I'm really, really tired of these "games journalists" who are trying their damnedest to pretend they are interested in or even understand what's going on. Especially when it's women who are pretty clearly only in front of the camera because titties. I'm pretty sure this is why G4 is dead.
I can't wait for people to read my messages in bottles in Wind Waker
Just a castaway
I've been lost at sea, oh
Another lonely day
No one here but me, oh
More loneliness
Than any man could bear
Rescue me before
I fall into despair

I might use this function to send Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri quotes at times appropriate and inappropriate.
Because, hey, SMAC is post-apocalytpic and Wind Waker is also post-apocalyptic so it'd be a good fit, right?
THIS. SMAC quotes all day sounds like a wonderful idea.
"Man has killed man from the beginning of time, and each new frontier has brought new ways and new places to die. Why should the future be different?".
Man, I hope there's an option to not have all your silly messages wash up on my shore.
I guess you are going to have to unfriend everyone.
I'm looking forward to not being able to sail the boat due to there being glass bottles as far as the eye can see. If anything it will teach children why we shouldn't litter.

Anyone else going to the Best Buy demos today? I'm going to try and get there a bit early in case there's a line. I really have no idea what to expect in terms of how crowded it will be. Part of me wants to see tons of people there clamoring for a chance to play, while the selfish part of me wants it to be empty so I'll have them all to myself.

Oh, so you only get messages from your friends? In that case, crisis averted! I have nobody on my Wii U friend list.

The closest to me was down in Boston and I couldn't justify time off work for it. I do think I'll hit that tour they are doing later in the summer since a weekend trip down is always fun. I'm guessing they'll be good chances for Street Passes on the 3DS as well.

I'm not sure exactly. They have only said it is tied in with Miiverse.
I am really looking forward to playing Mario 3D World with my girlfriend. The trailer brought out her inner-child in a huge way when it revealed she would get to play as a magical princess who can transform into a kitty. That was adorable.

While I think the catsuit is awesome and a cool idea and all, I don't like how it looks. To me it doesn't fit in with the existing set of suits very well. I'm not sure what I would suggest to do it better though.
Of course, my initial gut reaction to this is "Screw you Ubisoft!" However, it's hard to deny that Ubisoft has already been one of the biggest third-party supporters of the Wii U, if not THE biggest. I actually kind of understand where they're coming from, even if it does make me a bit sad. They are at least still supporting the system fully, even if it isn't with exclusives.
I really like this line up and will buy a bunch of these games.

Heresy. You tell us which console you think is doomed right this instant, 'er else you c'n GIIIIIT OUT!
HA! Trick question! The XBone is doomed because of the DRM and Price, the WiiU is doomed because Nintendo, the 3DS is doomed because it's a new Virtual Boy gimmick, the PS4 is doomed because dudebros (or something), the Vita is doomed because it's going up against Nintendo (who of course, are still doomed themselves), PC gaming is doomed because it's been dead for years and apparently Steam doesn't exist, World of Warcraft is doomed because nobody plays it anymore despite having 8 million players, and the Android and iOS games are all doomed because they're for casuals, and casualys all play Nintendo games and Nintendo is doomed. In fact, the very concept of gaming is doomed! IN FACT, THE VERY CONCEPT OF RECREATION IS DOOMED!

I think the games business is going to change dramatically in ten years but the big players today will still be big players then. as I get older I get the less I've wanted someone to 'Win' and the more I've just wanted business to be good for the people who make good games.
I've found the ios/Wii/Kinect era really tiresome but this E3 was pretty noteworthy I think. I'm excited to be gamer again for the first time in awhile.
also, there was a guy earlier in the thread that was "I'm worried Nintendo doesn't have JRPGs" but I don't think audiences really think in these terms anymore.
Doom is already solving the economic crisis by creating millions of new jobs in the form of a legion of games "journalists" dedicated entirely to divining Nostrodamus-style the exact date of the Nintendo Apocalypse. But like all first party Nintendo products, Nintendo Apocalypse keeps getting delayed. The Apocalypse is Nintendo's Duke Nukem Forever.

