So anybody who has done end game in FFXIII-2, can you tell me your opinions on the end game weapons? I'm doing a 100% run for the first time, and just got to the post game. Don't really have all that much left to do, like 10 fragments maybe, paradox endings, etc.
My plan was to get the 50% ATB weapons for Serah and Noel. I got Serah's already. But then I saw you can turn in the ATB/Chain bonus lvl 5 weapons and get the "Ultimate" weapons. That being said, while the stats are good on them, it seems they lose the passives? I guess I'm just not sure the higher str/magic stats would be more worth using than 50% ATB haste?
I used the ATB rate and ATB+1 weapons I think. The "ultimate" weapons you get from combining both the weapons from Immortal and Ochu are part of the Improved Stagger synthesis group, so if you go around with the Martyr accessories equipped you get +6 seconds on stagger and 1 ATB segment every time you beat an enemy, but eh. The ATB rate weapons are part of the buff duration synthesis group, and the Chain Bonus weapons are part of the Lifesteal synthesis group (the ATB+1 weapons have a pretty bad synthesis group).
I would play it, but i don't think my computer can run it. That, and I think that playing Guild Wars as my first MMO has poisoned my opinion on the monthly fee model.
Post-story cutscenes in 14, as well of a smattering if small details through the game, points to upcoming content (expansion or major content update) for the game being heavily influenced by Ivalice/FF12/FFT lore an nostalgia. It's very blatant.
I do want to point out besides the obvious FF6 and FF8 references with the Empire... they wore Judge armor.
It's too much money a month for what amounts to a gigantic grindfest attached to a chatboard. Ends up feeling like a second or third job and I feel like I'm wasting money when I don't devote a ton of time to something I'm paying monthly for. FF XIV 1.0 being phenomenally shitty finally woke me up to that. F2P for MMOs or nothing.
Yeah. I really want to play, but I don't know how much consistent time I can/want to dedicate to a single game at any given time. And paying monthly for that is bleh.

Don't care how good nu XIV is, old XIV put me off online pay to play games forever.
Your loss.
There's been some details about the next content patch (2.1). New end-game dungeon (Crystal Tower) which seems to be based off FFIII's location of the same name. There's also snippits about exploring one of Bahamut's binding chains or something to that extent. Also, PVP, player housing.
That said, I'm also having a blast in FFXIV:ARR. Just hit level 40 on my Conjurer and all of a sudden, I have a complete and extremely powerful healing kit with the White Mage. That skill that increases healing potency by 30% for 20s on a 60s cooldown? Oh that has got to be absolutely OP... or alternatively absolutely critical for later content because DAAAAAMN...
Oh and the story quest chain where you're looking for the Enterprise?
Eff those bloody stuck up Ishgaldians. I refuse to do any more of those sidequests because I absolutely loathe those pricks. Pity I'm in between story quests so I have to find some way to level. Probably going to run around doing Grand Company leves or FATES for those seals.
The Titan fight has some of the best theme music... made the 4 hours butting my head against the wall with retarded DPS a lot less frustrating.
Uh, I've seen people log in a few hours a day and finish the storyline easily. The initial main storyline is really easy to get through. Moreso if you join a friendly FC to carry you through dungeons.
Yuna's voice actor was perfectly good. Yuna's voice direction was pretty bad.
I may be wrong, but did they change the speaking animations from the original Japanese? Because if they didn't, that means the actors had to fit their lines into the gaps where the lips were moving.

Yeah, the biggest blockade to finishing the story is playing as DPS and having to wait in queues to do the dungeons that forcibly gate the story. I really wish they had come up with a better way to do that because it's really annoying in an otherwise great game.
Nevermind, I'm phenominally stupid. I saw the "on sale 27th august" button/banner and for some weird reason I thought it meant "going on a sale 27th september".
Do any MMOs do things phone card style? As in, instead of paying for unlimited play for the month/year/whatever, you get a certain amount of time to play, and it lasts until you use it up, a la "minutes"?
That might be annoying for heavy players, but for more casual people it could be interesting. It's not even a matter of how much I play, on my end, but I don't like having a constant sunk cost pressure pushing me to play. It kind of messes things up for me, and it's why I quit WoW.

I'm exactly the same way.
It's why I prefer F2P systems.

This is why I'm glad that "pop in, pop out" seems to be where a lot of the next gen games are going with their online.
I mean I don't have much financial responsibility since I'm still a live at home student, but I have very little free time and I've already got too many monthly bills for things I only occasionally use.

Wait, is that a 3D FMV of Cloud crossdressing for that one scene?
FFVII remake confirmed!
He doesn't offer anything better
For his laziness, he received Red XIII

Good enough to save Final Fantasy.
Great gameplay. Shit tons of things to do. Well designed.
And it has a good story.

oh boy what have I done
If you're story gated by a dungeon, just post in FC chat that you are story gated and sad and would like some help.
