It does seem somewhat odd for the PC port to be getting this much attention by the PA community.
? You make it sound like there are no PC gamers here or something.
Not at all, I am a PC-Gamer primarily myself. Which is why its odd that the one time I figure i will do the PS4 version of the game the PC one is the one getting the most buzz on the forums.

Well. This is basically an MMORPG. Just with guns. MMORPG's as a genre have traditionally been a PC bastion.
A fair number of people, I think, felt Destiny (the other big "MMORPG with guns" title in recent memory) probably should have come out on PC, but since that didn't happen and there is no sign it's going to happen, people are looking to this as the natural landing spot.
Console players who want this type of game already have Destiny, but for PC players there really aren't any other alternatives in this niche.
So it's kind of a confluence of factors creating hype for the PC version I think. Of course, keep in mind this forum is really just a very, very small community in the grand scheme of things, so just because there seem to be more people going PC here doesn't mean PC will be the platform that actually ends up with the biggest and longest lasting player population overall.
That said, I am optimistic about this game having a better chance of longevity on PC than games like Titanfall and Star Wars Battlefront because...
1. Like I said, there is a lack of other games on the platform that are really comparable, and...
2. the Division a 100% competitive multiplayer focused experience (given that there is PvE stuff to do).
I know that I'm actually keeping a eye on the PC version and waiting for final reviews to see if it's any good, since I do love me some MMO's. Not going to pre-order it, obviously, because lolUbisoft... but it'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

I'm in a similar boat. The other thing making me hold off is I have a newborn daughter that takes priority so my gaming hasn't been as serious as it was in the passed.
Some other really nice PC features that drew me to it over PS4: SLI support at launch (I have 2 660's, so it will be a nice boost instead of potentially playing on really low settings) I get this isn't a thing for everyone but I was excited for it. Multi monitor support - which is super hard to find these days. If this game actually works with 2 (instead of usual minimum 3) monitors I will be in heaven. UI customization - certain parts of the ui you will be able to move, scale, remove, etc. cooperative inventory ui - stuff works however you want it, if you like to click and drag your gear, you can do that, or keyboard navigation and button preses. Controls -seamless switch from controller to KB&M (another 'should be in all games but isnt', the only thing GFWL did right)
There's a checklist of 'what the pc gets in addition' in the wild, but about half of it was things that should be gimmies(but sadly arent in this day and age) like 'unlocked framerate', and something about an additional parkour barrier hop that consoles wont have? I'm not sure w hat it is referring to though, might have been a joke bullet point.
I know the SLI thing isnt big for some people, a ridiculous low amount of people do it. It's just nice to see they took the time to make sure it worked. How well it is supported remains to be seen I suppose. But it's getting to the point where its a crapshoot to play with SLI on or not.

