How do I wear this pocket watch chain?

I'm getting married in about a week, and my fiancee wanted me to wear a pocket watch chain they found at her grandfather's that we think was her great-grandfather's. I'm not quite clear on the best way to wear it though, so I was hoping someone here might have some idea. Based on how the medallion on the end is attached, it seems like it should replace a button in one of the buttonholes on my vest. The medallion doesn't look good dangling down from a buttonhole, since it ends up at a weird angle. Thoughts?

i think the medallion comes through the button hole on the inside, so it is showing on the outside, and then the chain comes out the junction into your watch on an outside pocket

I only have a plastic costume sword, and I feel like that wouldn't be quite up to the level of dress for the event.

Well, there's your problem. What if someone tries to move in on your wife-to-be prior to the ceremony and you have to duel him?
