Ignore this if it has already been mentioned (I can't be arsed to wade through the 500+ new posts since I was here last), but the original Shadow Warrior is available for free on Steam right now.
I won the "had this game in the top ten of my wishlist" contest, which I didn't even know I had entered, and as a result @DoctorArch ninja-gifted me LA Noire like the awesome person he is. Thank you again!

Since apparently my last post was bottomed...
Anyone getting this to work? Every time I click on the "Play now" button it takes me to the community page instead.
So I'm on the D's of my backlog now. Regarding Darksiders:
It is fun, I'm sure, but I am having intense stuttering and audio syncing problems. Has anyone else had such trouble with Darksiders? It isn't horrible during gameplay (not great), but the cutscenes are basically a slideshow and the audio doesn't match anything visual. Pretty frustrating.
That happened to me in my old computer that could barely run it. I think the problem is that the cutscenes are 720p wmv videos that are playing on top of the game and my CPU struggled to keep up with it. If your PC is better than a toaster then disregard this post.
Hmm. It is better than a toaster. I'll keep lowering the resolution until it gets better.
I hope it gets better, I kept hearing such good things about the game!
Lowering the resolution might not help that much since the videos will probably still be played at full resolution, but it's worth a try. Since they are WMVs (seriously, who was the genius behind that decision?) it might have something to do with codecs and/or your version of Windows Media Player.
I'm playing darksiders 2 right now, and am having my fair share of stuttering. Enabling VSync and using Catalyst Control Center(I have an ATI card) to turn off vertical, helped cut down some of it. There are several threads in the community discussion forums regarding this issue. You might check there for your problems. I don't recall having stuttering issues in darksiders 1, but 2 is definitely very noticeable.

I can't even run the game. Just get sillhoutted characters and landscape, its mad.

I just tried it and it worked fine. A lot harder than I remember or maybe I'm just getting old...

Close entirely out of Steam and then come back in and try again, I had to do so to get it to install (as did someone in the forums, which gave me the directions).

I've never played it before but free is a great price and I still enjoy games from that time, is it the whole game or is the "Free to Play" basically another name for shareware and it's the first episode for free? either way it's still a great price for some man shootin'
On the one hand, I don't (REALLY DON'T) need another roguelike
On the other hand, $5 and I feel like I've heard good stuff about it
On the other other hand (don't ask), omfgbacklog!
On the other... no, we won't go there.
But seriously, is it worth nabbing now? Wait for Summer Dale? Just admit I already have dozens of games I don't have time to play? And should I order pizza for dinner?
I picked up the Amazon bundle for CKII today and as I was clicking through the three or four pages of keys to copy into my text editor, it turns out I have keys for Mark of the Ninja, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, Deadlight, and a few others. I've been keeping an eye open for a good sale on MotN not realizing I had a key just sitting there.
Also, on the off chance anyone wants it, I have a 50% off coupon for Evoland. Message me if you'd like it.
I think that the internet has been for years on the path to creating what is essentially an electronic Necronomicon: A collection of blasphemous unrealities so perverse that to even glimpse at its contents, if but for a moment, is to irrevocably forfeit a portion of your sanity.

If I were to buy the GTA4, LA Noire, Max Payne set on Amazon with Steam codes for $12, does anyone know if the GTA4 key and the Episodes from Liberty City are separate or if I'll be able to activate it if I already have GTA4? I really want to give MP3 a try...
fyi I am not sure that the bundle which has all three actually has the Episodes in it, it might just be GTA4 by itself. Also, I bought the GTA complete+ Max Payne bundle this morning and it was a single key for GTA, although GTA and Episodes then were two seperate downloads through Steam.

So, I did the whole "buy games on the steam iphone app" and on the way out of the purchase I clicked the link to install to my pc at home, except they're now not in my library. I have the confirmation emails saying they were purchased and I was charged. Hmmmmmmm.
Edit: Had to reload steam...and they're there, just not downloaded. Thanks Steam!

Anyone having issues with the Mobile app today? I've been trying to stay signed in to make a purchase and it keeps closing the app on me.
I've got a question about that. If I purchase from app will it download to my pc if I have the steam client open on my pc?
It can do, you need to select it from the library though.
The one thing I don't like about it is that it installs to the default steam location, which for me is on my SSD. Which is fine for some things, but most stuff I prefer to install to my larger spindle drive.
Steam Mover. Sure it's after the fact, but it fixes the problem. Unless you're Team Fortress 2, which for some reason won't move over.
Team Fortress 2 should work with Steam Mover now after they applied the Steam Pipe update to it a few months back!

That makes me feel better. Despite being called "The Complete Pack" the Sleeping Dogs bundle on Amazon is the base game, Nightmare at North Point, and a bunch of cosmetic stuff I don't care about - exactly what I have on 360! Yay!
Mt. Willpower is like the mythical version of Olympus. It's huge on paper, and doesn't exist in reality.
Mt. Willpower in regards to Steam sales is more like Sisyphus's hill.
I haven't been late on a mortgage payment yet. They can't repossess until, like, 3 late payments or so minimum, right? So, $100 into the Steam Wallet isn't REALLY irresponsible to participate in the giftbombing extravaganza that will be Summer Dale, is it? Maybe I can run it through a PayPal payment so it's harder to track for the wife...

Picked up the pit and have played it for a few hours. I can see myself putting a lot of time into this game.
Started as a marine and was doing pretty well, except for a door destroying my assault rifle on the first floor, until I came across a large protean.
Threw a few grenades at it then shot it with my auto pistol, I did not expect it to leave behind two medium proteans.
Killed one of them to see it become two small proteans, the three of them then went on to kill me.
In retrospect I should have left it alone.
This game is really good and is easily worth 5 dollars.
So my plan was to get the pizza, and not get the game.
Well, I got SOTS: The Pit. But I didn't buy it. Thanks to @rikdaly, it happily resides in my library just waiting for an opportunity to kick my butt. Repeatedly. All over.
And I didn't get the pizza. I went out for dinner instead.
Funny how even the simplest plans fall all to hell. :P

These days, depending on where you live, you damn near have to sue the bank to foreclose.
My brother lives in Phoenix and after his wife passed away he just stopped paying for ages and the bank straight up just didn't care. They wouldn't forclose so he couldn't get out of the mortgage, but he wasn't paying the morgage so :rotate:
Y'know, a while ago Dementium 2 the Ward was on the registry, which seemed really weird. It's a DS horror game, and no mention of the first game. Even weirder when I just put together that the Dementium devs are the same guys behind Mutant Mudds, a rather prolific title stuck in Greenlight hell. What on earth is going on between that dev and Valve exactly? I will officially be mind boggled if a DS game with middling reviews that is a sequel to a game that's not even on the platform hits Steam before something as acclaimed as Mudds.

I'm pretty sure that when the bank codes your late/non payment, there's probably a code specifically for Summer Dale.
What carries over after death in The Pit? Unlocks like in FTL, or some equipment and such like Shiren? I mean, I really shouldn't even be considering it..but I'm weak.

I just drank so much whisky and the first person to PM me here will get a game off of their wishlist*. The only caveat? At one point in the future you get drunk and do the same thing.
*Must provide me with your steam name.

Is the stipulation of being drunk a nessesity for the chain to continue?

Anyone have a spare trading card beta invite now? Figured it has calmed down enough. steamid is chaceincase.
Everybody should buy the Humble Indie Bundle. That is all.
I want to but I am brooooooooooke. I get paid tomorrow though. I want to see if Dear Ester runs well on my toaster because I hear it's just a game where you wander around and check stuff out and that sounds right up my alley.
