runners are nearly synced with each other
That's pretty damned good, and a strong contender in the event I decide to bite the bullet on one of the run shirts. Didn't even know they did those, and like Tee Fury, I'm a fan of a good and cost effective shirt shipped right to my door.
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKER!
100% is rather less glitchy than the Any% run, but hopefully the donation incentive for Glitched is met. Once you go off the rails in this game, you go off the fucking rails man there's no stopping that train.
Alright and in this next scene all the animals have AIDS.
I got a little excited when I saw your ship.

Well, fires don't get colder the longer you leave them.
Other way round, actually.
Just thought it be appropriate for the sad moment.
Huh.
Why does this game exist?
Also it's pretty fun, has good dialogues, plays like Paper Mario before Miyamoto decided Paper Mario didn't need something like charm.

PC gaming isn't dead, it just needs to be turned off and on again.

Also, I really want this Save the Animals shirt. We'll see what my finances look like after today.
e: The following Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones speedrun showcases bertin getting, uh, violated by the random number generator.

If you don't know DK64, get your butt ready because it's about to get blown off. Welcome to the most broken game.

I got a little excited when I saw your ship.
...why does that sound familiar....
Probably not the same guy, but still.
Hang on a second, why does that name sound familiar? It doesn't look like he posts in any of the same threads that I do.
Weird.
Wasn't me. On the topic of threads, I am watching titanfall, but 6v6 is just a hard sell for me. I will check out the thread.
Hold on to your butts kids, because we'll be going to some pretty wild places.
