Personal opinion alert:
What the fuck are people doing heading to a video game or whatever convention and dressing up like a nazi?! Sure, you like battlefield. Sure, you like whatever other crappy video game/TV show/whatever that has a nazi in it. YOU SHOULD NOT BE WALKING AROUND DRESSED UP LIKE A FUCKING NAZI. Seriously. Have some taste and decorum, and stop making cosplayers in general look bad, because good intentions or not, that is what you are doing. If I dressed up like a black person with pitch black skin and huge red lips I'd be yelled at, dressing up as a nazi is no better. Pick a different costume.
To add to this: WWII re-enactments are different. You are portraying a historical event with respect to all involved. Cosplay? Not so much.
