That's really weird. They included Quantum Conundrum in the season pass which really makes it a GotY edition. It would be cheaper to buy that than to buy both DLC and the soundtrack but I can't since I own the base game. I guess Steam made my choice for me, 2 DLCs only. I would much rather have been able to buy the season pass and gift the base game away (or let it fall into the ether and come away with more content for cheaper than buying the three pieces on their own). Either way, I now own both DLCs and ARES because I'm dumb and don't understand what it is to be responsible with money. *sigh* At least they were all on sale.
can't decide if I want to craft this set of portal cards, or just sell them for $4 more on the summer dale reserve pile.
Once you figure out that cards are inherently useless, you're gonna wanna flip them as fast as possible.
yeah, but, the potato badge
yeah, I've already sold the other ~20 I've gotten.
at this point I really am just wavering on whether a dumb thing on my profile page is worth a few bucks. I'm definitely not considering getting them all

Oh believe me, if you wanna play into the TCG then that's fine...I just realized that if I can't get them all without spending money, there's really no point in NOT selling them.
When did we find out we were getting a new Thief game next year? Trailer's pretty slick.
A month or two ago. It looks pretty cool. And seeing as how I never played the first few games I have no preconceived notions on how this one should play.
I've heard good things about the Thief franchise and the new one is being developed by the same guys that made DX:HR so I have high hopes for this one. I never played the original trilogy either so I guess the upcoming Summer Dale should be as good a time as any to pick it up.
Noted and motherfucking NOTED, Muh. When Dale arrives, you can expect some... Wait, what do you call it when it's the OPPOSITE of theft? Like, when you GIVE someone something sneakily? Some of that, yeah. LOVE me some Thief.
I saw a news report several years ago about a new fad called giftpocketing, where you put money in people's pockets. Of course, people didn't care to see anyone sticking their fingers into your back pocket to put anything there.
You're supposed to leave gifts? Oops. I should apologize to those fallout npcs.
And sell cards now, buy them when they're less than 5 cents later. Some are already getting super low.
Grind cards, keep enough for the badge you want, sell the rest, use some of the proceeds to buy the rest of the cards for a badge, make badge, put the rest of the proceeds into the wallet-> buy more games that get cards, rinse and repeat every week when new games are added.

An argument could be made for keeping the cards.
It's not official how it's going to work, but they are adding booster pack drops for games once you've got your card drops.
I think one of the devs said they may add an increased drop rate if the higher your steam level is, every 10 levels +20% more drop rate. Boosters, can drop foils.
Sell foils, turn regular cards into badges, gain levels to get more boosters, rinse and repeat.
ARES for $2.71? I can make that back selling the cards I earn.
I just took a look at the market and ARES cards sell for almost nothing at all. While I got around 1€ for Strike Suit Infinite cards, ARES stuff sells for 30 cent.

We'll see if it gets implemented that way though.
Also, the cards are "Series 1" cards which implies there will be future series so maybe series 1 cards will end up going for a lot?
Or maybe theyll be worth nothing and I'll be sitting on a horde of the digital equivalent of dust.
Also, I saw the final boss of FTL for the second time. I lasted all of about 1 minute. Couldnt even keep their shields down.
I did however unlock the crystal ship and almost unlocked the rock ship (I went to the crystal ship quest marker first which prevented me from unlocking the rock ship) so all in all pretty good run. Now if only I could get these unlocks to work on my desktop.

Oh my, I love the franchise. I want.. I WANT!!!

Big Classy, Portal is awesome, and make me have a migraine. I can't wait to beat it, and portal 2 for cards. Back to HL 1 , cause I can't take portal. Really, migraine. I never thought a vid game would make me sick. But it is so fun.......
Haha yeah it took me a while to get through Portal 1 and I had the same nausea from Half Life 2 as well. Thankfully changing the FOV worked a charm for me. Glad you're liking the games though, headache notwithstanding!
Talking of liked games, I'm on an older game binge this week. Tried out The Saboteur (again!) and depsite this being the 5/6th time I'm running through the beginning, I just love the atmosphere and voice acting in this. It oozes style and dedication. So sad Pandemic had to go
Crysis 2 is the other one I've been hammering away at and I'm finally past the point I always keep stopping at. YAY! Great looking game and runs surprisingly really well on my system, with a few of the settings nudged down to high from Ultra. Really wanting Crysis 3 but I will not give my money to Origin. Screw that. And screw Fallout New Vegas too. I installed it with the hopes of using the new-ish Nexus Mod Manager tool to install some mods and make it a bit more fun. But it refuses to runs with any mods at all.
Wow. What a fantastic story. This here, this is why I love Cyberpunk: a story that indulges in future-tech porn, stars an outsider fighting against an omnipresent and controlling corporation, and is ultimately an examination of intimately human questions and motivations.
Like I said before, the combat and platforming are shades of those featured in better games, but it's presented with so much style, so much flash, that it's a joy to play all the same. The controls do what you need them to do, no more, no less, and serve as the vehicle through which you navigate Nilin's quest to find herself and save the world.
If you ever got lost just wandering the streets in a Deus Ex game, taking in the atmosphere, you owe it to yourself to play Remember Me. If you proudly display such works as Neuromancer or Altered Carbon on your bookshelf, you need to play Remember Me.
This game easily sits in good company atop my list of great game stories, along with the Bioshocks, the Deus Exes, and the Half-Lifes. While I doubt it'll ever get the public recognition of these franchises, it easily belongs on the shelf next to sleeper cult hits like of PoP '08, Sands of Time, or Beyond Good and Evil.
Just... yeah. Man. Play this shit.
*edit* Oh, and one more public thanks to @PierceNeck for gifting it to me. So much class.
I mentioned somewhere that it sort of reminded me of Spec Ops: The Line, in that it was a brilliant story with great world building and music married to mediocre gameplay.
For me, I'd rather play a great story with mediocre gameplay than to play a mediocre story with great gameplay, but personal preferences might differ.