So, pre-ordered on PC. Trying to get the other guys in my band in on it too. Added my name to list. Hope to have some good times. Want to find out who took "bolthorn" without even using proper capitalization over there. BAH! So, my uplay ID is Bolthorn_9. I guess it still makes sense.
Also I'm a PS4 Destiny player transplant. Would have totally bought that for PC if was an option upon release. I do really enjoy my time in the game with other PA folks though.
There are 3 base skills per tree plus 1 signature skill for a total of 12 skills.
You only have 2 Skills equipped at any time, plus one Signature Skill (SS) once they are unlocked.
You can only equip 1 mod at a time for each skill, which can be switched out at any time.
Once you unlock all the mods you unlock the "master," which remains active as a passive effect.
Signature skills can not be modified
Medical
Pulse sends out a pulse to locate enemies and allies through walls
Increase range and nearby loot containers
Protects your self and team from nearby pulses
Increase damage (and crit chance?) to enemies identified by the pulse
Master Pulse provides an early warning for hostiles and lets you know if you’ve been pulsed
First Aid heals all allies in a small radius. Used at location or launched at a target
The device can revive downed allies and grant them a portion of their normal health
The device heals targets more efficiently, and may even extend the target’s health beyond its normal rating
Temporarily increases damage for the affected targets in addition to the normal healing effect
Master: extends duration of heal, giving allies more chance to get inside the circle (when ever you “shoot” the heal it creates a mini circle of healing)
Support Station throws down a station and heals all allies within the circle
Revive down allies within circle
Remove status effects for those within the circle
Recover ammo for those within the circle and faster skill recharge
Master: once device is disabled all allies receive healing
Signature Skill: Recovery link: Heals and cures all allies nearby plus revives down allies, and can overheal beyond players max health
Tech
Sticky Bomb fires and sticks to most surfaces and can then be remotely detonated
Increase blast radius and potential for bleed effect
Removes explosion in exchange for a blind effect
Turn it into a proximity mine that explodes when enemies get near
Master: bomb prodces less light and sound so its harder for hostiles to detect
Turret deploys a stationary turret that attacks nearby hostiles until destroyed or battery runs out (can be thrown)
Increase damage and adds a pulse effect to enemies that it attacks
Turns it into a flame thrower. FIREEEEEEEEE AHHHHH
Make it shoot electrical shots that can shock multiple targets
Master: makes turret explode if it’s manually disabled
Seeker Mine releases an automated mine that seeks out hostile targets before exploding on proximity (can be thrown)
Allows mine to launch into air on impact releasing small cluster explosives
Jump between multiple targets releasing a cloud of gas
Seperates into smaller mines that seek out multiple targets
Master: bounces onto and over low cover and move directly towards target
Signature Skill: Tatical Link: increase damage and ciritcal hit chance to the user and all nearby allies.
Security
Riot Shield equips a portable ballistic shield that adsorbs damage (may only use sidearm while it is active)
Makes it stronger and lighter and pulses targets that shoot it
Strengthen shield while getting increased sidearm damage, knockback, accuracy, and reload speed
Converts a small portion of incoming damage to the shield as healing
Master: shield repairs itself after a small period of taking no damage
Smart Cover decreases damage received and increases users damage while allies are behind it. (This is a cover buff that once used, players will be notified of it by an icon next to their cover)
Hostiles using this cover take increased damage and do less damage while behind it
Slow health recovery with faster skill cooldown
Allies are immune to pulse while hostiles are pulsed when shot
Maser: extends the effect to a few seconds after leaving the cover
Mobile Cover creates a temporary cover for one person which provides standard cover until destroyed. (can be thrown)
Cover extends so more than 1 person can use it
Fit it with explosives and damages any one in front of it
Deal increased damage while behind it and immune to pulses
Master: When shield is destroyed, allies behind it will receive temporary damage resistance
Signature Skill: Survivor Link: increases damage resistance and speed for the user and nearby allies.
Most of the video footage I've seen seemed to be people using the Tech skills I guess? Certainly seemed like a lot of turrets, seeker explodey drones, and "+Critical Hit Chance" UI pop-ups.
Kind of liking the look of the Security skills, personally. Would fit with a former cop character (as in any RPG, I feel compelled to make up a detailed head-canon backstory for my character even though it has absolutely no impact on gameplay and nobody but me will ever know about it or care).
The +damage/+crit chance pulse catches my eye. It looks like only one other ability can debuff and it looks to have limited utility in that area. I could see that skill with that spec being pretty important

So the beta showed up as part of The Drop this week. Does that mean that we'll be able to download it early and get it ready on ps4?
I'm primarily a PC guy myself, and I'm slightly less terrible with KBAM. I'm still planning on playing on the PS4. Mostly because I am hoping that the large and vibrant PS4 Destiny community move over to this game (at least for a little while.) If I guessed wrong, it's not the end of the world. I can flip over to the PC version pretty easily at a later date.
And historically speaking I've had far worse luck with PUGs on the PC than on the PS4.
So before I give my spare PC beta key away to the person that emailed me first this morning. Anyone that did their PC key already, does your Uplay show the Division Beta in your games or hidden games? Mine isn't showing up yet. I figure it won't until thursday, but I just want to be sure