Oddly enough, I'd say Mario Kart is a better demonstration of what the Wii U can do technically. Fantastic image quality, lovely effects and a consistent frame rate equal good times for my eyeballs.
But seriously, third party developers that complained about system power just look stupid once you see that.
Not to pick on this too hard, because yeah its beautiful.
If the WiiU logo wasn't on this, you could have told me this was an xbox 360 or PS3 game and I would have believed you.
To be completely honest, there were almost no games shown thus far at E3 that I wouldn't have believed were possible on the PS3/360. I guess I don't have a great eye for stuff, because most of the time during the conferences I couldn't really see the major difference in the footage between what they were showing and what is already done in games like Uncharted, Mass Effect or the many current gen COD games. I'm guessing the difference will be clearer on TV sets in full HD, etc, but we're at the point graphically where I think it's harder and harder to really tell.

The New Dead Rising, Metal Gear Solid V, Ryse (despite the QTE Hell), Sony's Last Sorcerer Tech Demo... these are all things that are simply not possible on the older hardware.
There is a clear line, and while most launch titles aren't showcasing that line so well... last generation launch games just looked like slightly pretties PS2/Xbox 1 games, and it took a few months to a year for people to really wrap their head around the changes.
the fact that we already have stuff like that first list of games being shown off does show the kind of uphill battle Nintendo has made for themselves.
The WiiU will have no shortage of amazing and fun games to play on it from Nintendo, but once again they made themselves the system that is easy to port to from the prior generation as opposed to the one we will all be in shortly, and that kills 3rd party development.

My 'favorite' was yesterday on the Gametrailers/Spike feed, when they were apparently so bitchy about the Wii Fit Trainer announcement (granted, that was dumb) that they just whined like little kids for half an hour about Nintendo and them 'not being ready to play with the big boys' like some sort of console-warring children.
But the best part of it was, the whole time in their 'discussions' with each other, with interviewees like Gerstman and dude who was in charge of THQ when it went under (really? that desperate for talking heads?), they were all "Yeah, the games look like a ton of fun, and we're obviously going to buy them all; but come on nintendo, try harder!" :rotate:
Which is the ongoing theme it seems from E3.
'Everyone' loves Nintendos games, 'everyone' will buy them, but clearly that's not good enough and doom.
On the subject of Ubisoft; its a sucky situation. They want Nintendo to sell more consoles to get more exclusives; but without exclusives Nintendo is only going to be able to continue selling to the hardcore Nintendo fans. Dude (at ubisoft) said Nintendo needs to 'take steps' to sell more consoles; but what is Nintendo supposed to do, outside of potentially taking a pretty big hit per console and dumping the price a ton? They're putting out games as fast as they can alone. They could advertise better, for sure, but what else?
If I just put on my tinfoil hat for a minute, it feels a bit like some publishers (EA) aren't going to play ball with Nintendo unless nintendo starts moneyhatting them for ports and/or exclusives. Ubisoft has been good enough, Square Enix has been fine too; and all of these (except EA) still support the 3DS so it's not like they must have bad relationships with Nintendo. But EA not putting anything on the 3DS or the WiiU makes it pretty clear that there's more than just financials at work there.
I don't want Nintendo to go that route though, like Microsoft does so often, paying out the nose for DLC exclusives and such; but at the same time they really really do need to figure out how to have better relationships with these developers.

Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.
"Look behind you."
"Ten steps south of the big rock, then 10 steps east. You'll see it."
"Your grandmother's soup is delicious."
Dammit, my psychotherapy had almost convinced me that game didn't exist. Well, back to drinking myself to death to forget.
Just send out "I am Error" over and over and over again.
A huge grassroots campaign to send out 40,000 notes that all say "Error 124: Unable to connect to Miiverse service."
That would be terrible!
Assuming I understand the system, I foresee myself having much fun with it.
"Don't blink. Blink and you're dead."
Or
"I am the very model of a modern major general."
"A man a plan a canal Panama"
"Lawnmower blade dull from running over all those rupees? Come to Beedle for your sharpening needs."
"I should have never taken that Carnival Cruise"
What? No it's not. I played the demo at PAX and you punch the day lights outta robots by amassing a huge army of Superheros.
I guess you are going to have to unfriend everyone.
