Don't forget that after you've had your fill of Expo, you can always head over to Console Freeplay, Classic Console Freeplay, PC Freeplay, Handheld Freeplay or Tabletop Freeplay, along with the tournaments offered in each area.
I might actually spend more time in the exhibit hall this year with the extra day. Normally I'm not willing to spend a ton of the precious PAX currency we call "time" standing in 4 hour long lines to play a game that I'm going to buy in 2 months anyway. This year could be even nuttier with the Xbone and the PS4 likely being there and playable. I'm probably not even going to bother with those lines/games. Most of the time on the exhibit hall I've spent in the past 2 years I've gone has been at the indie booths, since they are infinitely more fun.
Also, it has just struck me that this is the first time that new full consoles from Microsoft and Sony will be at PAX since PAX really established itself. the last time would have been in 2006. It could be a gong show.
I usually spend a lot of time in the Expo hall so I'll probably actually get to go see more panels and play areas. I'll have a first-timer in tow though so really it'll be mostly up to what he wants to see more of, as I'm sure he'll be pretty over-stimulated by it all.
I am hoping to pay more attention to panels though, as I think I've been to all of 2 total the two times I've gone to Prime, and one of those was just obligatory with my friends. I don't want to risk being bored for an hour but if there's one that sounds interesting/funny enough it'd be a nice way to schedule in a break for our feet.

We just posted the Tabletop Tournaments schedule today, which includes a good list of lighter games for Monday, geared more towards the casual boardgame player. Feel free to take a look! http://forums.penny-arcade.com/discussion/181371/pax-prime-2013-tabletop-tournaments-organized-play
(Remember, Tabletop Tournaments will be at the Hyatt Olive 8 - a new hotel in PAX's evergrowing consumption of all of downtown Seattle)
