Packing for a 2 month trip

I am traveling down to the southern part of USA and I would like some advice for packing. I will be flying, and my size is limited to a 7 x 24 x 15 inch suitcase, a backpack, and a laptop bag. I am a guy so I don't need to worry about feminine stuff, and I am just trying to get an idea to the quantity I should pack I will have a washer and dryer available to me. Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

Edit: My phone goofed and put this in the wrong forum. Can this be moved to the help forum?

The southern US will be warm/hot this time of year, and large parts of it will be humid as well. Pack light weight clothing for the most part. If you have a washer/dryer I'd say pack a week of mix and match clothing and maybe one nicer outfit.

Ask your self this question: How often do I laundry now?

Always pack for that + a couple of extra days. You don't want to be doing laundry anymore than you are now.

    Other Advice:

I wouldn't take a bunch of toiletry items either. Just enough to survive the first week. Buy what you need when you get to your destination.

You could also pack some extra stuff in just a cardboard box, and UPS it to yourself. Go with cheap shipping, and drop it off before you fly out.

If you go that route, a flat rate should work out just fine. If you can skip the laptop bag and get a smaller soft case instead and stick it in the backpack, maybe you could do that as an alternative to checking the big bag. It'd be cheaper even if you went for a large flat rate box. That assumes you have a laptop that's pretty modestly sized though, something with a big screen probably wouldn't fit a backpack.

From experience you can fit a 10lb, 17" screen laptop in a carry-on size backpack (along with all the other crap that goes in a carryon), it's just heavy as hell to haul around an airport for any extended period of time.
