Welcome to the SE++ Beauty /Lookin' Fine /Your Mother Would Kill You If She Saw You Walking Out of the House Like That /You Have A Purty Mouth /etc. Thread

Discuss all things makeup, hair, clothes, anything that you put on your person that makes you look in the mirror and go "yes this is acceptable for outside my house." Don't be shy, this is a safe place. We promise to leer on command.

And give helpful advice, whatever, sure.

I'm thinking of hiring a personal trainer once I replenish my finances. It would be nice to not have to trash my not-that-old clothes and not be disgusted every time I look in the mirror.
I just have a serious motivation problem that is hard to overcome when I'm just doing workouts alone.

I offered to workout with you :(

Maybe I'm just not scary enough.

Nothing against you, it's just different. And of course there are other issues beyond motivation, that's just one of the big ones.
Also it's not like there's ever been room for us both to work out anyway. There's barely room for me and I still have to move the coffee table every time.

I worked out today and painted my nails.

Gonna do the dishes later. I'm really excited about this day off.

I have hella blue shirts so I don't need any more, but that is heavily represented in Express' selection

I want a nice green, like this:

But I really don't know about that pattern

I wanna lose a bit of gut but exercise is difficult. If I get into a regimen I end up hypo and have to take in sugar and then blehhh I don't get anywhere. I bring it up with my specialist but she is like "what? you're a healthy weight don't worry about it!" when I try to find some plan that could work. She's just happy I'm not obese.

Maybe if I built up the abs it would help a bit?

Building up your abs is going to make you thicker in the waist. You want wider shoulders and a thicker back and neck to make your waist look smaller.

I'm not adverse to gettin' swole, but it isn't the profile/width that is the issue. I don't have a bunch of fat around the waist, I just have a gut out front that annoys me. If you look at me from the back it misleads you into thinking I'm pretty fit.

Ab work still won't do much for the gut
You'll need some kind of high intensity cardio for that, but I'm not the best one to tell you

Yeah, which is why I'm like "hey I need help figuring out how to work out without fucking up my diabetes and rebounding on a bunch of sugar" to my doctors and annoyed that I get no help. :|

I don't know that the fitness thread has anyone knowledgeable on that particular challenge but I'm mostly just bitching about body image right now sorry. :P

buy that blue pair, put a pair of cheap brown leather laces in them

fight my compulsion to be super-obsessive about colors complementing each other

i still have to talk myself into wearing my white and green adidas sneakers with anything other than jeans and a blue t-shirt

So I hop on here and see that I have a notification for the new thread.

I click it, it pops to the top of the thread and I wait for it to snap to where I'm at-ed.

    And wait.

    And wait...

    Pooka you sly minx.

In news, I ended up taking end of last thread's advice, and got some Red Wings boots. They were awesome today, and my knee only hurts like 3/4s as much as it did yesterday, with a whole lot more walking.

    Pics later.

also, what the hell kind of shoes should a guy wear that aren't sneakers but also aren't dad chukkas? Something to walk around in, with a some support, without being sneakers or hiking boots? Clarks Desert Boots? The rest of their line doesn't really appeal to me. I have a completely worn out pair of Merrel shoes that are somewhere between sneaker and loafer, but most of their line is either hideous or aimed at the barefoot ninja bootie crowd and I need arch support.

I guess I'm not really sure what "dad chukkas" are
