Just made my first addition to QRCrossing! It's a basic trench coat suitable for lads and ladies. The site works great, @HallowedFaith
Here are a couple quick starter tips for you guys:
1. Make sure to do all of Isabelle's tutorials. Keep clicking "Advice for Living Here" or whatever her first dialogue option is until it goes away. You'll get some useful goodies.
2. Once the clothing shop opens, talk to Sable (the sewing hedgehog) once every day until she gives you something nice.
I'm totally looking for open gates tomorrow, and will drop by with fruity gifts.
Want to find me on a gaming service? I'm SwashbucklerXX everywhere.
I just got out my DS to play around in old AC while waiting for new to be released.
Holy crap the DS screens were shit, compared to the 3DSxl.
That's one of the things I dislike about Nintendo handheld console upgrades. Once upon a time the DS was the greatest thing ever. Now it's shitty, compared to the 3ds.
Yeah, it sure does suck that technology improves like that

The fruit acquisition portion of AC is one of my favorites.
Day 1: Must get all the fruits this is the most important thing in my life!

Thanks! I was super excited and nervous when it went up, but I'm seeing a steady stream of traffic and people uploading codes, so I am quite please so far.
I wanted to make use of this nice, larger SD card for digital installs, but I cannot get any SD readers to goddamn work. I know I'm using eight dollar ones from Walmart, but I plan to use these stupid things MAYBE a handful of times to swap data for 3DS cards, so I'd rather not spend a lot of money. I've tried two, and both fail to install. Bleh.
At least the old SD card still has room, I guess.

I visited my friend's town and his shop was as far from the ocean as possible. Both inclines were on the lower west side and his shop was on the upper east side. Try to avoid that.
Registered my games and claimed my free download code. Now I just have to hope they send it to me on the 14th when it releases here. Especially since I'm going away on the 15th and not sure if ill be able to connect my 3ds to the Internet.

Because I'm a night owl, how has the game changed for us. Am I going to have to set the time to my personal body-clock or can I visit stores 24 hours now.

You can eventually set your town so everything opens and closes three hours later than normal.
What makes a good map? (Other than type of fruit, locals, etc...)
I know what makes a bad map, and I think I got one without realizing it - I have a stretch of beach that is inaccessible due to the river, and no ramp going down to the beach for that little area. I really don't want to restart, but....

All of the NPC houses clumped together. All of the business things (town hall, nookingtons, town square) close together near the train station.
Just want two clumps of buildings, and a bunch of open space for orchards.
Edit: I suggest restarting. I played AC on my DS for years, and was glad I spent the time to get a map I enjoyed. A few hours restarting now to get an ideal map is better than hating your town design for the rest of your gameplay.

Where is this list?
This is the list so far. I built the framework for it yesterday but stopped working on it due to the launch today. I'll be getting back to it though.
All of them.
I'm sorry if that doesn't help.

It's almost like actually having friends.
The eShop is the best game. You give it money. It gives you an animated gif of balls falling into an Animal Crossing logo.

Only thing better would be Pikmin.

What was the thing about map selection, and waterfall locations that require a wetsuit to access? Any tips on what maps to select / avoid?

Same here. Some day though, Skelburg will be a thriving metropolis.
And I think I'm in love with Isabelle.

You're trying to min-max Animal Crossing.