Civics is not a consumer product that you can ignore because you don’t like the options presented.
The most upsetting thing about Pandemics closure means no more mercenaries games. They were amazing fun.
Best memories are of the second game in online co-op. A friend and I attack this island fortress. 'Splosions everywhere. Two tatted' mohawk badasses laying waste to everything in their path. But we didn't have an escape plan. We had no reserves, no vehicles or support to call in. When things eventually got too hot after completing our objective, the only getaway vehicle we could find was a tiny old rowing boat with a cheap engine motor on the back.
So there we were, the two biggest badasses in the world, sitting bored on an old boat motoring away from half the Venezuelan army at 2 mph. I haven't laughed so hard in my life.
Long story short, whoever own the rights to those games needs to release them on Steam at the very least. I'd buy them instantly if they were.
The Saboteur was a fantastic swan song for Pandemic. The soundtrack was amazing, and the art was also very good. What other games let you traverse fake real Paris? And that's even without the needless nudity. At least it makes sense in the world; your safe house is in the back of a strip club type thing
There was even a mechanic for smoking and kissing strangers. Stuff also blew up real nice, and it had some funny pop ups for when you broke a sequence in the game
like shooting Dierker right when you meet him since he's the main antagonist of the game
Hell, it gave me the same sense of melancholy that Cabaret did, as they both sort of deal with the same subject matter.
Rogue Legacy needs to hurry and come out. I NEED it. The demo got me hooked.
Seriously, that demo was great. I preordered the game almost immediately, and I'm really happy it made it through Greenlight. Just waiting for a release now! http://youtu.be/HLD8VzhhDjQ
The game is basically a Rogue-like mixed with platforming, although a lot more action-oriented than Spelunky.
I believe EA bought out the rights to that series. And I thought they fell short with the second tbh. It just didn't feel complete.
Yeah, there was definitely something missing with the second Mercenaries game. The co-op was fun, at least. The last thing I heard was they were working on a third one called Mercs Inc. but that was over 3 years ago. I'll be surprised if we ever hear anything more about it.

I think Saboteur got removed from Steam during The Great EA Culling as they moved to Origin.
Or maybe it never was on Steam. Can't remember anymore.
One of the best western's I've played on the PC (not that there's a lot of competition, but still).
My brain went "What about Red Dead Redempt..... oh, PC" and then I was sad
So, got a Wraith Foil card from They Bleed Pixels on the Market, if I can sell it for ~$13 should I spend that on Blood Dragon or Gunslingers? I'll be grabbing one or the other, and am happy with the short duration of each based on my free gaming time. Which one has more 'fun' factor?
I had some hardware issues with Blood Dragon. Got super slow on cutscenes and seemed to drag the screen around. Also had trouble saving my game so I repeated the tutorial about 3 times. Gunslinger wasn't work to play and had a great balance of activity (between the different types of shooting, dueling, etc). I'd go Gunslinger all the way, but admittedly my issues with Blood Dragon might not have been common.
Gunslinger is also pretty much shamelessly Bastion: The Wild West shooter edition.
So there's that.
Wait - really? I fricking love Western themed games but hadn't paid any attention to the Gunslinger. I was going to do the Call of Juarez game during Summer Sale. Should I had Gunslinger to my radar?
You play as the leader of an army; your real character's real interaction with the game is by casting spells and using items. There's a real-time world, where you can maneuver your army around and find quests, items, and enemies (who will chase you). Running into a badguy results in combat!
Combat is played out on a hex map, where you control your army, cast spells, and use items to defeat the enemy. Some battlemaps have treasure chests on them, which the enemy will always open before you can fuck it all why do dragonflies need gold that sucks.
You will assemble your army from a motley collection of peasants armed with pointy sticks, guardsmen, archers, wizards, clerics, living plants, undead, pirates, undead pirates, bugs, and fish. Some troop types are available in unlimited amounts, and some have extremely limited quantities: there are only 10 Archmages total to recruit from the Ye Olde Locale Wizard'se Academye, and once they're gone, they're gone (and when you first find them, you can only hire 3 because see below; are 3 Archmages better than 30 archers? You decide!). But maybe you'll find more at another Academy, or when you progress through the story and unlock new troop types.
The number of each troop type you can command is based on your Leadership rating, and the point cost of each troop type - so with 1,000 Leadership, you can command a stack of 20 50-point troops or a stack of 100 10-point troops. Your army can be up to ... 5? ... stacks large, with 2 stacks in reserve once you unlock those slots through the RPG leveling scheme. Your level-ups can also improve your magical abilities, or give special abilities to various troop types, or make it so that humans play nice with undead in your army, for instance.
You can get married, and your wife / husband provides bonus stats! And kids! Who also provide bonus stats! And then you can get divorced when a better potential spouse comes around at the cost of 20% of your accumulated gold and all your kids! Just like real life!
Like Iolo said, you can get into a fight with your clothes - but only certain, special clothes. Like, you can fight the Guardians of Your Belt +1 in a ridiculously hard combat, and victory turns it into a Your Belt+2, which is obviously better. Fighting your belt is much easier if you bring along some dwarven siege engineers. No, that doesn't make all that much more sense in context.