I'd thought I'd heard in another video that there will be "convenience" micro trans, like buying more inventory space. If you can confirm that's incorrect, that would make me happy.
So what we're looking at is we don't want to have pay-to-win, but we are definitely looking at things where you can gain time or comfort. Bag slots would be a thing that if you really want to have everything in your bag all of the equipment at all times. Maybe it's not practical, but it doesn't really give you an advantage over other gamers. Some things require time in the game and some people don't want to invest time; they want the shortcut. So we're looking at those types of trades.
So if they're saying cosmetic only, that's a change from what they were saying. I'm curious whether that's the case, as a direct quote in an interview carries more weight versus hearsay from a tester.
"It's definitely just the one - the DLC," said Jansen. "I don't know if there's a globally agreed definition of the word microtransactions, but you don't pay to win or advance or anything like that. We have DLC plans - which we're not talking about now - and obviously you'll pay for that, but in addition to that there's no microtransactions, as I define them."
Hooray, they're ditching non-cosmetic microtrans.
Oh, wait, I can't read good.
"Magnus's statement is correct, there will be no microtransactions at all. Not even for vanity items. Vanity items will be sold as DLC, through the regular first-party stores."
So, there wont be microtrans for cosmetic stuff, but there will be DLC with stuff. Whether they mean "The DLC of hats" or something more like "Zone 8 DLC with a new mission and hat" or what... I dunno.

I mean I am 100% cool with paying for cosmetic crap. I love me some pretty princess dressup, but what?
Either way I'm cool, that sentence is just weird.
edit- Or is it instead of $1 for a hat you have to pay $20 to get 20 hats with no cherry picking? Ugh, that'd be awful. And I kinda doubt it.

I'm basically reading that statement that there will be no microtransactions to buy the items on their own...but they will be part of DLC packs (similar to how certain camo patterns or masks in Battlefield are locked behind the DLC packs). I could be entirely wrong...but that's just how it sounded to me.

That's how I read it too. DLC external to the game purchased through Steam/XBox/PSN store, but no separate internal game currency backed by real cash such as special $DivsionBucks$, and hopefully no in game vendors selling anything related to having to pay additional real money.
I'm happy to pay for DLC, but I hate it when games have all sorts of indicators visible during gameplay of stuff that can be purchased with real money. A simple "New DLC Available" at the startup screen is fine, but not in the game world and not in the game HUD elements when I'm actually playing.
You guys have made good points for the console (in my case, Xbone).
My roommate might get it for xbone, and the community will linger longer in all liklihood. Plus, although I could run it on PC well, I don't care too much for graphics. I don't fuss over that much. Customizable UI is another thing which is neat but not a huge deal. Same with monitor support.
If mods were on the table then I'd switch back, but without those its a safe decision.
I will absolutely miss aiming with a mouse though. That'll sting. I'll get through it though. Gotta get back my gears of war skills. Plus, as an rpg, instant 360-noscope precision is less crucial.

That is 100% the kicker for me. When it comes to console shooters, I turn into a teenage white girl... I can't even.
It's almost to the point where I'm willing to pony up the $125 for a XIM4 just to play with less hackers and a larger community (which my wife will promptly hate losing her Netflix machine). Until then though, I'm PC all the way.
Predicting online communities on PC vs Consoles is a coin toss to me. Star Wars Battlefront is thriving on console, while on PC it's almost dead, though I think that the PS4 bundles played a big part. But then we look at BF4, which has a decent community on consoles, but it's still huge on PC (Still getting like 100k peak daily).
On one hand, MMOs are more popular on PCs, on the other, people tend to play with friends more on consoles. I think this one's hard to predict, but I've got a feeling it will be pretty close between them.
