Hey
So i started getting back into old DOS turn based party rpg's recently, but i havent played them in so long and ive entirely forgotten the name of one of my favourites which i cant for the life of me find again, all i remember is that you start as the protagonist in a medieval village and leave town with your friend (who is a swordsman) on god knows what cheesy quest, eventually you find another character (a girl with a bow and some magic) and finally a valkyrie who has curses/blessings and healing powers, and when you return to the village its burnt down and you have to beat this hard-as-all-hell knight who causes insane fire damage, then you eventually have to go look for excalibur for ur swordsman friend, and more after that aswell but thats all i remember about it, i also recall something to do with a grim reaper character that you cant defeat at that point and you have to come back to later.

oh also, theres..... just so many slime.... slime everywhere.....
god help us all.

but seriously ive been looking for this game for about 2 weeks now, if anyone can help id appreciate it thanks :)

Do you have a year/time span of release? Text only? S/NES style graphics/gameplay? Similar to the old AD&D gold box games?

Lots of slime + turn based makes me think of Dragon Warrior, but I don't think those ever got DOS releases.

    Betrayal at Krondor?

Doesn't match the characters. And BaK starts in a field.

Return to Krondor is closer, but it doesn't match.

Gameplay and interface information would be useful.

    First person? Isometric?

    Separate travel and combat screens?

Maybe compare it to a similar looking game? (or at least a game that reminds you of it)

    Move to New Zealand
It’s not a very important country most of the time

Are you sure it was DOS? That sounds suspiciously like Breath of Fire II.

not those ones sorry, this is killing me...
in terms of graphics its like old Sega games like Dragon Crystal, maybe even a little older, all isometric until youre in a battle, then its first person with turn based attack menus (just like Cthulhu saves the world, if you know that game, its a recent game made in an old style)
